Great solo, John.
This is why i prefer Budget gear to high end stuff. They are perfectly giggable, recordable, useable. And with some cheap mods and set up can be as good as mid range price gear.
John is absolutely right about the quality difference in budget guitars of today compared to "yesteryear". I'm of a similar age so I remember them well - it would be more accurate to call them "guitar shaped objects". Looking back it's a wonder any of us stuck with the guitar. Today is a golden age for cheap guitar gear - a beginner can get a complete rig that will get them through learning to early gigging stages for well under £500.
Excellent playing again John, and great advice as usual. Worked with a couple of lads from 'Boro in Norway a few years back, just like you, don't waste oxygen, say it like it is, love it!
Once again John, you have proved what I've always said....a good guitarist can make any guitar sound good.
Cheers. 😊😎🎸
Sounds real good in the right hands !
Sounded good for a cheap guitar, the slide performance was excellent,
i think this may have been due to Johns excellent slide skills.
With some TLC and upgrades it is still a good beginners guitar.
Shame about the the soft fret wire, but for the price something has to give.
We have to amend the definition of "cheap." To me, and I think many, "cheap" denotes plain crap with no redeeming qualities. Like my 1972 Raven bass. Cheap crap. Over the last 11 months I've picked up 2 Strat clone, 2 LP clones and a Tele clone and they are all a far cry from "cheap." for me, they are entry to intermediate level quality instruments. Nothing less. Only "lifestyle" snobs worry about brand names. Quality guitars ae being made at affordable pirces, so get them before prices go awry. Great demo, John. Really shows what that Glarry could do.
I think these guitars deserve to be called "entry - level" or "cost effective" rather than "cheap". JR has certainly proved that.
Hard to believe I was listening to a cheap guitar. I was listening as I did other things, not looking at the guitar and when I saw what it was; I was impressed that you drug those sweet tones out of that guitar!
If you want the bargain of 2021 grab one of these brilliant outstanding guitars for £333.00
Nice slide.
Another great review John!
Why dont you mod the guitar with some decent pickups and do a A B ?
I haven't played guitar for about 10yrs and want to restart but I was told that this particular guitar has quite a thick neck-is that the case?
From memory, I don't think so 👍
All right forthe money. ie. free.
Very nice. Think it's more you than the guitar though. You'd make 4x4 sing. Very Ricky Medlocke
nowt wrong with that JR
