    About to buy my first dirt bike since 1978. Man, i sure appreciate your lessons! You are, hands down, the best enduro teacher on the web. When I get my bike I am going to start with your 10 part series with Mark and video my progress so people on RUclips can see that it's never too late to get out there riding! Thanks for your teaching. Can't wait to buy my first IRC Dakota. I'm planning to spend my entire summer exploring the mountains of Idaho and post the videos.

    I appreciate that you also added a failure to your video. It helped me to realize you are human too. My mistake was riding my front wheel for about 20 yards wondering which way the back tire was going to go and then figuring that diving off to the right of the bike was a safer option. 😁😆

    Been working on this for a long while. The trials guys make it looks sooo easy to move the rear a whole 90 degrees. I can't figure out the body movements for that smooth effortless huge rotation. I did notice something you said though. You said if your hips and the rear tire are going to the left, you turn your bars to the right and I see you do that in some of the clips. I'll have to play with that. I think of it differently and maybe this is part of my problem. If you do a big high nose wheelie you can "press" on the right grip to make the rear end go left. but this doesn't work as well if you don't get the rear end pretty high.

    Hi Rich and thanks for the great information. Isn't there also a style used in trials riding where you use a little clutch bump combined with unloading the rear suspention to get the rear wheel driving forward ( and up ) while the front brake is on? It seems like this could help with a little momentum and lift.
    I ride my trials probably as much as my enduros ( Beta 200+300 ) but more for Enduro type riding, so I'm not focused as much training on purely trials obstacles, but am learning as I encounter things on the trails. I'm usually cruising right along and not approaching obstacles like a normal trials approach, slow and controlled, more pounding it out!
    Multiple cracks in my rear hub on my Evo testifies to that. Should have waited for the billet hub but went factory replacement. We'll keep an eye on it knowing what I know now!🤔🙄

      @IRCTireUSAMoto  2 года назад

      Yes the clutch snap is another way to get that rear tire lift. I still believe using a rock is the best way to get comfortable first with this skill. Finding how much front brake is needed and how the compression and rebound can assist makes it all so much easier. Then timing the clutch snap will, as a result, will become easier.

    I would see this move handy to clear the bashplate on square drop while maintain slow speed.
    I've been working on this with bicycle, trials bike, enduro bike and adventure bike. What I've learned is that the heavier the bike the more engine is needed to ignite the lift. I don't actually recall Rich mentioning to not pull the clutch before tail is in the air - it makes a big difference to the lift.
    If there's someone with skills to pop the rear up from stand still please share your wisdom - I know it's about snapping the clutch together with shock compression but at the moment it feels almost undoable for me to get signifigant lift.. but so did rear hops on trials bike without engine running before winter too and as you know all it took was that magical 30min a day to make it possible

    Hey,
    I'am riding a TE150i at the Moment. I would say I'am a good intermediate rider. The 150 often comes to it limits by now.
    So I need a new bike. I thought about a gasgas 250, because of the lower torque, so that it's not like too much for me in reference to an 300.
    What are your oppinions about this? Have you ever ridden a 250 and 300 back to back?
    Greetings from Germany
