Thanks for the support everyone! I noticed my mic sound is only coming out of the left channel. Not sure what happened but I'll get that fixed for the next episode. Regardless of the sound the tips still work, LOL! Thanks Again!
god...what if you put everything you teach into a lv1 to lv 100 sequence that people can learn and progress from easy to hard.....i'd sure buy it be it a book or DVD or online course or whatever. your tips are great, your instructions are easily understandable. you are one of the best teacher about motorcycles i've ever found on the internet. awesome work man.
You are one of the few ( if not the only one ) to demonstrate the 99 % time standing on pegs. KUDOS !!! And as usual, great video and technique clearly explained and super efficient... THANKS
Great tips! My favorite energy saving technique is to make the transition from sitting to standing when you hit a small bump to help kick you up out of the seat. Also, when you go over a hollow, stand up in that moment you and the bike are weightless. Saves a lot of energy over the course of a long ride/race.
I love your tips and even though I will never become a hard enduro competitor, your tips and tricks have proven useful to improving my riding skill on my 690. My goal for this year is to do a enduro race and to be able to ride the more milder black trails. Please keep the lesson videos going!
I have a hard time when the step ups/rocks are repeating and get both front and rear in a low spot with all momentum lost. Very difficult to look ahead when the obstacles get big. It’s ride too fast and get out of rhythm or slow down and get stuck momentarily. @6:40 for a good example👍🏼 Great videos.
that's uncanny I do the exact same, only my ol girl's an '04 - cheers mate! BTW I find old WR's sit a bit too tall (with feet off pegs) for this type of stuff...
Man I came upon your channel looking for reviews on the gas gas ec300 and man you been giving some great tips I’m planning on practicing with in my backyard
Awesome!!! Awhile back you posted about "How to crash" when watching that video I caught a bonus and it was how you move around a bike on steep ground????? when you dismounted off bike you would get back on from any side easily and efficiently ..... hate to admit it but i will often be balancing my bike and trying to slowly move around it to get on? After watching you on downhill side of bike step on peg and right into the saddle I was like WOW i feel dumb. Keep the wisdom coming!
Great tips, I gotta get out there and practice! One thing I noticed: when you were doing your backing up, you dragged the front brake a lot. Working on timing with that finger could save you some energy. Cheers!
Love your work Rich..✌ A lady on a kids moto group on fb was asking how to teach her kid clutch control. I suggested to look you up. A few hiurs later she thanked me and said her son has already started practising his newly learn't techniques from you.. So much love and respect for you mate, as a person firstly. I really like you..👍 Secondly for sharing such great infor to us hackers.. lol. I've been riding for 35 years. Gotten to the best point of my riding career and a lot of it is thanks to you Rich.. I've pracriced like never before, instead of riding all the time..😉
I have seen people do a little stoppie after a ledge to line up for the next obstacle but your method looks great, lots of control and you can do it anywhere. it looks reliable , i like it
Thanks for the excellent info. I enjoy older 250 MX bikes for mountain and desert riding and occasional track. My suspension is stiff for deep sand whoops and jumps and have no flywheel weight. I run about 18 psi in the tires to keep from pinching and squirming. I'm thinking about learning on my little play bikes as they are soft, low and friendly or mountain bikes for the balance skills. How hard would it be for you to do this on a bike not set up properly? What can be done with just the clickers? I'm thinking back off on the rebound and compression. Having a 18" rear gives a lot more squish too . How about a wheelie bar with a knobby to replace the fragile rear fender and protect the spark arrestor? At least until we get good at it. Always wanted one in the dunes. I'm over 60 and not entering any competitions but these skills are what separates the old from the new and can be used in daily trail rides as well. After years of doing this as well as I can it's humbling to see what the kids are doing now. I'm jealous and want just a taste. It's just physics and timing properly applied.
Speaking of energy use on bike, how do you set up your bars...height, pis in clamps, rotation? I find lower bar have great control at expense of energy use and I get tired quicker....
Any tips for getting over wet slippery logs that elevated and angled downhill trying to send you off the side off the mountain? (Lots of downed trees right now and it's snowing)
Great video. A lot of tips can be summarized by saying you are maximizing the amount of effort you make your bike do and minimizing the amount of work you do physically.
Great video, question..I bought an IRC VE-33 110/90-19 it’s noticeably smaller in size than my current tire. IRC doesn’t offer a 120/.. honesty i road the tire just fine my biggest complaint was from my buddies joshing me about having a 125 tire on my 250. Have any input about the size difference and any traction difference?
thank you for your vids!!a genuine question from me is how do you transition from tubes to mousse?i understand that in high level competition it is a must but how do you tweak the suspension to suit?i have had 2 cracks at mousse and both times hate the dead heavy feel of them, with the non adjustable nature etc...speaking from the perspective of a very average intermediate rider riding low speed tree roots and insane slippery forest single track... cheers!
My mousse felt dead and hard to change tires. Then fell apart when a big friend rode it. Mountain bikes are using a foam insert with a tube inside. A Russian told me they drill an extra hole and have two tubes half full. When one fails pump the other up more. Haven't tried it yet. I don't do hard Enduro but have gone back to Slime or Fix a Flat and carry a bike pump on long rides. There was some Enduro balls they stuff in the tire that might work.
The first one is shocking =) So many times I wasted a lot of energy to back up a bit. And the solution is so simple! Thanks a lot, now need to practice shit out of it.
Is it possible to move a back wheel in a direction out from your leg? Because if you are too successful in this trick you can smash your foot even wearing boots.
I had a guy lock the front and pull a 180 in front of me on a rock ledge heading down some pretty steep stuff. He then used the gas and clutch to roll backwards about 10 feet, hit a decent flat, rotated on his rear tire to back to go down. It blew my mind to see that up close and I decided right then I was always just going to be a amateur:) he was like a ballerina and i could tell it took him no effort anymore to control his motorcycle. You guys probably eat the same quality of grit, because I can't get my bike up there to taste it :) it's OK. I enjoy watching you badasses from the safety below!
fuck man your on a level! that clip of you going up that section at 20 seconds is legit! I got to that rock face today and turned around. one I was alone. 2 I didn't have a gummy or soft enough mousse. 3 I'm being a bitch. dang..
Thanks for the support everyone! I noticed my mic sound is only coming out of the left channel. Not sure what happened but I'll get that fixed for the next episode. Regardless of the sound the tips still work, LOL! Thanks Again!
How often do you make it to the Midwest? Southern Illinois area specifically, would love to have a lesson with you this spring/summer!
For a moment I thought I was having a stroke.
You are a pretty Kool guy

