That's the same I was thinking during my gameplay. Then it hit me. They're pretty much like a nuclear weapon. However strong they might be, you don't want to see the Eikons in action, because they would leave nothing but destruction.
@@PerthornYeah. It nice that if you follow the action and look at where Bahamut was aiming, all of Bahamut's attacks were aimed at areas of the battlefield were solider were not present. Nice little details that go a long way.
Adding to what other commenters have said, that these two Eikons battling each other is akin to two sides in a war having nuclear weapons....Dion is clearly out of breath and exhausted when he returns to his tent. Priming takes its toll on the Dominants' bodies. If he'd fought a full battle with Odin, they would've decimated all of their troops and probably destroyed everything else in their wake. When Titan fought Shiva, it split the landscape and killed hundreds if not thousands. Also, Bahamut's first attack is aimed at the mountainside; I don't think any of it hits the troops. But when Odin later counters an attack, it deflects the beam and THAT'S when soldiers are killed. This shows the difference between Barnabas as a ruler and Dion as a ruler. Dion isn't there to mindlessly kill his own troops alongside the enemy--he shows up to put Barnabas in check, and leaves to prevent causing any more unnecessary casualties to his men.

Exactly. I've seen people make fun of this scene from how they both stop so suddenly but that's the point. It's a show of force and not a serious exchange. @@hyperion2841Little late to replay but yeah thats exactly what they are doing. I think the devs even said in an interview before the game released that the Eikons were meant to be the equivalent of magic nukes.
The fight might be short. But the point was to increase army morale, while making sure both Eikons doesn't prolong the fight. If one leaves, the other do too. Since fighting in full Eikon form risks your life.
This game took the crown away from ff7 remake being my favorite FF game. Just pure epic and adrenaline inducing fights with a heartfelt and beautiful storyline to wrap it all together. The bahamut bass Battle is easily top 5 boss battles in gaming history. They truly delivered on this game and it’s my GOTY.
ff7 remake despite being just small part of original much superior then FF16, ff16 is worse then ff15. It is quite obvious that half of the budget went to marketing. The game is clearly not enough money. There are four major cities in the game, not one of them is a full-fledged location, three of them are just a tunnel before the boss fight, and Oriflam is not even a tunnel. We didn't even visit the Iron Kingdom. Leviathan water aikon is mentioned in the lore, how was it shown? Not like, they just said that he was lost. Left for DLC probably. Many storylines are either not closed completely or closed in the most moronic way. The main characters are very bad. It is absolutely not interesting to see the interactions between Clive, Joshua and Jill.
There is so much collateral damage from Eikons engaging that it doesn't really make sense to use them as anything but a show of force and a deterrent. Without their own Eikon as a deterrent it would be completely one sided and any prolonged exchange of force between Eikons would basically mean mutually assured destruction. There would be no kingdom left to protect.

That being said, I wish there was a bit more RPG elements like meaningful leveling or equipment systems and a bit more party management even if they aren't controllable. 8 or 9 out of 10 for me. But for sure a 10/10 for cinematics and story imo
So I’m guessing Bahamut and Odin are the most powerful eikons, hence why they are fighting at a standstill here and their kingdoms are the most powerful in the land.
Bahamut and Odin are the most powerful Eikons in FFXVI. Bahamut is a flying nuke while Odin can cut pretty much anything (Barnabas is the strongest swordsman in Valisthea). Ifrit had to work with Phoenix to defeat Bahamut while Odin (Barnabas) went easy on Clive to prepare him as Ultima's vessel. It is unknown how Dion would fare against Clive in a human-to-human duel.
FF Type Zero did it too. The summoners are basically suicide squads because it requires a sacrifice to bring an Eidolon to the battlefield. l'Cie too since they are basically living nukes and when two of them Fight no one is safe, not even their own allies
So the violin bit at 1:10 sounded so familiar, and I thought it was a callback to a previous Final Fantasy game (from memory, I thought it was the Four Fiends from IV, but that's far off), but no, it's actually incredibly similar to Rookie & Popple from Mario and Luigi, which served as the inspiration for Bonetrousle from Undertale. Doesn't take away from how hard it hits, not just here but for the entire score. Big ups to Soken, and the entire XVI dev team. I always show this fight to anyone who'll listen.
My Eikon and Dominants Ranking: 1. Odin (Can cut basically anything) -> Barnabas beats Clive many times and went easy on him to test Clive to be Ultima's Vessel. Bahamut had difficulty fighting Odin. 2. Bahamut (Flying Nuclear Missile Launcher) -> Ifrit had to work with Phoenix to defeat Bahamut. 3. Phoenix (Hard to kill and has powerful long-range fire attacks) -> Joshua defeated Ifrit on his first try. 4. Ifrit (Strong fire-based attacks and can fight close-up battles). -> Clive defeated every Eikon and was lucky when defeating Phoenix, Bahamut, and Odin. 5. Titan (Create Earthquakes and control the Earth). -> Relies purely on strength and abilities. 6. Garuda (Can create strong wind-based attacks) -> Relies on long-range wind attacks. 7. Ramuh (Strong Lightning attacks) -> Can one shoot anyone unless they lose their defense. 8. Shiva (Ice attacks) -> Can defeat humans easily but not other Dominants. She couldn't best Liquid Flame and was one shot by Barnabas. Leviathan is unknown as we never saw the Eikon or its Dominant fight.
