I was one of those kids that shunned Digimon what was obsessed with Pokemon LOL that being said I do have a Digimon card collection... not quite as expansive but I'm going to have to bust it out and see what I have now
Man I used to watch it as a kid more than pokémon the anime was hella better for me to say the least. Yugi has the best cards and pokémon created the best game ever lol seems fair huh. I'm enjoying the content Nick keep up the good stuff!
Definitely number one, but don’t sleep on HerculesKabuterimon or Vikemon. Wargrowlmon was also pretty cool. I almost forgot these existed before this video
Digimon: exists Pokemon: *our attorney is contacting you now. you'll have limited time to respond until you're included in this matter and will be served*
Digimon was quite big here in Finland yes, I remember those cards from my childhood. I think half of my room was pokemon stuff and half was digimon. Then at some point I ended up with beyblades and gogos.
digimon was my jam back in the day too, loved Saturday cartoon memories, you should try get some of the new sets they are amazing and would love to see you open some on this channel as well as pokemon
2 years late but for those that don' t know, Digimon did not come after pokemon, I mean the anime and games under the brand Digimon did, but they first started as V-Pets, Tamagochi that could battle, you see Bandai creates Tamagochi but they were not very popular with boys, so came the V-Pets, these started small and cute like a Tamagochi, but could grow and evolve into ferocious beasts that would battle. As was popular back in the day, branding later came in the way of Manga, and an anime, figures etc, They were not just V-Pets though, they were Digital Monster V-Pets, that's how you know they were "cool" and marketed for boys, Digimon naturaly became the abbreviation as Digital Monsters is a bit long, and Digimon is more marketable. The Pokemon games were and still are monster collecting RPG's, Digimon was trying to do it's own thing. Even the first big game, Digimon World, if you try it you'll see it's Tamagochi, with many possible evolution lines depending on how you raise the Digimon, with a narrative and world to explore. It's not about being the very best, or a champion, usually it's more of a save the Digital World/ Real World or Both kind of story. I grew up with both and love both franchises, and will always strive to let people know both series are very different if you go beyond the surface level "came out around the same time, has a similar name and also has cool monsters that grow and evolve". Pokemon was inspired by bug collecting, Digimon by pet raising, both are awesome in my book!
Nice intro man! these cards where a huge nostalgia trip for me. I broke my pelvis when I was young and I'll always remember my mom and brother buying me about a booster box worth of packs brought them to the hospital. I was so messed up because of the medication the doctors where giving my 12 year old self but enjoyed the experience ( also grew up in the midwest Minnesota )
I still have my handful of both animated series digimon and series 1 digi battle cards in the back of my 1999 Pokemon binder haha. Finally getting around to learning about what old sealed product costs. Would be so cool to own a sealed booster box of series 1. I for one liked Digimon even more than Yugioh, although of course I had the Blue eyes deck and Dark Magician deck. The Digimon anime series 1st season was outstanding.
Love these videos man, I would love to see some yu-gi-ho. Juat a suggestion, could you maybe stick up the name of what cards we are looking to appear, or what we are hoping to see. It adds to the thrill. Maybe even a quick text screen with them on it.
The difference between Pokemon and Digimon is that Pokemon has only three evolution's were Digimon has four evolution's. In the Digimon cartoons they started as eggs and evolved in to bouncing heads and then evolved in to graymon. And so on
Bro if you like the digimon series you should give cyber sleuth a try. It was on ps4 but they rereleased bundle on the switch as well. Def worth a play through
With digimon, theres been like 3 or 4 TCGs as opposed to Pokémon which has been the same game for 25 years, so you've had that many crashes and busts. Iirc, Europe it was more popular. I forget the whole story but that's about the gist of it. It's pretty decent to play too. I cant remember what the rarity spread is. I almost wanna say that some packs won't have rares? Early Japanese games tcg were brutal. The original YGO (OCG) was the worst. They might even be "true random" vs modern games where they print all the cards in a set then scramble the order and repeat for print runs to ensure that you don't get screwed. I have a few of these rattling around but my big draw was the video games. Had the tomogatchi and Digimon World 1 and 2. The new game is a bit of a wild story, it was never meant to release outside of Japan, but western fans started translating it and playing online with covid. Bandai saw money and fast tracked an English release. It's pretty fun and straight forward too. I love opening old product. I make a point to drop by the 'dead card games' booth at GenCon every year to just grab whatever catches my eye for cheap and dick around with friends. So Medabots cards and mini figs when?
I enjoyed this a lot. I fucked with Digimon both the cards and the show. I remember getting a super rare on vacay in Florida as a kid and ruining it in the pool the same night 😅 one of my worst memories
@@nicksstrengthandpokemon6353 Oh okay, wouldn't have thought it would apply to Pokémon/Digimon though since it's still very different from real life obviously
A TON of fake cards for both digimon and Pokémon come out of Europe. Hope these cards are real. Tbh the packs themselves don’t look real with that long smooth end but I could be totally wrong and they could just look that way for non US markets cause US market booster packs don’t look like that
Nah. Pokémon existed prior to digimon. The first cards ever were printed in like 95’ I think. Digimon didn’t come around until 97’. The funny thing is that the names are the only real similarity. Conceptually the ideas are very different.
Who else was into Digimon as a kid? Comment below!!
You can bearly say the names, emagine kids that can bearly speak english.
I was one of those kids that shunned Digimon what was obsessed with Pokemon LOL that being said I do have a Digimon card collection... not quite as expansive but I'm going to have to bust it out and see what I have now
Digimon world for ps1 was the shit

