This performance shows what music is really about... it is about passion, drama and emotions, not a few missed notes... i would always rather listen to this than someone with perfect technique but sounding like machine
I Agree, music is not just few notes. But more than that. Especially "Heart"
Yes but if one is passionate and accurate at the same time??
This piece is seriously difficult in terms of achieving 100 per cent accuracy in all notes.
I think he got a bit too excited with this piece. Before this he just finished playing the revolutionary Etude and didn’t take any time to compose himself before playing the next Etude
It is so underrated in difficulty
@@thegoldenkeys1289 it is, i simply don't understand how most people consider it one of the easier or mid-range etudes as it were... I wouldn't put it in same difficulty as op 10/1 or 10/2, nor 25/6 or 25/11, but they're the toughest ones.
@@markfowlermusic agree with you! I have been playing for 10 years and still cant get it to 160bpm insane speed! I would rank it maybe the 5th hardest following the ones you mentioned and op10 n4
@@thegoldenkeys1289 yes I agree, it's just disheartening trying to play it and yet the accuracy needed at that tempo is (to me at least) astonishing... I always play wrong notes, i can't see myself ever being able to play it cleanly mistake free, not even if I studied it intensely for another 50 years, even after about 20 years I can't fathom playing it correctly.
I agree with the gentleman... BRAVO!!!
omg that emotion at the end!! truly beautiful
I've listened to every video from this competition Mr. Jurinic has made, and my respect and admiration for his superb artistry and powerful command of the instrument just grows and grows. People who fancy themselves knowledgeable too often swoop down to point out "wring notes," which is too bad, because it takes a GREAT deal more than mere accuracy at top speed to make a compellingly beautiful and exciting performance. In my 70-year listing experience, and 67 years of intensive piano study I came to realize the the GREATEST and most BELOVED artists often "made mistakes." Those capable of producing what0appears-to-be absolute perfection too often seem cold, overly calculating -- or worse -- INDIFFERENT -- to the beauty, grandeur, poignancy and spiritual significance of the music. THIS young man is fully involved, fu of keen insight, deep understanding and a joyful EAGERNESS to share unstintingly what he nows of Chopin. In world overflowing with brilliant virtuosi Mr. Jurinic has DISTINGUISHED himself as one of THE most intriguing, satisfying artists of his time. He is MORE than admirable. he is LOVABLE.
He sounds awful. Look up lukas geniusas. He plays this 10x better no mistakes and with heart.
thefinalshoe fine, your opinion but stop being a bitch and shoving it down people’s throats. It was the final piece and concert and competition nerves got to him in the beginning. Still a great rendition
@@joulesapura349 Dont know how im shoving my opinion down pepoles throats by making a comment just like the guy i responded too. And besides anyone that gives more credit to a performance full of mistakes and mishaps rather than a performance with no mistakes (even if its not a favourable interpretation) is a bit of an idiot.
Absolutely outstanding and higlhy inspiring performances of the Chopin etudes. Keep up the good work.
my another favorite Etude, Ocean. heard missed few notes in the very beginning and middle. but Excellent!!!
Well, the fact that there are some missed notes during various performances of this, by musicians who are far better than I am right now, gives me encouragement. Because if they can fudge a note or two here and there, it is probably a combo of nerves, and the fact the pieces are just that hard. this means anyone wanting to learn this should never give up, but keep at it, no matter how much they flub along the way to getting it the best they can.
This etude is so difficult that there's always a risk of having some missed/flubbed notes, but the passion makes up for it. :)
Woooooww. I don't care missed notes he made. But his performing is incredible. Good performing is not just the right notes but we need more from our heart. Singing...and singing tone
Stop trying to pretend he played this piece to a high quality. The fact is he played it awful.
@@xavierpoh5683 was actually the first etude ive ever learned and even an untrained ear can tell the diffrence between this guy playing this piece and say lukas geniusas or trifonov etc... oh and btw its called a piece not song
@@em8714 dont be so hard on him/her man .. just keep it to yourself
@@xavierpoh5683 It seems to me that it is not the best interpretation of this piece due to the large number of failed notes. however, he remembers that he reached the final.
Oh! Another performance of my favourite piece, and what an awesome one! Just love it!
The audience loved it; so did I!
This rendition is too astonishing to resist being addicted to. It's even more when heard with the previous repertoire, 25-11 whcih was played without a pause.
he was on a time crunch and had to finish up his set.
At 0:35 his finger slips off LOL
Amazing!
T’es le meilleur
He is hardly surviving from the Ocean and that is the power and greatness of the ocean. So for me it is one of the best interpretation, because he fighting with the ocean rather than just depicting his ocean.
wtf
Great job!
He looks like so nerves
-- C'est beau, très beau, épique même. --
He was my winner!!
아름답다
WOW!
This is hell difficult. I played it for 3 months and I gave up. It is impossible. However I can play revolutionary etiude, adn op 10 nr 1. But this one is simply not to overcome.
I'm your opposite, I can play this, but revolutionary etude is way to difficult for me
First learn how to play arpeggios with speed, it requires a lot of drilling and practice, then you can only start to learn this piece otherwise it's a waste of time
I like this interpretation wow !
❤
Lots of bum notes in there I'm sorry ...if u want to here a masterful display I suggest sokolov
Jtm
I dont get pepole. Half them discourage from learning a piece like this until youve been playing for years and years. They discourage taking any sort of leaps from one level to the next but then applaud a performance like this?
I didn"t get your point
Same here
I don't like his style.
