I've always loved this song, it has such expansion, passion and atmosphere...takes me someplace I cannot quite put finger on and for that I keep coming back to it.
Their repetoire is staggering. A 30 year journey exploring so many musical styles - what a truly great band. Always inventive, ever creative - long live Simple Minds.
Un morceau mythique, dévoilé au sommet de leur carrière. Joué ici avec des arrangements simplifiés, il reste malgré tout merveilleux, surtout avec Jim qui donne au texte une nouvelle interprétation.
Pure bliss, watching them live is a life experience I have yet to live! Respect from Greece, guys like Simple Minds are the reason music heals everything.
LOVE this song. Love everything SM. But may I say, Mick must be turning in his grave to hear this souless keyboard playing....... I know he's not dead. But if he were, he would.
Have you seen Micks video on RUclips he recently posted he plays this with a different arrangement it’s awesome and beautiful makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
@@MrChippiechappie what? Alone in his bedroom? What's the point of that? He must have been pretty depressed when he upped sticks. Would be more recognised now.
For your information the only reason Mick left was because he wanted to take a year to 18 months break as they had been constantly recording and touring for about ten years at that point. If Jim and Charlie would have agreed to his request instead of shitting on him he would most probably still be in the band today. It isn’t in his bedroom you idiot it’s in in his home studio and he demonstrates in three minutes what Simple Minds have been sorely lacking since 1990. Talent and soul he was the heart and soul of this band and without him they are nothing more than a tribute band that’s had a run of soulless keyboard players none of which have been able to hold a candle to MacNeils playing.
naaaaah .... Derek Forbes is missing ;) Saw ex Simple Minds in oxford on Monday far better than this pompous egotistical stadium shite ...............RAW Simple Minds unlike this trash ....

Sublime bit before I’m looking through a window
Always loved this track since 1989 - Switched me on to SM

no Mick MacNeil no Simple Minds
Wales
Not bad Verona is a better version
I think the verona version is edited. this one is without a filter.
I can tell you that Verona was taken direct from the desk and just compressed for video.
naaaaah .... Derek Forbes is missing ;)
Saw ex Simple Minds in oxford on Monday far better than this pompous egotistical stadium shite ...............RAW Simple Minds unlike this trash ....
It isn’t pompous stadium shite it’s Shute because there are key musicians missing I.e Micheal MacNeil and Derek Forbes.
Song sucks ass without Mick MacNeil on keys. There is no substitute for Mick.
