Those genesis’s are eeeeeasy. Doing it within 4-5 hours isnt hard. Its even quicker to take off the hood and to put a jack under the trans and leave that in the car and you dont have to bleed the clutch and mess with the ac just move the compressor out of the way
@@altonb93it's underrated how easy they are to work on. I had a boosted 3.8 I'm currently in the process of replacing. I'm curious how the 3.3T would work.
Should of replaced the turbo if that much metal was on the drain plug your gonna have some in the turbo, at least blow the turbo lines out. Speaking from experience.
First off excellent content! I love the editors style it makes the videos entertaining and educational! However, y’all took way too much off to pull that motor!!! Trans can stay in and front clip and she comes right out the top! :)
Is this the same for most cars? I have a Nissan cefiro A32 1995 and it has a tick. Mechanic I went to told me it’s the timing chain (my make and model used both belt AND chain and my car doesn’t have a manual on hand so it’s a shot in the dark as to which). He quoted me $2k to fix the chain as the engine HAS to come out the bottom due to the size and work needed. Then he accused me of putting the wrong oil in (showed him the mechanics paperwork and he admitted it was all correct). Then told me to sell the car. Lol. Another mechanic told me the first one was trying to rip me off but did not want to answer if the labour cost was a valid quote. Can’t tell if I have bad luck with mechanics or if the first dude was right and I should get rid of it.
@@jaymekarinadepends on the car. if it’s old and rather unreliable, get rid of it, but if it’s old and serves you well for years without major issue, i’d fix it and keep it. I have a neon that is a nightmare to work on under the hood but besides the $1k heat job it needs, i haven’t had many major issues for a 20+/yr old shitbox.
Hello I saw this video and great job But I have a question I own a 91 prelude si 4ws and my fan just randomly come on can u help or point me in the direction to repair it Thx u
I need to know what the name of that background song that is constantly playing in the background, cause that sh🦆 is gonna live in my head rent free for life
Warning- Do. Not. Buy. A. Hyundai, *previously a senior tech for Hyundai, and I can’t tell you how many of these motors I replaced under 60k miles!! No hyundai will escape this flaw, the motors are the worst in the industry.
It’s people doing things incorrectly and not taking care of them. Your focus would have the same problems if not taken care of correctly or if you did shoddy jobs and repairs. Cars need love!
one thing that has always puzzled me is how they know what the torque specs are for every bolt. I'm sure they cut it out, but is it the size of the bolt or is it written in some massive book??
thank you so much, im slowly getting into mechanic stuff, and since im mostly learning by myself, getting torque specs has seemed like the most dawning thing to me so far@@ememsonic
@@bakamabo3211A lot of it comes from them doing the same cars over and over. When I worked at a local JDM specialist, I had a bank of torque specs for different bolts in my head, and over time it came naturally. I always rechecked at the start of each job to make sure they hadn't changed or I'd misremembered them, but 99% of the time it was spot on. Don't worry mate, it comes with time. The vehicle workshop manual is your friend, it has a list if you ever get stuck.
Bro became the grim reaper sending souls down to the abyss 💀
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Editor needs a raise with these videos 😂
Good job on the videos guys
Dude is Mr Miyagi of the car industry.
I love the nods to skyrim. There so random but so well placed.
That Genesis got a better beat than 90% of them rappers out there.
You guys make it look easy swapping an engine meanwhile mine has been seating for a year 😢
There was also like 5 people doing the work lol

Flambé free of charge! 😂
Those spiders stood no chance!
Love seeing the del sol in back. Got a rolling chassis of a 93 sitting out back. Keep up the hard work ❤
Whoever edits these videos needs a fucking raise 😅
Bro I just keep coming back to the concept 3 videos , shoutout the youngins and will at the shop

4:17 Wills training with Mr. Miyagi coming into fruition for killing spiders.

