Beautiful piece of music. The drums drove the song, the fretless bass provided a beautiful bottom end, and the guitar was melodic yet soulful. What fun to have written this song, to be part of the creative process.
You guys sound good! Just keep practicing everyday and don’t get discouraged. If you stay focused, eventually with time, you’ll be able to play out somewhere in front of people. You guys are showing allot of potential, good luck! 😀
What a great composition from McLaughlin, I'm 72 yrs old & watched Miles Davis give birth to fusion ,of all the great fusion bands I saw in the 1970's only John McLaughlin with his Mahavishnu Orchestra were as consistently creative in writing complex yet beautiful pieces as Frank Zappa was ,the tour where Zappa used Mahavishnu as his opening act was mind blowing, each night John & Frank would push their bands to out perform each other ,my wife & I followed the tour through 5 states ,I'd give anything to have had the camera tech back then that we have now to capture those shows ,they all lie in Zappas vault collection ,unheard for 40 years .
Hey Michael! You're a lucky man!! John and Frank are my heroes!! I saw John live many times. But in the last 25 years. Never got to see Mahavishnu live. Or Frank. My dream concerts: Frank Zappa, The Beatles & Mahavishnu. And yes... These cameras we have today would have been very handful back then... My best regards Michael!!!
Miles didn't invent fusion.Listen to Larry Coryell's Spaces album from 1970 Mc Laughlin is a guest performer as are Billy Cobham,Chick Corea and Miroslav Vitous. This was before Mahavishnu Orchestra.Coryell was playing fusion music with Gary Burton in1967 Duster LP.
Good lord, I had to look closely because I though Terry's hi-hat was on a trigger, but no, that's just his incredible time keeping and stamina. Absolutely amazing.
Ok... It took 6 years for this to show up on my feed....Absolutely amazing!! I have never seen a kit as full and extensive as that!! To say "Well done" does not give you the respect you deserve. I will just say "WOW"!!! I am in Awe!
So, so glad I stumbled across this. Fan of Bozzio and McLaughlin for a long time, Mr. Kusdra's take on this is just incredible. Beautiful in every way. Definitely looking into more of your music.
I would suggest young folks who likes instrumentals to listen to Black light Syndrome album..One of Terry's best works for sure and a masterpiece of an album
Terry and Eduardo doing a Shakti tune, (from their "Natural Elements" L.P)~ a favourite of mine. It's nice to hear a reinterpretation here. Thanks for Posting.
Here for the drumming, but wow that guitar playing, but Terry's playing is very tasteful and some great percussive sounds. Best Bozzio thing I've ever seen, love it.
you know, you see terry kind of woodshedding on his kit and you think thats cool he's a great drummer and all but then you hear him with other musicians and it all comes together for you--truly one of the most amazing drummers ever
I don't care what anybody says!! From one drummer that loves and played this music, he's one of the best and most musical drummers ever!! Just perform The Black Page and then talk to me!!
The Mr. Bozzio uses the snare off reminds of Trilok Gurto, btw Terry now plays his set as if its a melodic instrument all its own w micro melodies both skin ones and metal ones, this is a joy!!!!!!
The original is my favourite piece of music ever - it never occurred to me that there were other dimensions to it - and here they are! Beautiful! Thanks Eduardo et al!
+Beadybonce - Hey Beadybonce!! Thank you for the kind words! I just love John's music! This piece is my favorite as well! So this is my humble tribute to him! My best regards!!
An absolutely stunning performance. This sort of musical presentation defies conventional definition, as it is on a whole different level than can be properly captured in mere words. The music speaks, not only volumes, but entire libraries. Bravo Eduardo and Terry!
Hurrah! What a wonderful performance! Dear guitarist and percussionist! I congratulate and wish you all the best to perform well in more and more stages, recording studios, orchestras etc.
A beautiful interpretation of a gorgeous McLaughlin/Shankar classic! Thank you. Wouldn't it be wonderful for someone to take on classic Shakti pieces and re-interpret them in the context of a traditional 'Western' band. What an incredibly exciting (and challenging) project that would be!
I just got a Ludwig Legacy with 11 drums total and I cannot even begin to imagine how long it must take for Terry to tune all those. :D Does he do any consulting on the side? I may need someone to figure out my beginner's level kit. :D OK truth be told I've been at this for maybe 40 years but hey wouldn't that be a fun spin having one drummer design a kit for another drummer?
Rick Terry is one of the greatest music innovators of our time. Pure genius. Love his music! Don’t know about “rip on Bozzio”. The man is touring all over the world! Regards Rick!
Really a great performance. Such fine and smooth playing and both musicians complement each other's playing. Love the sounds from both of the musicians melting into one!
I’m a drummer, so anything with Terry Bozzio is click bait for me - it has been a pleasure being introduced to your work through this video. You have a new fan! Thanks!
Sounds great. Watching the Ovation get played hurts my fingers to watch. Never could get into those. I live close to where they started out; my guitar tech used to work for them.
VERY NICE RENDITION. Nice to have discovered you, Eduardo. How? Well, I was looking for a Mayones dealer near Panama. You're not close but we can't have everything! As for Terry, I discovered him years ago when I lived in L.A. and he was with Zappa and then in Missing Persons. I'm off to listen to you some more! Great stuff.
Hello there Rog!!! Thank you for your words!! Small world ha... Yes we are not that close! But I hope you can find some Mayones instrument around! They are really nice! And Terry's a monster! Love his playing! Those years with Zappa were his best for me! Missing Persons were absolutely great as well with Warren and Patrick O'Hearn. My best regards Rog and once again thank you!!!
is this his full kit? Didn't he have two rows of toms on the right side of his kit instead of one? During his Guitar Center performance of 2011 he had 2 rows. I couldn't play his kit.
Sorry for what I said one year ago, good song. I couldn't make any promises then, I'll try making a Trainz music video about this. When I get the chance to.
Is this track like in 15/8 time or something??? Fucking awesome shit! Rock musicians prove yet again that they along with the Jazz players are the classical musicians of today. Could you imagine the 'Jonas Brothers' tackling this track?
LMA UK Hey!! Yes in the bridge the time signature changes to 15/8. The first part it’s played in 7/8 and 8/8. Thank you for your comment!! My best regards!!!
Hard song to cover. The original is intense, this one was a little more laid back. I think, not bragging, that I could have brought more to the guitar, but then this has been my jam for decades.... All in all, glad to hear other people enjoying it!
Nice job, though. I didn't want to come across as a hater. So cool you got to do it with Terry. How did that happen? In all fairness, I should send you 'my' version (which I'd still have to record. Fair is fair! :-) ) Might take me a while to get something worthwhile, but I'll do what I can. Anyhow: again, nice job.
Hey Brent! It was really cool to have Terry with me on this! He's one of my favorite musicians in the world! So I rote him and we did it! I'll be glad to hear your version! Send me when you have it ready! This song is one of my favorite from the Shakti days! My best regards Brent!!!
What are those toms, with the ring down below each drum? They vaguely look like some rototom hybrid. Is it for resonance? Can he turn the rim to change the pitch of the tom?
Beautiful piece of music. The drums drove the song, the fretless bass provided a beautiful bottom end, and the guitar was melodic yet soulful. What fun to have written this song, to be part of the creative process.
I am now more than ever convinced that MUSIC!!!!! is the purest expression of the human soul
I come back to this almost every other month and I always hear something i haven't heard before.
This is artistry!! Terry Bozzio is a drum set artist; painter; master of melody!! Also with fabulous technique to pull it off!!
You guys sound good! Just keep practicing everyday and don’t get discouraged. If you stay focused, eventually with time, you’ll be able to play out somewhere in front of people. You guys are showing allot of potential, good luck! 😀
Thank you for your advice, Jeffrey!
Maybe Join that School of Rock..ya know with the other kids..Drummer probably will get good after a few years..
And what band do you play in?
hahahahhahahahaha, thank I needed that laugh!!
@@tednugentlives Hahahaha maybe he'll manage to join a band someday...

