I live in Verona and I was there that night in the Arena...I was just 17!!! What a night!!! Greatest band ever...
Si ed eravamo in Un Clima di Carisma dai Menti Semplici Simple Minds!! Live questo concerto uno dei più grandi in Assoluto come padroneggiano il Palco l' Arte ed ognuno sa con gli occhi guardando il Collega della Band, sa che fare ad un Re/Sol/Fa diesis ecc!!

2 sere prime lo stesso Repertorio Concert Live, fu al Pala Eur Roma per 2 Serate dal Gran publico perché non diedero li lo Stadio quindi 2 Serate è, ho lottato per il Biglietto a prezzo d'oro per andare la seconda Serata in Pala Eur Roma e poi il Carisma dei Simple Minds mi prese e 2 Sere dopo Arena di Verona 89 Live!!
Grazie ed eravamo una Fratellanza e a questi effetti di Charlie Bur Cirll Guitar, Malcom Foster Basso, Mec Mecneel Piano Forte Tastiere Lisa Germano Violino, Corista e Percussionista fu uno dei più belli Repertorio Concert Live!!

I was there... It was one of that incredible show that comes few time in a century. There was a strange huge energy. Definitely the best concert of my life by far. I was 18. There is some frame on this film where I can see me and my best friend of the time. It's on Mandela Day. I have a withe shirt and a shoulder bag. Today my friend an me we have a company together. Bought Verona on VHS. I always wanted to go there.Finally went today 8 may 2024,in my campervan.Watched the gig on RUclips that evening.What an incredible event.
Off to Pula in July to see the Minds in the amphitheatre there, cannot wait...🫶 Simple Minds Forever.

Il più bel Concerto Arena di Verona 89 fu uno Spettacolo! Apertura Palco col Telone bianco che dopo 3 Tuoni tipo , cade il Telone e i Simple Minds erano già in Postazione rivolti e fermi verso Mel Gainor Batteria, primo colpo di Rullante Tamburo Batteria, si apre col Basso Chitarra tutto tutti... Grande Performance ripreso per i DVD, CD, VHS 89!!! Le VHS erano e subito poi DVD!!!!

In June 1989 i attended a concert of this tour in Munich. I think, Simple minds were on their very peak. Unforgettable show over 3 hours. Thank you for sharing this concert from Verona

C ero. Uno dei concerti piu' emozionanti. Ricordo l attesa snervante, l urlo liberatorio quando cadde il sipario, la pressione della folla verso il palco. Da quanti eravamo se gettavi una moneta in alto non avrebbe mai raggiunto terra. Era adrenalina allo stato puro!

Was at the SFY tour at the SEC in Glasgow summer 1989. They played for 3 hours absolutely brilliant. Where have those years gone? If only we could go back.

This is a masterpiece of music!! Perfect, and then in Verona! WOW
I was lucky enough to see them on this tour at Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh. I still have the ticket but it’s for Murrayfield Stadium. Not long before the gig the Scottish Rugby Union announced a tour of South Africa. Nelson Mandela was still imprisoned at the time. In a show of solidarity with Mr Mandela the band changed venues. I’ve been a Minds fan since ‘81 and will be until I take my last breath. 🏴

Absolutely stunning concert.. I had this VHS TAPE BACK IN AROUND 2004 From a car boot sale and my mind was blown . I SEEN THEM IN MY FIRST CONCERT WHEN I WAS 22 OR 23 IN GLASGOW ARMADILLO around 2003. .. Jim is one of the best entertainers around. I Love his highkick's etc. What a bloody great band. x

I've still got Jim's Scotland scarf he gave me at a free Tuborg concert they did in Denmark years ago. The girl next to me got the list of songs they were doing. I was about 3 feet away from them the whole gig and it was epic.
Seen this lot more than any other band in my 55 years on the planet and they still rock.
Simple Minds have always been part of my life,from sneaking off work to see them at Ibrox Stadium, the Barrowlands,to Stockholm, Sweden, to working with Derek Forbes's brother, to my friend's Dad being the original drummer, they seemed to be always around...brilliant live band ❤

I used to watch this over and over. It was like great trip i kept going on. What a great great journey.
I remember buying this on video when it first came out. I've still got it. Look out for the young woman playing the violin later, that was brilliant too.
How good is this. Just incredible and this was just a day before my 18th Birthday .
I was to see them doing the same set list a week later at Birmingham NEC.
It seems a life time ago now and give me an emotional lump in the throat. Thinking about my younger self and how this Brilliant band has been playing their music in my life ,to this very day.

For about three years, back then, they were untouchable. The best live band on the planet. Saw them in 83, then again in 86, 88. Great band.

saw SM with my 23 year old daughter at the wyldes festival in cornwall 22/06/24, 35 years from seeing them during the 1989 SFY tour at the NEC, they are still amazing and will always be a massive part of my life , i must have seen the Verona concert around 1000 times over the years and it still makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck when the curtain comes down

had a chance to see them in '85 at 4,000 seat Constitution hall in DC. Blew that opportunity, regretfully. Did catch U2, the Waterboys, The Three O'Clock, and REM there though!

If simple minds ever come to your city, go see them live! They put on a fantastic show, and the music is magnificent. I have this DVD, I watched it many times. Some of the songs like waterfront sound better live.

They were still good in 1991 but mick macneil was very much missed. Saw them for real life tour in Sheffield. Wish i had seen them 2 years earlier. Agree with all comments that say this was their peak.
