    I started Ozempics Sept 16, 2020. In 7 months, I lost 100 lbs, I lost a total of 147 lbs by 13 months (October 2021) and I have maintained my weight loss for a year. HgA1C went from 7.9 to 5.5 in 6 months. HgA1C is now 4.9.

    I didn't experience any weight loss on Ozempic, but my A1C is great 5.8. but due to the shortage the Dr. is switching me to Mounjaro. 2nd question. While on any of those can you take Wegovy also?

    • @HealthRX
      @HealthRX  Год назад +4

      Probably not a good idea to take Wegovy with any of them. Wegovy has the same active ingredient, (Semaglutide) as Ozempic hence that will be a direct duplication.
      Similarly combining Wegovy with Mounjaro will be considered therapeutic duplication, since their mechanisms of action are so similar. Doing so will significantly increase your risk of adverse effects. Please check with your doctor. All the best.

    I am gradually increasing from 1 to 2 mg of Ozempic. I have been on Ozempic for a year and have lost #65. I'm still losing about a pound a week. My doctor is hesitant to switch me to Monjoura as she feels my insurance won't cover it and the coupons are a short term offer. I have really struggled with constipation and have some vomiting every time my dose increases. Are side effects really that different between the two?

      I’ve been on Ozempic for a few months now, and I’m at 1mg weekly. I hardly have any side effects anymore, but also my weight loss completely stopped. Are you having any difficulties moving up to 2mg? Has it been any different than when you moved from .5mg up to 1mg? I think I may have to do that soon to get anymore benefits from it.

    • @HealthRX
      @HealthRX  2 года назад +5

      If the Ozempic is working, in my humble opinion, there shouldn’t be any rush to switch. The side effect profiles are quite similar. With that said, some people may do better on one more than the other. I wouldn’t rock the boat if there is no reason to. All the best.

      @@lisahodges9489 When I first increased to 1mg I would have horrible random periods of nausea. I would get really pale and sweaty. Dramatic! Went on for months. Now everytime I increase the dose somewhere between 12 and 36 hours after the injection I will vomit. Just once. Very brief nausea prior. Otherwise the nausea has resolved. I took my first 2 mg shot Thursday and so far it's all good. I'm really trying to focus on how much my body, not just my mouth, tells me it needs and that seems to help. I've definitely had plateaus of 2 or 3 weeks but the weight starts coming off again eventually.

I'm not sure if they will renew my coupon code, but I have 4 months of Rybelsus 14 mg, previously prescribed, that was still working but much more slowly. If my Mounjaro is denied, I want to take the Rybelsus 14 mg and not have to titrate up from the start with it again. Can I just switch to daily oral Rybelsus 14 mg if my Mounjaro 15 mg is not renewed? +Pharmacist Conversations

    • @HealthRX
      @HealthRX  Год назад +3

      @persona non grata You may have to work the specific details of your particular situation with your doctor, but per the guidelines, if you are switching from a weekly med like Mounjaro to something else, your dose of the other med, in your case Rybelsus, will be 7 days after discontinuing the Mounjaro.
      The guideline states that patients can be switched to the maximum maintenance dose of the med they are switching to. as long as they were able to tolerate the max dose of the prior med without any significant side effects. So chances are that your doctor will be Ok to have you take the 14mg of Rybelsus, but you will have to discuss. All the best.
