    ...Anodized cam chain! And I thought I was the only one who did that! LOL!!
    Thank you Mr. Morris for another great cross training video. Old school guys like me can scorch a trail well enough, but the "go slow to go fast" mentality is new to some of us. So as the spring thaw continues here in AK, I will be risking body plastics & tail light assly as I work on adding to my repertoire of skills. Largely thanks to your generously sharing your skill set with us.

      gncc1race i'm old school too, it's been a big eye opener for me the past year but nowadays i've (almost) completely lost interest in going fast. there's too much fun and challenge to be had tackling obstacles. :-) lucky i took off my tail assembly, i flipped it over three logs today. :-(

      I don't know if I'll ever get over going fast, but I can definitely see how much fun you guys are having with the extreme riding. It's clearly fun in and of itself, but it also broadens the whole spectrum of your riding abilities. Opens up a whole new way of tackling the landscape, so to speak.
      I wish I could afford a. the cost, b. the garage space for a "beater" bike to practice on. Some Craig's List rescue that I could put bark busters on and minimal maintenance. You know, rather than flip my beloved 500 over three logs! LOL!!

    Because of you I'm changing my street bike to an enduro so I can start learning these skills :)

      Kalimerakis actually hill climbs on a street bike would be the ultimate challenge!

    Wish i had a trials bike... Find it easier to do it to the right (move rear wheel to right) but of course this is on my mtb. I will definitely practice this next ride!

      Connor Stiles it's still tricky on a trials bike but SO much easier than a dirt bike. i've been very fortunate to learn a lot of the techniques on the trialsy first, makes it so much less difficult.

    Great vid! At 53 seconds you explain holding the rear brake and rocking the bike, the video looks like the right foot of off the rear brake, does that mean you are holding the front brake to rock the bike?
    Thanks 👍

      Shaun Rees looking doubtful rees... was planning to but the old body ain't holding up too well with so much riding, got carpal tunnel syndrome now so figuring i may have to dial it all back a bit. :-(

      Ahh No! Thats shitty. Take it easy then, make sure you dont do any permanent damage. And good luck with recovery!

      JoeJoe Moto I'll expect to see you and Mr. Rhys performing a few rear wheel hop pivot turns in your upcoming videos, Joe. As soon as you get the 300 on the road again. Er, ah, off the road again. Oh, you know what I mean! LOL!! ...Anodized cam chains... Did you catch that? I thought that was hilarious. Of course, you two stroke guys wouldn't know about that! That's a whole new level of bling!

      gncc1race I freaking love Barry's videos, he is a crack up! I was actually doing a few little stoppies the other weekend, I am not sure if I got footage of them or not, but I will try to put some up if I do. Cam Chain.......what is that? Valves.....YUK!

    • @gncc1race
      @gncc1race 9 лет назад +1

      I'm working on things like rear wheel pivot turns, log crossing, and slow wheelies. Stuff that will either have a direct application on the trail, or will improve control skills.
      Valves, from the latin Valvolineus... Hey! How do ya top anodized cam chains?! Anodized valves! Orange, of course... LOL!!

    Another sick vid, keep up the waiver disclaimer thingy and for bike bling which is cool can you put in something about them dick heads who stick their bright orange exhaust bungs in when the bikes are on the trailer,(a, no where near a hose, b, wasps can't make a nest while your great wall does 110 down the highway,) ps when do you get the beta, can't wait, love you man xx

      mad benny sweet, the exhaust bung has to go into a disclaimer!

    Your video missed one key technique. It is easier to hop the rear to the right if you turn the front wheel to the right. If you can do a rear wheel wheelie, all you need to do is turn the front wheel a little to the right and the rear will move to the right with minimal body movement.

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 лет назад +1

      David Ige interesting you mentioned that david. that's definitely the case with trials bikes. there's every chance i'm just doing it wrong, but i found every time i tried to initiate the side movement by turning the front wheel it was unbalanced every time. instead i did it with body positioning and the front wheel would naturally turn that way. we are getting some coaching next month by chris birch so might ask him then annotate the vid if i've got it wrong.

    1:25 - "the moving rear wheel hop is much easier on a dirtbike" It is? I would think it would be easier on a trials bike (or did I misunderstand the context of your statement?).

    • @TWiGsADV707
      @TWiGsADV707 9 лет назад +2

      Mark - Think he means easier than a static hop.

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 лет назад +2

      Mark - just meant it's far easier than the static wheel hop on a dirt bike. i find these impossible but the top extreme enduro riders can do it although it's purely for show, it takes so much energy that there's no practical application really.