Great tips. I’m old and like to maximize comfort over speed, and any tips to save energy increases comfort.
I do that too!
The bump to stand hahah, i csn relate
Wow that actually sounds super smart!

Always with the best technique demonstrations AND explanations! 👍 Awesome stuff! Thanks, from North of the border 🇨🇦
So good and so much information here! Gonna work on these for sure!

“Fighting a losing battle with gravity” pretty well sums it up for me…
I watch some of your clips before I ride. Definitely improves my ride and energy conservation. I ride a WR450F 2008 in jungle terrain. Thx!

Gracias por tus consejos.

Wow! You are awesome! Thanks for the tips!
Really needed this one. Thanks for detailing it.
Great video again!!! These tips are very useful. I'll try to use.

Great info. Wish I had known this about 20+ years ago. A lot of energy I've wasted that I didn't need to.
Great video! Congratulations! Best Regards - Brasil!
Awesome tips you make them look so easy
Good stuff here! Lots to practice now over the winter.

Hi. What gears do you use for hard enduro? How many teeth front and rear in racks?
Speaking of energy use on bike, how do you set up your bars...height, pis in clamps, rotation? I find lower bar have great control at expense of energy use and I get tired quicker....
Man I gotta practice some long stroke dry humps. Thanks Sensei!
can you make a video about traction on wet rocks or tree roots i find that is the hardest thing for me in enduro tracks or races thanks
How much compression and rebound do you typically use? 12 15 18 ? 2.5 turns ?
Wouldn't you like to know, tire boy ?
Any tips for getting over wet slippery logs that elevated and angled downhill trying to send you off the side off the mountain? (Lots of downed trees right now and it's snowing)
ruclips.net/video/jpTgd9r8iOs/видео.html There ya go.
Which better beta or gasgas for you?
What model beta in this video? Xtrainer300?

Hey Rich, excellent video as usual. Your Audio is only on the left channel which is annoying if using headphones.
Good to know! I'll get that fixed.
Brilliant tips 👍🏻
Great audio! Huge improvement overall on your studio but the audio is the most appreciated.
great tips thanks

can't wait to try that stoppie technique in the lot before next ride.
You can do it! Just takes a little practice!
Nice one!
Wow, never knew my dirt bike had reverse. Thanks Rich
Excellent

Reaching out and touching the ground, while staying on the seat. You doing a ComedyCentral piece next? :D
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it

How tall are you? I'd like to find tips for shorter riders. I'm 5'7"
Mind=blown. Great hacks for a hacker like me.
Larsen is so good That now I wanna ride with IRC tyres
haha! Thanks for the support of the channel man!!
You seem to be dragging your front tire a bit like you’re a little late releasing the front caliper. Great video as always!!
Little bit, didn't notice until I was editing the video.
@@IRCTireUSAMoto well get out there and put the time in, you may not be putting in enough hours lol.