Enormous sense of placing, as well an incredible and smooth accuracy behind-then beyond the drumset.
Two musicians locked in and listening to each other whilst playing. Love this.
I love that fretless bass.
Wow what a beautiful peace of music 🎼🎵🎵🎶🎼🎼
Good lord, I had to look closely because I though Terry's hi-hat was on a trigger, but no, that's just his incredible time keeping and stamina. Absolutely amazing.
Ok... It took 6 years for this to show up on my feed....Absolutely amazing!! I have never seen a kit as full and extensive as that!! To say "Well done" does not give you the respect you deserve. I will just say "WOW"!!! I am in Awe!
I still find myself coming back to this cover years after discovering it.
So, so glad I stumbled across this. Fan of Bozzio and McLaughlin for a long time, Mr. Kusdra's take on this is just incredible. Beautiful in every way. Definitely looking into more of your music.
One of my favourite pieces of music.
Lovely version.
That was amazing! Terry never disappoints!
I would suggest young folks who likes instrumentals to listen to Black light Syndrome album..One of Terry's best works for sure and a masterpiece of an album
+Navid Khan I just discovered Blacklight Syndrome three days ago. It's amazing, and I don;t use that word too often any more...
+kumoyuki One of my personal fav...ageless and timeless..Cheers for checking it out!
+Navid Khan Polytown is a killer record as well. As for this video, Eduardo is fantastic. Love the fretless..
Amen to that!! That album changed my life!
And 'Situation Dangerous'. Both Bozzio Levin Stevens albums are amazing ; )
Beautiful! I came to this through an interest in Bozzio. This is absolutely wonderful. Thanks for posting.

