usually they are set up automatically that way. my friend is a fire chief and all his vehicles have the same default at startup. the only way to change it is pressing a button, but most don't care till they get to the scene. The most important part of the lights are the front.
I am a retired Firefighter and EMT. I was a station Capt. In South Georgia and we used our POVS AS WELL. We were allowed 10 miles over the posted speed limit and I had a Code 3 Dash Laser with a multi Reflector with a red and clear alternating light in the rear with a Federal Siren. The combo worked very well for me most of the time but everyone non and then is going to run into an idiot on the road. I always let them show everyone else just how STUPID THEY REALLY WERE! Especially if Americus City Police saw it or a deputy with Sumter SO….LoL State Trooper John Hood , I asked him to take all of us through driving school for emergency vehicles and he did. Once everyone completed the class and passed his course he told us that if he caught breaking one rule he was not going to have mercy on that person….and he was not joking!! We never had any problems from any of the guys. Things were much simpler then than now. I am still involved with the emergency services but not full time. Most Fire departs here have a full time staff along with volunteers as well. I still help direct traffic when I am first on scene meaning I came up on the accident before any help was summoned. I keep my TECC certification up to date. I get a lot of compliments from law enforcement and emergency personnel due to the fact that I have the area cleared and ready for them when they get there as long as there are no real serious injuries. I keep the graffiti moving unless it will interfere with evidence then I block one side with my vehicle ( Amber and Clear lights ) and use a red and blue traffic wand to keep the other side in place. I had 26 years in when I stepped down in 2006 due to a wound I received serving in the Marine Corps. My last two years was a struggle due to chronic pain that started due to my injury. My Navy doctors told me it might happen and it did otherwise I would have served longer. I enjoy these videos because they bring back memories for me. I have to say there is much truth in a lot of these comments! If I were to give any advise to any of you it would be this: OBEY ALL TRAFFIC LAWS…Constantly watch the other drivers as closely as you can while looking STRAIGHT ahead! Use the common sense the Hood Lord has given you and you should be ok! There is always someone trying to make a way to sue someone for something and LAWYERS LOVE IT!!! Don’t fall into one of their traps!!

I've seen a few ambulances in my area respond with siren but no lights. People still know to yield for them. Could have been an electrical issue though.

Goth-Vlogs consider yourself lucky. At my volunteer department in Shepherdstown, WV NO ONE is allowed to have lights or siren in their car. Not even a chief, but they can still respond from home to calls without siren/lights. Same for other fire officers. Best I can do is orange construction visor lights😂
Great response videos is nice to see from different states. I'm in Pennsylvania we can only run blue lights, "courtesy light " with 4 way flashers on, most people wont move over but it helps. My dept does not permitt use of any interior warning, lighting only exterior 1 rotating and 2 flashing lts, or one roof mount led light bar, no other lights show be used on vehicles. State police hassled One of our neighboring borough's about vehicles codes regulations of warning lights, for that matter they dont allow use of any warning lights unless your an officer in the dept.
I love the rumbler we have an EMS supervisor that has the light bar and a really noticeable rumbler when he passed through the stoplight he would activate it and I was happy like a kid in a candy store
im in the process of making a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 318 5.2 engine into a POV i already have a hypertech tune in the computer & she got more balls than stock i love it.
I’m in Indiana We don’t allow POV on scene and anything outside of 10 miles blue lights not advised as you won’t catch any of the first trucks out... Grab a fire truck and be safe getting there The liability is too high
I'm in Indiana southern indiana I run blues 2 in the head lights and 2 in the fogs (hide aways) and 2 visor lights and the same in the rear I have a 14 ram always take it to scene because we have guys who live right next to the station and they grab trucks and roll out before we can get there

I've always liked these POVs... You get a general idea of just how large a particular fire district can be, and how far these drivers have to go to answer a call...

@@zilch7116 not a crown vic. 2 sirens equal 200 watts. Alot of people are running 200 watts out here. Fire truck have 2 sirens and horns. Must be a disco as well

Depends on the state. Some states only LE get blue lights and fire MUST use red. Other states Vols get no lights or sirens at all.

I get no lights or sirens, normal traffic I can get to the station within 5 minutes, holiday traffic has taken me almost an hour before....