Omg I forgot all about that shit it was sick
Wargreymon was the coolest Digimon by far
You got it man
Definitely number one, but don’t sleep on HerculesKabuterimon or Vikemon. Wargrowlmon was also pretty cool.
I almost forgot these existed before this video
Best one
Naah you don't know Dukemon!
Wrong! Puppetmon was the coolest Digimon by faaaar! 😄

Pokemon: *our attorney is contacting you now. you'll have limited time to respond until you're included in this matter and will be served*
Thanks Nick you got me digging through my garage going through all my old tote boxes trying to find my flip books full of Pokemon and Digimon cards
Digimon was quite big here in Finland yes, I remember those cards from my childhood. I think half of my room was pokemon stuff and half was digimon. Then at some point I ended up with beyblades and gogos.
Always been into pokemon and liked Digimon growing up so it's cool to see these cards again. Wasn't into YuGiOh myself
digimon was my jam back in the day too, loved Saturday cartoon memories, you should try get some of the new sets they are amazing and would love to see you open some on this channel as well as pokemon
Foils are actually suppose to be 1 per every 3 packs. Well foils or gold kettering

The Digimon game on PS1 was absolutely quality... Loved that

The circles are common the squares are uncommon and the triangles are rare and the chase cards are metal graymon is the rare chase card
Very cool dude!! Very nice art work on some of those cards!
Where did you find THE ORIGINAL cards???
Funko pops for easy sealed investments brother! They retail at 10-12$ and there's funkos for a ton of things
Thanks for sharing this with us. :) I just put some sealed Digimon in the cart for purchase soon. 😎
Love these videos man, I would love to see some yu-gi-ho.
Juat a suggestion, could you maybe stick up the name of what cards we are looking to appear, or what we are hoping to see. It adds to the thrill. Maybe even a quick text screen with them on it.
I got a full set of the animate series.
The card list for booster 1 was on the other side of the paper lol
My memory stems from the digi battle cards, I used to love collecting them as a kid
Every time you say your intro line I swear your about to say “Nicks strength and power”😂. Love the video man!
I liked Digimon as a kid as much as Pokémon and yugio, this channel really makes me regret not keeping my cards 😂😂😂😭😭😭 lol
Nick bro do you want me shining charizard?
Yes lol
@@nicksstrengthandpokemon6353 Respond on instagram bro I got a shining charizard and a bunch of other dope shit I found
Oh man. I got back into Yu-Gi-Oh through lockdown and it's dangerous man haha

Bro if you like the digimon series you should give cyber sleuth a try. It was on ps4 but they rereleased bundle on the switch as well. Def worth a play through
My dad loved Digimon when I was a kid. I’m almost certain it was because it wasn’t as popular Pokémon.
Awesome video dude love pokemon and digimon
Ultimate level just refers to what evolution they are
I love this content pokemon and digimon they both are nostalgic.

Yeas dudeee
I've been looking for the new set
it's sold out everywhere bro
Digimon sets were only 50 something cards a set.

Watching this while waiting for my new Hidden Fate tins to arrive 🙌😂

Digimon Let's Gooo Homie 🔥💥🔥💥🔥💥🔥💥🔥
Crack them blue eyes white dragons!
Crack the yugioh packs!
Lmfao I fell in the category of kids who wasn't allowed to watch this 😂😂
As a kid I always wanted digimon cards, but they were so fucking expensive 😅
Hell ya
Dude if you do digimon too you have to mtg by default
I’m pretty sure you got scammed. Box looks worned out with no plastic wrapping. Plus you had absolutely no hits lol.
In my opinion it would be more enjoyable if you didn't read every card name out loud. Great Content regardless
Why would Christian parents not allow their kids to watch the Digimon/Pokémon anime because of Evolution??? I don't understand, can you explain Nick?
Strict Christians don’t believe in evolution they don’t want it being indoctrinated to their kids at a young age

I've gotten some other digimon packs from various international sellers and they all seem to have that long smooth top
Digimon was pretty sweet, but need MORE Yugioh.
Nick got to much money he gonna buy all the cards and not save any for us
Digimon came out first :( not pokemon