Only one I disagree with is Ifrit and Phoenix. How did Joshua beat Ifrit? Sure, it ended with both parties unconscious, but the final attack came from Ifrit punching through phoenix’s heart.
My eikons ranking is something like this: 1. Definitive Ifrit (has everything, defense, attack, speed, etc.) -> Basically the strongest is the power of ifrit and phoenix together and he managed to defeat bahamut empowered with the mother crystal. 2.Odin (it is said that he can cut everything even the threads of creation) -> basically he is the most skilled and one of the most experienced dominants that we see, he defeated clive 2 times, he managed to conquer his kingdom himself, he was in an even confrontation with bahamut although he later says that since he conquered his kingdom no one had given him a challenge so I guess he could finish off bahamut. 3.bahamut (a flying nuclear)-> he was able to beat ifrit and phoenix separately although he was empowered by the mother crystal, he was also able to have a small fight with odin. 4.ramuth (looks more like odin than odin himself) ->Basically he dodged without problems teleporting to ifrit and then one shot him without difficulty, unfortunately we never see him fight enough because cid was already succumbing to the curse, but in his prime he was surely at the level of odin and bahamut 5.titan (the biggest of all) -> he could have been victorious or in a tie with shiva (it is not very clear) he is quite agile and fast for his size, physically he is surely the strongest of all, he is extremely resistant and in his "titan lost" form he was even stronger. 6.Shiva (the ice queen)->although after her fight with the titan we don't see much up to it, she is definitely very strong, although later we see her very limited by elements or by the curse. 7.Garuda (a walking hurricane)-> Had a lot of destructive power but couldn't really do much against ifrit. 8.Fenix (The first one we see)->for me it was more of a support than a fighter like the rest, basically I didn't win any fight in which I participated directly although I still feel that it can be interchangeable with garuda. Leviathan would be missing but surely we will see it in a dlc.

I feel like the only "bad" ones are the ones in the first part of the game (before Drake's Head). After that almost all of them are really good, sure some are boring but still well-written.
I doubt Benedikta would ever be deployed under these circumstances, even if she was still alive. As leader of the Intelligencers, she was more about spying and special ops than leading armies from the front. I'd imagine having any Eikon on your side would be a morale boost, but Odin would always be the most significant one for the Royalists.
I'm just now realizing that it didn't make any sense for Dion to take his spear with him to turn into Bahamut. Where did he put the spear? Up Bahamut's butt? 😮
No he doesn’t need the spear it’s just that if he has it in his hand before he transforms he will have it after he transforms so it’s just better if he has it when he transforms back coz he went quite a way to get back to his camp
Dion had the good Life 5 Year's before the Downfall. Fighting a little with Odin, killing a lot of hiw own Peoble with a Attack and take a cold trink after that.
So...two demigods roll up, kill more of their men than anything else, trade a few shots and then both just fuck off? If I was odin I would have fucking *massacred* the enemy army while the prince was off getting a drink. Or is there a time limit you have for the transformation?
It takes a heavy toll on your body. But also, I think they were just asserting their dominance, and well, I guess not trying their own men as much as they already did just then🤣
He called the king (Odin) desperate because using their prime form risks life and sanity, plus they have a whole war to fight and don’t wanna lose their entire armies so he just countered Odin’s ULT and dipped.
if Odin stayed, Bahamut would've stayed too - that would be too damaging for the troops and also for the Dominants themselves. Odin tried to do something, but Dion just appeared there to neutralize it
Magic users(bearers, who wield magic naturally, and the Dominants that wield the Eikons) suffer from using it too much. Their bodies begin to crystalize if they overuse their magic. Bearers are generally treated as slaves(or an untouchable/unclean caste), unlike the Dominants who wield this godlike power.
It’s a strategic battle between two evenly matched groups. Bahamut showed up to counter Odin, any more involvement would kill too many people on both sides.
This game is wasted potential. They should have developed these characters more. GOT which they were supposed to get inspiration from gave a lot of time to different factions, but here we just focus on Clive who is a boring MC. This scene is the best of the game for me, rather than the dragons shooting kamehameha in space.
I mean, Bahamut has always been more powerful then Odin. But do we actually ever see Barnabas fighting to kill? This fight was a show of strength and to keep up training with their Eikons. A little challenge, or a game perhaps. And obviously Barnabas didn’t want to kill Clive, so he would’ve let off a bit, despite how into their fight he was. It did however take Ifrit Risen to even match Bahamut, whereas Odin was defeated by regular Clive.
