I’m an African American woman 48 years old. I’ve been on Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) since October 2, 2023 for weight loss. Starting weight was 325. I’m still on the drug and my weight as of January 12, 2024 is 294. I started on 2.5. I went up to 5.0 in November and stayed there through December. January 1, 2024 went up to 7.5 but had a lot of nausea and constipation. I went back down to 2.5 January 8, 2024. On December 15, 2023, I also started Weight Watchers as a permanent lifestyle change. I hope this information helps someone.

56 year old caucasian female. Started Mounjaro is October 2022 worked up to 12.5 mg by July 2023 loosing 100 lbs. I got off of it for approximately 2 months and began to gain a little back. I found I cold not control it so I got back on it and working on a maintenance dose that works well for me now. Starting weight was 254 currently 170. For me, Mounjaro was a miracle. I had 3 weight loss surgeries in the past with not much luck at keeping the weight off. This totally changed my thinking about food, it was not my focus anymore, I even had to remind myself to eat sometimes. I have RA and my joints do not hurt like they did before loosing the weight. I have had hypothyroidism for 43 years, my physician took me completely off my medication for it and my levels are staying within normal range. I did not have any side effects except a slight headache after taking the 12.5 injection the first few times.

I’ve been using Wegovy for 7 months. I think I may be one of those special cases you were speaking of. I had already been practicing keto for many years and had lost 130 lbs., but during the time my daughter got sick and ultimately passed away, I gained back 40 lbs., and it would NOT come off (stress). For me Wegovy will only be a temporary tool. I’ve lost 32 pounds with its help since April. I want to lose 42 more, and then I will stop. I am now a healthy active 71 year old. I will continue to be keto for the rest of my days, because of the amazing energy and clarity of mind that it gives me. 💜💜💜💜

I started Mounjaro in December 22. I was 6’5”, and a 50yo man. By 12 months I’d gone from 347lbs to 222. My job as a truck driver included on average 5 miles a day of walking, pushing, pulling and lifting. It was midway through that I added extra walking beside just for work. I went from 6.4 A1C to 5.5. My BMI went from 44 to 26.something. The biggest change isn’t just my weight, but between my ears. I’m been off it since December. I generally exercise walk 7-10 or more miles per day. In the past month I’ve started experimenting with light jogging. I absolutely do not want to go back.

It’s more miles because at first I used the walking tracker at first. And, march 19, I decided to experiment with carnivore. I’ve been carnivore ever since. Not necessarily for weight loss, but to see if what others said was true; it reverses many diseases and inflammations. I love it, and I love running now. What’s happened to me?!

Hope this helps women or people of color looking for use case scenarios. I’m 58, African American Female, starting weight 190, size 16, currently at 175, size 12/14. No goal weight as I’m on this for insulin resistance reversal, other health issues and longterm blood sugar stability. Started with 5.7 A1C, diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes in my 30’s with unexplained weight gain after not having any issues with weight or blood sugar up to then. Family history of type 2 diabetes, but same as me, father GFather, GMother, developed midlife after never having any struggles with food, weight or Blood Sugar. Struggled with up and down weight for many years later and was on metformin for at least a decade, but would stop when I lost weight not knowing or understanding that I likely had insulin resistance, hence the struggle with keeping weight off. Went Keto back in 2016 and had the most success with that eating regimen, maintained weight at around 165, size 10/12, for 3.5 years. Went off of it during Covid, obviously gained weight. Been back on it since Feb 2023 as I feel better overall and just in general eating Keto: ultra low carb, high fat, high to mod protein or balance of both. Diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2018. Note I have significant benign thyroid tumors, but no thyroid medication has been needed. My Doctor also suspects some metabolic issues as I also have POTS. Was diagnosed with POTS in Jan 2023 but struggled with symptoms for years and went undiagnosed. Because I was exercising and on a good eating regimen but not losing weight and had recently started gaining weight in my stomach for no apparent reason, my doctor said that insulin resistance was the cause and I needed help to reverse it. Not sure why he has never discussed insulin resistance with me, but reading that many doctors were not aware of long term effects of it and that there are people like me who were suffering even when we were doing the right things due to it being a silent underlying health issue. He said I would likely be on medication for the rest of my life to fight insulin resistance and that I was genetically predisposed to it. Hence why my 20 plus year struggle with diet, exercise, just lead to weight ups and downs and health difficulties. Been on Mounjaro 12 weeks so far. He also started me on 10 mg Farxiga at the same time. Minimal side effects. Sometimes I have some fatigue, but don’t know if it’s due to POTS or the Hashimotos to be honest as I’ve suffered from fatigue since 2017. I believe this is when the POTS issues really kicked in. I have some joint and muscle aches, and unusual foot pain, especially after dosing, and increasing the dose, but as long as I take my supplements overall the pain is not too bad. No hair loss. I had some stoppage of growth at my sides well before starting, and they do not know why. Otherwise I have very long and very thick hair that seems to be growing significantly faster than it did a few months ago. I started on 2.5 for 4 weeks, currently on 5 mg for last 8 weeks. Have had some stomach problems mainly due to POTS so wanted to increase slowly. I suggest anyone starting on this medication to heal your gut issues first. I started on live probiotic real food treatment in June and it’s made a difference. For the most part if there’s any added stomach issues they are tolerable or unnoticeable from my standard problems. No constipation. Also having some Low Blood Sugar problems recently which is why I’m increasing slowly. I plan to stay at 5 mg 4 more weeks then move to 7.5 mg. My doctor wants me at the maximum dose, but has been very agreeable allowing me to dictate the pace based on my symptoms and health issues. My insurance is covering the medications and I’m also using a Libre 3 glucose monitor which is also covered. I honestly believe that the Mounjaro is improving my insulin resistance and even to a lessor degree my POTS symptoms as it’s suspected the Hashimotos or Thyroid problems are what caused the POTS. If things continue along this line, although it’s slow progress, this medication will prove to be life changing. I honestly believe that the medical use of these medications will start helping far more people and that will overshadow the hoopla over the weight loss. Insulin resistance is far more problematic and folks should be more concerned about that. This is why so many people, especially those losing weight quickly, put it back on after stopping the drug. If you made it to the end of this long post, I hope it was helpful. Stay lifted! ♥️

