Zhandos Mansurov heifetz is a better violinist but I find this interpretation to capture the feel of Gershwin better.
I completely agree, Valerie. Having played the opera many times I could really hear Daniel's deliberate vocalism, and the playful bluesy beat patterns that Daniel really let speak. Heifetz was always about a kind of steely brilliance that misses some of the humanity of Sportin' Life.