Tengah sedap² lawan sekali abis stim ketum . Bahamut kata ," lepak jap , nak minum ketum , lepas minum ketum sambung fight balik . odin " okay , aku pun nak balik rumah sat minum seteguk "
I dont see the point of fight to regular army, all icons stronger then all army in the twins combined. It will be logical if war between country will be decided between icons.
Their fight was a display of strength to boost the morale of both armies. Fighting for too long while primed ends up damaging a Dominant and the collateral damage caused by the two strongest Eikons clashing would've been just too much.
I love how the mighty eikons stop the fight like
Bahamut : Okay dude that was cool

He does later
dayum the lighting is perfect
I wish we would get a barnabas dlc or cid dlc i wouldnt mind dion either
They both had the flex those Eikon muscles real quick then they let their respective armies continue to tear each other apart 💀
They both are basically just pulling some tremendous amount of morale boosts so that their armies don't think they're on the losing side
🤣 The comments asking why they just fought a short while and fked off. Ever heard of nuclear deterrence or is it standard to just nuke both armies?
This track goes so hard, wish it was used more
I can't stop thinking how strategically ineffective the mages on that battlefield are. We should be seeing Bio and group attack spells
Does he need that spear to summon Bahamut? If anyone even has that info could u pls tell me.
No he doesn’t need the spear it’s just that if he has it in his hand before he transforms he will have it after he transforms so it’s just better if he has it when he transforms back coz he went quite a way to get back to his camp
holy shit the designs in this game
Never played ff til 16 after playing tears and this I’m a full on ff fan now ❤
You definitely have to play ff7 remake if you liked 16. It’s a legendary game
Ff7 original is better to play next
And ff6
@@shrekonion7032 they might not enjoy the turn base features
@@hillroadbrand yes but ff7 has a completed story and the remake does not
Dion had the good Life 5 Year's before the Downfall. Fighting a little with Odin, killing a lot of hiw own Peoble with a Attack and take a cold trink after that.
Dion, Auron, Beatrix and Kain badas***s. Forever ❤
Ok hype as fuck but umm part four soon please?
They had a bathroom break at 1:40
God this game is so fucking cool
Odin is with us!
Nothing has ever captivated my imagination and emotions like FFX. I remake is overdue
I want this Ost badly
All of the OST fucking SLAPS MAN
Holy shit this music is on another level
One cut in the bahamut and K.O
Has anyone been able to find the song for this master piece !!!!
If Total War has a Final Fantasy theme.
Hey, you wanna continue this fight later?
Yeah, sure.
This game is wasted potential. They should have developed these characters more. GOT which they were supposed to get inspiration from gave a lot of time to different factions, but here we just focus on Clive who is a boring MC. This scene is the best of the game for me, rather than the dragons shooting kamehameha in space.
After finishing this masterpiece i think Dion would've killed Barnabas.
@@Timebomb_19 yes but they hyped Barnabas so much and we ended killing him by Clive’s regular form.
The prince is with us! Gets vaporized by said prince
Wow he fought that dude for like 10 seconds and then went back to camp 😂
Tengah sedap² lawan sekali abis stim ketum . Bahamut kata ," lepak jap , nak minum ketum , lepas minum ketum sambung fight balik . odin " okay , aku pun nak balik rumah sat minum seteguk "
Horse Vergil vs Gay Dragon
Jaime lanister transform into bahamut
More like Renley Baratheon 😅
Friendly fire turnes on
If you switch the letter O's placement in 'Dion' it spells 'Odin'. Coincidence? I think NOT!!
(Jk)
Does anyone know what the music's called
I end this game today and it's very good
This doesn’t feel like a Final Fantasy game but, it still looks good nonetheless. I’m interested.
Anyone know where I can find these soundtracks used here?
It's a remixed version of Dion/Bahamut's theme, if you look for "Bahamut vs Odin Theme" you should find it.
Name of the ost?
replying incase you find out
@@SashaEmp Won't be out until mid july
@@_ThePizzaGuy_ damn ;/, at least we have a semi-date
Been looking in every video with this scene to find out the name o the OST :(
Whats the ost???
What is this music?
Knight of the round.
Fuck I wish I had a ps5
I dont see the point of fight to regular army, all icons stronger then all army in the twins combined. It will be logical if war between country will be decided between icons.
Dude trying to reason logically in a final fantasy game
Imagine bahamut in house of dragon
Light VS Darkness
the horse is a mountain size
Why he go back to a tent to sip tea after a couple seconds of fighting wtf
Their fight was a display of strength to boost the morale of both armies.
Fighting for too long while primed ends up damaging a Dominant and the collateral damage caused by the two strongest Eikons clashing would've been just too much.
Ost name?
Joder con los violines temazooooo