I love your guy's content! thank you for the uploads :3!

but did the customer want to pay for a new turbo?
You were thinking of dielectric grease
I never understood how some of these older mechanics work without some kind of headlight. Dude I got like 3 different set of headlights.
Right?! I got a drawer full of them 😂
Ngl you guys got that out quick. Suspiciously quick. No harness issues. Surprise fluid issues. No stubborn bolts.
that pumping trans edit got me LOL
what was that weird noise in the end?
Keep doing videos man y’all funny af
Bro I was thinking they should get a flame thrower and next thing you know comes out with a makeshift one 💀
Badass video! But I was wondering What was the issue at the end making the sound?
They said something about the AC compressor.
It’s a blowoff valve to release pressure in the ac system if it’s under too much pressure
The cardboard tip for the bolts is so good.
I wanna work there, looks fun af (I have 0 mechanic experience)
Hugging my BK2 a little tight today. 😂 maybe this video is a sign mine is going out soon too. 😭
The "Simba" really got me^^
Damn, peep Hotel California in the background
Bro just had to charge up that flame thrower power up😂
😅
I'm a simple man, I see a three stooges reference, I subscribe.👍

I see another hyundai mechanic in comments has appeared. And yea they took way to much. Hood off and out it comes

I used to know a dude with that same color Del Sol, I didn't realize it was factory, tripped me out.
what trans jack is that? mine needs new seals but it's so old and abused that i cant get he model to order new seals. Thanks in advance!
This master mechanic is amazing 😂😂😂😂😂
Well done!!!
I can imagine the group chat these all have together. Full of memes and abusive texts to eachother 😂😂😂😂
The destruction skill killed me
fire vid bro you guys are hilarious 🔥
Warranty R&R time on that engine is less than 8 hours so you have to do it in one day if you want to make money
im a mechanic myself and I replace a lot of escalade engines, we usually leave the trans in, why did you take it out?
The cardboard thing is the 😂 sick one 7:12
Your guys seem kinda lost, i would like to apply here 😂
That torch was baller
Hey man do you think i can buy a brand new genesis coupe manual transmission in 2024 ?
How much did y’all charge??I’m literally getting my motor swapped out too same knock and everything😭
Not the flame thrower 😂😂😂
I love the Pokemon music in the background lol 😂
Did they use the same motor or a different one?
I have a genesis 2013 motor blew if I would to want to ls swap can I keep the same transmission or would I have to change it ? Serious question
I got my engine rebuilt completely and they used the same transmission 2012 2.0t
I love these videos
i always see the videos on tik tok i never knew there was a youtube channel
that car tells better knock knock jokes than some comedians
Yall hiring?? Looks like an awesome workplace and boss
Curious how much would this cost and what if it was a 3.8 instead?
Sounds like a gas stove trying to ignite 😂
Was that a green del sol in the back?
You can get the trans out with the engine if you get out the front like you already do and is more easy less job to do
The duck 😂😂😂
I love the Pokémon music😂
i love the videos n content! but man yall need a new camera
This vehicle in Canada would've taken lots of swearing and atleast 2 days with all the rust
how much did it cost to do?
Curious why they didn’t just drop the subframe
it's the pokemon music every time for me
What kind of watch is he wearing?

Mr Miyagi 😂
I need to know what the name of that background song that is constantly playing in the background, cause that sh🦆 is gonna live in my head rent free for life
Pokécenter music from the Pokemon games I think
Lol the irony of the Japanese imperial flag on the back of a Genesis
I had that song stuck in my head all day to day 🤦🏻
Those a cool cars but way hard to find coupes.
It's not the seatbelt bro, it's always the knot that goes...

I need the subtitles 😢
Who's del sol is that
I’m just curious, my question is why doesn’t anyone wear safety glasses while under the car 🚘🚙🥽👓😂
Did this mf just say simmba?!😂😂😂
Didnt need to pull the trans or bumper and radiator
Dielectric grease 😂
Genesis coup engine swap
My focus has never had these issues. I love Japanese performance, but why so many failures??
It’s people doing things incorrectly and not taking care of them. Your focus would have the same problems if not taken care of correctly or if you did shoddy jobs and repairs. Cars need love!
