Just for love... I dont own this material. I thank the Traums for making this happen. Видеоклипы
I saw this lineup several times in the Hudson Valley...what a righteous noise! Best live rock band I ever heard.
I visited saugerties last summer I didn't even realize they did stuff up there it makes sense though I guess
@@leahflower9924 Sure does. They were locals.
Amazing version. The Band 4ever. Chills hearing Levon full voice. Saw him many times thru his vocal issues still always brought the roof down on the rambles. Magic Barn memories
Thinking about Levon today. Thanks for all the great music and memories ! RIP Levon, Rick, and Richard ! 🙏
And now we add Robbie to that list. 🙏
Only Garth is left now.
This is so rare and wonderful. So good to see Garth, Rick, and Levon. Unbelievably rare footage. Thank you.
how is is super rare? there is tons of footage of them from their various post-Watlz tours, especially in this era from the 90's
love that Robbie isn’t there. His singing is awful. too many lick he repeats.
I can't believe how many people say in the comments that they where thinking of Levon today I read his book and watched his interviews for years and I to am one of the people who think of Levon today but it is not because of the books or interviews I he had this energy with people he was real and honest and kind and someone on a PBS special a fan remarked she was sitting up front during a concert he would have on his Farm and property that at the end people would stick there hand out to shake his hand and she said to him"you know I just Love you " and he said" I know and I just Love you darlin " he wasn't boasting when he said "I know" so this went on down the line after t and they would tell him how his music touched them and it was if it was the first time he had heard this when he hears it all the time but it was a kind way of making it about them and not himself or the band what a great soul
Great shots of Levon’s odd stick work on high hat and snare......brilliant!!! A GREAT musician!
yes......his style is so unique, basic but with a flair.
The Band, Little Feat, two of the best… by far. Thank you for the posting.
Love it!!!! I was up in Woodstock at a midnight Ramble in early 2012. What an experience. Levon sang the weight. Quite hard bec ause of his throat. Still belted it out and covered the kit very well. Also, the encore was The Weight. One of the most magical intimate music events I have ever attended. Amy Helm was fantastic on vocals as well. Larry Campbell
Levon just gives me goose bumps. And, Garth is simply amazing.
Thats on hell of a jam! Gave me goosebumps. No one beats Garth Hudson!
Thank you for sharing. This is magnificent. So nostalgic. Love The Band forever. ❤🎶
You had to see these guys in person to really appreciate their music and how great it really was!!
I can only imagine! Love them dearly.
This is beyond good. Thanks for posting it. Love The Band!! Garth Hudson getting down on this too…. don't leave Garth out!!!
Please leave Robbie out..
@@foreverwild9298 Why?
@@gregtaylor8327 Robby broke the band
DANKODANKODANKO!... great Soul of this Band
Funkiest Cripple Creek ever ... and the those drums have been sampled many times :)
Really love it!
The Band, the canadian-american Beatles,
Really,THE BAND BY FAR BEST EVER.
Wow! Just stumbled across this. Incredible version!
Levon!!! The best drummer ever!
Rodrigo Barros
YASSSS!!!!! Levon was always in point!!
with the beat and the lyrics!!! idk anyone else that can do that....well don Henley but fuck him...
I never the best of any musician but yeah Levon. He's REALLY REALLY good.
Daniel Landry Neil Peart
Neil Peart is a GREAT,GREAT drummer.Same with Levon.I'll guarantee you that neither man could play what the other man played with the same feel.I'll use another example with guitar players.Who was the better guitar player, Duane Allman or Les Paul? Neither. Its just something that can't be won like sports.
yaaay
Rare, priceless, one of the best groups ever thank you for sharing.
wow what a rare find, thanks to the poster and RUclips....miss Rick Danko greatly
Trev Mac I miss both rick and levon deeply too.
The Bass sounds so friggin good. Rick Danko one of the greats of all time.
WOW !!! FANTASTIC !! Thank you so much !!! Let's see some of these , so called artists, do this today , live !!!!!
Notice Levon's choice of bass drum placement 1 & 2, 3 & 4... He did a lot of stuff like that which really added to the unique feel he already had.
I love this great band!!!
One of the best group with so much talent!!
it simply CAN NOT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS the music has no equal
rip richard, rick, Levon. the best BAND ever
Oh man you ain’t kidding’!!! Ain’t nobody can saaaang like levin helm.
BOB DYLAN,S BAND FOREVER ¡¡¡
And garth
He's behind the whole sound on the clavinet
@@roalziroalzi
They were Ronnie Hawkins band first.
this is so great. such a talented group of guys
I just love it Levon and Rick magic
Levon's precision is wonderful....... What a tune!!!!!!!
A toon don't have words. This is a song, with a dude singing it.
The bass licks on this song are unbelievably nasty. Rick Danko is one of the greats.
ootoobings Theres no one that plays like rick levon and richard. Garth and robbie are also rare flowers but you only need to hear the rythm section in a buzzy bar to know that it is the band somewhere in the distance.
@@rimmersbryggeri ppl
He was a very good player. Playing with Levon helped too. Two peas in a pod.
Absolutely, One of a kind one of a kind! Hope you're doing well my friend
Well that was amazingly quick! Thank you
Thank You for posting this! Thought I'd seen all the Band videos - not this one! Great stuff 😊!