I did Wegovy for a month and did a lot of walking and it didn't work for me last May. I had the worse side effects and I didn't lose any weight. Brit using it for first time. On starter dose appetite really suppressed. More so than when I was on the 2nd dosing of Ozempic. It’s FANTASTIC, have no desire food. It’s nothing like semaglutide. It’s the GIP. No side effects either. Less reflux than ozempic. I love it. In 6 days I’ve had 2 meals of soup + 1 pitta. The rest has been BITS of non white bread. I don’t care if it’s a carb - I’m still losing weight. Few oats here n there. Can’t wait to inject tomorrow.

Lost 7lbs first three weeks on Mounjaro 2.5 starter dose, was exercising doing aqua aerobics 3x weekly. Had no appetite but ate poached eggs, fresh salmon vegetables, chicken and fruit in small meals. Had slight flatulence, indigestion, was not constipated.
Went up to Mounjaro 5mg at end of first week on 5mg and before 2nd dose, had terrible diarrhoea for 5 days, could hardly eat, lost a further 7lb. Went back down to starter dose of 2.5 no longer have diarrhoea but am constipated, no appetite but no further weight loss in last two weeks have plateaued at 196 lbs, feeling lethargic. Will restart on higher dose of 5 mgs in 10 days and see what happens.

I went from an A1c of 9 to an A1c of 5.3, so it does work very well to reduce blood sugar. I agree that weight loss is a bit harder for those with insulin resistance. My weight went from, 213 to 190, a loss of 23 lbs, which is nice but it was a lot of hard work. BTW, there are plenty of black users of Mounjaro who've reported significant weight loss from the medicine, so it's unlikely race has anything to do with how the drugs work. Also, in my opinion, metformin is a waste -- did nothing for me prior to Mounjaro.

No fries no sodas , I dropped my calorie intake probably in half . I now weigh 198. I've lost 58 pounds. I started weight training now and taking daily vitamin, and no longer on metformin or high blood pressure pills. My A1C is at 5.4 , by the numbers I don't have diabetes anymore, but I just hope it continues like this .I feel fantastic , oh my dosage was 2.5 the whole time , so I think if u can change the actual diet ,u will do well.

I am 6 weeks into my journey with Mounjaro, I am starting to lose weight but most important is my blood sugar. I am a type 2 diabetic, and I have been in this condition since 2005. I have tried and tried for years to get my sugars under control and it is very difficult for me. Since being on Mounjaro, my sugar levels have dropped and now consistently range between 90 and 115. I have dropped my insulin intake by about 40% (Toujeo). There seems to be a bit of controversy regarding Mounjaro, but its primary purpose is for type 2 diabetes control and it is working very well for me. I need to lose weight, but sugar control is my primary goal -- and it is working great. I took Trulicity for a couple of years, and it did not help much. It could be I was taking a low dose (1.5mg). All medicines have some side effects, but for me the end result is worth the cost. I took Metformin for years, but it started to make me sick to my stomach so my Dr. took me off from it.

Yep. I wonder how many pronunciations of Mounjaro are out there? I've counted several: Moon-jawr-owe (Moon as in soon; jar as in car), Moun-jawr-owe (Moun as in mountain), Mun-jawr-owe (Mun as in sun) , Mun-jer-owe (jer as in Jerry), Moun-jer-owe (Moun as in mountain; jer as in Jerry). Zepbound will probably be pronounced as Zeep-bound by some, but I have no idea how Canadians will pronounce it. Personally, I think Zepbound is a dumb name and should have been something like Zeptide, or maybe Zeparol.

Personally, I thought Zepward would’ve been better. ‘Onward and Zepward’.
Or just plain Zepp. Rock band jokes be damned.

I thought Mounjaro was supposed to target diabetics. Like this guy, Shady doctors are deliberately creating shortages by focusing on weight loss at the expense of diabetics!

This sickens me. Here's the routine; get thin and monetize your body image so that you can consume expensive and high caloric foods, Buy expensive drugs to counter act the food, then try to manage the side effects. This is the USA at it's worst.
