This is the type of video I like to see. The money. I started a new job at a game company on December 15, and I am saving up money to be able to finally modify my 2016 Genesis Coupe 3.8. I am considering either a built 2.0 motor, or LS swap someday. I would need a shop to do it though.
@Randy Pender That's what I'm doing. Really trying to decide between supercharger or turbo. Getting the motor ready first. Wanted to buy a new car, but figured instead of a car pymt I'd just use that $$ to improve mine.
I want to do a 1uz swap at first i wanted 2jz but decided against it. Im still trying to figure out how things will hookup though wire harness and other stuff
What exhaust manifold or headers did you use? I have the oem exhaust manifold on my ls swap the issue is the passenger side fits fine but the driver side hits the steering linkage or whatever it’s called , was thinking about block huggers but don’t think those would work either
Just picked up a 2011 genesis w/ ls1 t56 swap done to it, but its not 100% complete. I have speedometer & fuel gauge but nothing else... NO Tach, oil pressure, fuel pressure, a/f gauges what would be your recommendation?
The wiring harness I used is part of the Holley terminator kit and included in the price to run the engine. I still have the Hyundai computer and harness to run the rest of the car

How’s your job going
Why not build the bottom end and turbo charge the 3.8? Be a Korean GTR

@@godzilla7391 supercharger is a waste if youre doing a 3.8 build i dont see how theres even a decision to turbo it or not
@@officialaustenmorpho3224 rspec ryan has a 500whp 3.8 turbo genny if i remember correctly. Its pretty dope
lol,I found out quick theres no such thing as a "budget swap". Just a "least financially painful" swap.
Gotta have that homie when doing an engine install :D.
Great video with an excellent breakdown of realistic prices. well categorized too.
Subbed for a bad ass build. Nice work!
sick video the editing was great
Appreciate it!

Very nice build man
I’m doing a 5.3 lsa swap In my 2016 Genesis sedan. This should be fun.Lol
would this build fit with the bk2? i imagine it would right?
What exhaust manifold or headers did you use? I have the oem exhaust manifold on my ls swap the issue is the passenger side fits fine but the driver side hits the steering linkage or whatever it’s called , was thinking about block huggers but don’t think those would work either
I used this kit from eBay: Turbo Hotparts T4 Kit Turbocharger Vortec 4.8 5.3 6.0 FOR Silverado Sierra LSX
@@whatsgoodgarage that kit looks like the headers are pretty similar to stock ones, and you have no clearance issues with the steering shaft?
@@gunnermaison24 no issues with the steering fits pretty well for me

Are you trying to reuse any factory gauges? Or install aftermarket style ones?
Went with aftermarket water temp, oil pressure & tach
I could have missed it but what about the wiring harness Did you have to make one or
The wiring harness I used is part of the Holley terminator kit and included in the price to run the engine. I still have the Hyundai computer and harness to run the rest of the car
Holly kit I used was 1600 cad

Did they reuse any part of the old driveshaft?
Yeah I used the end that connects to the diff that’s it
Thank you
What exhaust manifolds did you go with?
Fairbanks Alaska seems like id be more north than you brother
What ecu are you running?
Holley terminator thing is a beast
Depends who you know and how much your willing to pay for something, definitely hope I don't have to spend that much
Definitely 20 or more
💪🔥

Sikky has an LS swap kit and they support ls1-ls9 no mod to subframe so i think youre good to pick whatever youd like
T56 seems to be the most popular trans i see going into these tho
I have LQ9 engine CD009 transmission with a LOJ adapter kit
So yeah i cant afford a swap xD
If $17k American then would be $25k Canadian $$.
all prices are in CAD
🚣♂️
Do you have a/c?
Not hooked up yet but compressor and condenser are in the car
i'm also from alberta thinking about LS swapping by BK2. Message me i'd love to have some insight on what to expect.
