So emotional this song, I remember getting the coach to Roundhay Park Leeds for this tour on my own LOL. Had no car but so determined to see my favourite ever band. 23 years later & 20 odd further Simple Minds gigs & still the memories of my first SM gig come flooding back, pure pure quality.............Thanks for posting it.
They should have released roundhay park video instead of this arty farty shite.... I think I was the only one there with a stone roses t-shirt and flares 🤣 I had some funny looks that day I tell thee 😂✌️🙌
I know what you mean - I also went to Leeds Roundhay Park, then to Wembley Birmingham and Cardiff playing this takes me right back there….like it was yesterday
So emotional, every time I Watch it I have a cry. One of my fav songs from the band. 1989 SFY tour my first time with SM in Roma. Will never forget. Best band in the world and now ready for the 2024 Global Tour! Long Life SM!
All the same emotions dear that i have, i can't stop listen to them every days. My favourite's one is Belfast Child cause when i was in a bad mind situation, i don't know why i listened to this track... If you like New Gold dream, try to see Stefanie Callebaut, a dutch girl who did a great personal version, that's my opinion, eh eh
Very good remastered indeed. It should have been like this on the Verona DVD without the cafésounds and the train rolling down the tracks. You made The Spirits Rise Again!!!
Here comes a Hurricane indeed!! Great edit - personally I don't mind the other one (the trains kind of add something) but nothing can beat the real concert footage!
This by far is the best version of this song and the best edit. Thank you for cleaning it up! It kept me in that moment. Yeah, those interviews kill the build up of this epic song.
Very much appreciate the remastering and the post - I remember this from when I was 18. I remember thinking then how unique the lyrics and melody were - and they still are.
Thanks Rob for this remix track that i love as New Gold dream (in the city of lights version especially) and of course Belfast Child😍😉. The live sound you add is great !!! Congratulations.
GREAT Job, thank you SO much ! ( how did you manage that? Alternative footage whereever from? Any chance to do that with the other parts of the Verona DVD, too?)
What a tribute song to Victor Jara? A Chilean Poet/ protest singer murdered by the evil military dictator general Pinochet after the 1973 American backed coup, Shame on you! This is a song full of humanity.
Plenty of Celtic influences in their earlier music though? (Not to mention artwork?) Sure it's not a dance track, but they couldn't stay in that place forever?
Something about this band like no other , their music has a spiritual element
This was the best they’ve ever been, Mick loving it and that violin would bring tears to a glass eye. Love simple minds with this line up❤️❤️
The brilliance of Michael MacNeil. The Song writer!
For sure !! I miss him in the next years he left the group....
Simple Minds at their peek. Without a doubt.
the street fighting years tour = the minds at the top of the world of music !

I saw that tour in Glasgow 1989. Nice to see it again after all these years.
Went both nights at the SECC and the Saturday to Meadowbank after Celtic played Hearts at Tynecastle . Then saw them twice in Birmingham . Happy days

Semplicemente arte pura..... Simple minds da brividi
Why have I only just found this. I've been wanting to see this without the interviews since I was 17 back in '89. Thank you. Just so beautiful.
Great work I always though Verona was over edited and not really live this brings a truly great song to life thanks

Thank u for the remaster !!! Best band !!!
The one dislike was probably someone looking for information on simple minds, not the band.

Great times magic music

Mel Gaynor is from another world.

Ma Gainor chiude la 1• parte sui piattini Charleston col...zi zis!!!
Sembra tutto calcolato si guardano agli occhi e si capiscono!!

Fuerte
The album was patchy but this song is class
Don't let the demon's in.
Víctor Jara
This celtic crap is where it all started to go wrong for SM.
Well excuse them.

when MacNeil left is when the wheels fell off.