Agreed, 100%. So much feel in that guitar playing, and the best thing I've ever seen Bozzio play. Very very tasteful.
Wow this good, fun to listen to. What a great groove. Very nice, melodic and clean playing.
you know, you see terry kind of woodshedding on his kit and you think thats cool he's a great drummer and all but then you hear him with other musicians and it all comes together for you--truly one of the most amazing drummers ever
such a smooth sound all the instruments compliment each other so well.
I don't care what anybody says!! From one drummer that loves and played this music, he's one of the best and most musical drummers ever!! Just perform The Black Page and then talk to me!!
Fabulous piece of music..!
Bravo! 👏
Terry Bozzio graced them w his presence!
The Mr. Bozzio uses the snare off reminds of Trilok Gurto, btw Terry now plays his set as if its a melodic instrument all its own w micro melodies both skin ones and metal ones, this is a joy!!!!!!
I saw Trilok with John McLaughlin and Bozzio with his DW kit, both standing back stage. Not the same show of course. It was killer. :)
Excellent performance of my all time favorite song. Kudos!
You picked out one of my All-life-favourites and performed it delicious. Thx!
SwamiOrchestra Thank you Swami!!! My best regards!!!
The original is my favourite piece of music ever - it never occurred to me that there were other dimensions to it - and here they are! Beautiful! Thanks Eduardo et al!

Absolutely wonderful performance; thanks for posting this gem and of course, for playing it so beautifully; what a thrill to see and hear!
+Greg Vinson
Hey Greg Vinson!!! Thank you for your kind words!!! My best regards!!!
Hurrah! What a wonderful performance! Dear guitarist and percussionist! I congratulate and wish you all the best to perform well in more and more stages, recording studios, orchestras etc.
By far the most versatile drummer in the world. Terry can play to any type of music. He is simply BRILLANT!
Could listen to them playing all day. Sheer perfection.
Please make SEVERAL albums of this please. :)

Perfection. The diverse range of drum and percussive sounds is great for this.
OMG this is so awesome. No one can play a fill like Terry.
Eduardo and Terry..who would tackle this. There are cover tunes and then there is this..Holy Shakti Batman
Bozzio my hero. Keep up the great work.

People rip on Bozio but that man is just trying to live his best life. No one else does it like him, so why shouldn't he be him?
Rick Terry is one of the greatest music innovators of our time. Pure genius. Love his music! Don’t know about “rip on Bozzio”. The man is touring all over the world! Regards Rick!
This is so incredible! So many rhythmic & melodic dimensions, so hypnotic.
That Radia ride sounds fantastic!
Terry Bozzio he's just so smooth no matter what he does just so smooth his beat lies somewhere in between it's so rhythmic
Speechless! Simply great piece of music !!👍
Beat is 15/16 ! Amazing
Really a great performance. Such fine and smooth playing and both musicians complement each other's playing. Love the sounds from both of the musicians melting into one!

So awesome, love latin guitar when it rips like that.
Phenomenal rendition of Face to Face ❤️👍👍❤️
Great rendition of a tremendous Shakti tune.
Absolutely beautiful, Eduardo.
Beautiful guitar!
Great cover. John McLaughlin’s solo in the middle section of the original is so beautiful it actually brought me to tears the first time I heard it.
Craig Williams Thank you Craig! John’s solo on that song is really something special... Regards man!
I’m a drummer, so anything with Terry Bozzio is click bait for me - it has been a pleasure being introduced to your work through this video. You have a new fan! Thanks!
Craig Williams Hey Craig! Thank you so much for your kind words my friend! My best regards!!
Sounds great. Watching the Ovation get played hurts my fingers to watch. Never could get into those. I live close to where they started out; my guitar tech used to work for them.

Wow, that was good!
Phenomenal
Lovely rendition, gentlemen. Bravo!
hermoso tema y la musicalidad de bozzio, sin palabras.
Ooh Never knew Of this..Nice one thanks!
I love this.
MAGNIFICENT
Longest Terry stays in the perimeters of regular drumming he'll be fine sounds pretty good
is this his full kit? Didn't he have two rows of toms on the right side of his kit instead of one? During his Guitar Center performance of 2011 he had 2 rows. I couldn't play his kit.
That's an absolutely gorgeous bass ya got there mister!
Reece Ryan Hey Reece!! Thank you so much!!! My best regards!!!!
Amazing music and performance
There's a drum kit one wouldn't want to move very often! 😉
Brillante!
Beautiful
Loveliness❤🎉❤
Sorry for what I said one year ago, good song. I couldn't make any promises then, I'll try making a Trainz music video about this. When I get the chance to.

Hey asama 1959!!! Thanks really!!!!!!! Best regards!!!!
Fantastic musicians
What are those toms, with the ring down below each drum? They vaguely look like some rototom hybrid. Is it for resonance? Can he turn the rim to change the pitch of the tom?
Those drums aren't for show - Terry uses every last one of them to play what serves the song
@Mickey Zombish You ever catch him live with this set? He plays the whole damn thing.
@Mickey Zombish I guess you missed him when he was with Zappa.
@Mickey Zombish I see you everywhere shitting on Terry bozzio. Really says alot about you.
@@thenecropolis_ov_former_lo3396 because terry is utter shit, one look at his cymbal set-up and you know this guy is a fool..
No words, for explain!
Thank for your beautiful interpretation of this piece. Peace, Godspeed.
Hey Quenten Jones!! Thanks man!!!!! My best regards!!!!!