Levon was the only drummer I know of, that instead of drumming the beat and keeping time and rhythm, played his drums like an instrument other than drums. If that made sense. It is hard to explain. But like his intro to this song. It was more than percussion.
That said, the Band were so good. They marked an iconic change in music. Not only that. They established and led it.
@Skyler Green Thank you. That's what I was trying to say. Peace.
Levon sang his part as he played it.
Totally agree!
Yes !!! Like Mickey Hart , except even better !!!!
@@jebbass Thanks. I am glad someone connected. Lol! Now I don't feel like a complete blathering idiot. 😅😅. Peace.
Absolutely one of my favorite bands.
Three cheers from over heres. I often have Levon in my heart when I play the drums. God bless em all. Feels like I knew em.
Thanks for posting this. Love the band they kick ass live.
my all time favourite drummer
The Band was a Canadian-American roots rock group formed in Toronto, Ontario in 1968 by Rick Danko (bass guitar, vocals), Garth Hudson (keyboards), Richard Manuel (piano, vocals), Robbie Robertson (guitar), and Levon Helm (drums, vocals).
Rock music's very, very best live show was "The Last Waltz" and yet we so very, very rarely ever hear this overwhelming FACT spoken or given the credit it deserves!
Man do I miss Levon, Rick, and Richard. In my heart, Richard was an absolute tragedy. I miss them all, and I favored Levon and Rick of them all, but Richard's life is a real heart breaker. He was such a genuine, down to earth, great brother.
Jack
Canada born in Toronto 1962
the last waltz ~ incomparable
I appreciate now how important Rick dankos backing vocals were
they started as "the band" in 66 or 67,they were already playing gigs(such as the Winterland) in 67 under the name the band
@@chrisduke9742 before that they were Bob Dylan’s backing band when he went electric in the mid 60s.
@@ptkelly80 and before that they were ronnie hawkins band in the late 50’s and early 60’s
In a nutshell brilliant funky , soulful music, talent personified 🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼
I've listened to various versions of this song literally thousands of times. Never gets old.
Real legends,RIP, RICK , RICHARD,AND LEVON, and long live Garth and Robbie, what a BAND.
Hate writing this, but RIP, ROBBIE,I WISHED YOU AND GARTH LONG LIFE 4 DAYS AGO, in remembrance of levon and Rick, and Richard, RIP, guys, you'se were BROTHERS in music, and long live GARTH, the last piece of the gigsaw of musical history made in our lifetimes, .
Wow! These guys had natural talent!
WOW!!!!! Thank you so much!
Levon was such a soulful Dude... drummin & singin was all part of one heck of a groove for this man - and yes, Danko one of the stankin best!
Rick never got justice his voice bass good times caught them twice and Rick Danko and freinds a few on the Hollywood circuit.❤
Always loved this band even when Robbie left. I didn't miss him
Well they kept singing his songs.
This is killer!
Levon, Rick and Garth kickin' ass.
✌💀👍🎸🎵🎶🧠🌌♾⚡
I remember jamming out to this tune on my way to work back in '88. & , back then, it was old school! Such an amazing song!
Love the Band, best ever for sure.I enjoyed watching this.
Excellent rendition. Two thumbs up!
That was one funky rendition.
"The Band." A TEAM, playing to their strengths resulting in pure magic. A spark that only they could extinguish....and they did.
I got The Band LP back in the 1970's. LOVE it!
early ninetys? it's great to see them all playin, Jim Weider, home town woodstock boy, laying it down right where it's at!
Such a funky tune could be shared by 3 drummers at the same time!
And why not by the 1000 drummers for that matter?
I love and miss Levon and the boys. Not sure how Garth is doing? Such a big part of my life listening to them growing up.
Thank You!
This is from Levon's instructional drum video from 1990. There's some really great stuff on that, even for non-drummers.
This is my favorite version of this song.
Unbelievably, it's got the same structure and number of verses as The Weight.
@@ervinthompson6598 always was disappointed half were missed in the last waltz
@@SuperDecdog you can find alternate concert footage of the waltz on yt now :^)
G D I can relate. Makes me that I was alive in this period of music. Made the world a better place .
Love Levon, best voice and drummer ever. Could listen to him all day. The other boys are totally awesome as well.
A pure heart for musical vibrations.
Amazing, I saw the band at
Carnegie hall.
I’m 73 now and hope to shake hands with Levon and Rick.love this song and

Este som é absolutamente fantástico!
Thank you.
I spent a week with them up in Hamilton Ontario in the 60s. Still awesome
Hell, what a groove !!!
awesome... all gone now.... but we have the songs.
outstanding
Pure groove pure pocket
I love this Band!!!
Nice! How can you not like it. Great stuff!
Back in the day, if I heard a song I'd never heard on the radio, if it was the Band, I instantly recognised their distinctive sound.
This gotta be early 90's methinks ... same lineup as thir European Tour in '94 that my band opend for and I tour managed ... minus Richard Bell who came on board after Richard Manuel died. Garth called the tour "the Wheelchairs on Fire Tour" 🙂
Garth Hudson is still alive. Rick superstar Danko died in his sleep. Robbie Robertson is living. Levon, sweet Levon, knocked on Heaven's door and got in with a wide, wide berth. xxxox
beautiful.
Garth and Danko laying down serious FUNK!!!
great version
The band is really a great band
So it should be called
The Great Band
