An absolutely great tribute to one of the greatest men to ever grab a pair of drumsticks . Neil was truly the professor of the drumkit . Greetings from Canada and someone who has been a lifelong fan of RUSH .
This is a master piece, I enjoy it very much, great performance. And great attention to detail, even the red reso drum heads, like Neil used it on the TAMA kit.
This is a masterful performance dude! This sounds exactly like the Professor himself... your attention to detail is amazing. Excellent work my man! 🤘💯👏

Just using a 20" bass head instead of having a gong drum is genius! Never would have thought that, now I got the full set up. Awesome job, big inspiration
Thank you for the generous comments! Actually that is an authentic Tama gong drum. I believe Standard practice is just to put an oversized drum head. I actually looked into buying a Timpany head but they have slightly different dimensions and do not fit the Gong drum hoop.
My sentiments exactly! I've never pretended to even come close to that level of greatness, but I can use his inspiration to honor my interpretation as accurately as I can.
Wow, I'm impressed. Takes a lot to impress me when it comes to the Professor. Only flaw I can find is the tone of the cowbells 🤣 Good work! And the kit I always wanted. I had I similar mismatched superstar it in the walnut finish without the concert toms.
Ah yes, still in search of those elusive Gon Bops! Thanks for noticing the attention to detail. I tried to make this note-for-note accurate as I'm capable of, so you are my target audience.
I know everybody puts John Bonham first as the best drummer I think as the best heavy Rock drummer yes, but however Neil was the best technical proficient Rock drummer that ever has lived on this planet. I think you did Neil proud man👍

Thanks! That was exactly the goal. I wanted to do the ESL version in the first place but didn’t have a drumless version of that, but now I have the software to strip anything going forward. Next up: The Trees
Incredible Flawless Performance! Thanks for sharing! A worthy tribute to the genius of Neil Peart! The only very small (positive) criticism would be to perhaps better adjust the audio levels of the different instruments (woodblocks, cowbells, crotales, chimes) to be more evenly matched to the overall audio level of the drumkit (more subtle)?
Thanks, I sincerely appreciate your feedback and attention to detail. Admittedly I had those cranked up, and decreased the backing track volume in those section because the only thing that WASN'T drumless was the percussion parts, so I felt compelled to drown them out. That said, I realize now they are a little too hot (hurt the ears even?), so I do appreciate your comments.
This is a fine effort - great job! You even nailed the glockenspiel! Couple of small suggestions for the mix: cymbals are a little loud, bass drum is a bit quiet. A bit of compression on the drums might work too.
Is that a wood bass beater? So, no question a great cover and well done. Though I often think about the first guy to come up with this drum part, it never existed before NP played it. Amazes me.
Yup, I've had those beaters with Camco pedals long before I had this kit. Hard to improve on those. You're right...with a reasonable amount of technique and attention to detail, a fool like me can make a passable copy, but Neil's genius was his ability to create such fascinating and musical parts like this.
@@Neil_Peart_Covers Don't get me wrong though, you can't cover NP as well as you without talent! Rick Beato did a video on different guitar players "re-imagining" the LedZeps STH guitar solo (Phil X, EVH, and Eric Johnson iirc). Well, technically 35 years LOL, but to learn it properly on this kit (which I only recently acquired) about a week of practice. The cowbell part alone took about 2 hours of solid practice, and I can thank @Matt Drumm for transcribing that properly. Other parts took some woodshedding too.
