    Woah the photography in this is 10/10
    The lighting, contrast, colours, framing, as well as some peculiar moments like the backlit shot with the puffs of rosin "smoke" rising, and the close up on the fingerboard where you can actively see the strings vibration, pretty insane!
    And fits the playing very well!

    Finally someone not afraid to put the foot-stomping schmaltz back into violin playing. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy the shifts. That’s one of the hallmarks of the violin, it’s ability to take your breath away with stunning shifts. Not everyone can do them well, and many that can sterilize them to the point where there’s no further excitement. Their killing the violin’s selling point - it’s the shifts stupid. Give us the schmaltz. Is that so hard? Even Heifetz was rather schmaltzy. Todays violinists don’t have a clue. So, Thank you!

    👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 What draws me back to this video recording and captivates me are the stunning visuals - high quality (as usual for Daniel), expert use of different cinematic angles, and his visual expression of the beautiful music that he’s playing - through movement, posture, facial expression, choice of venue, and colors, among other things. I can’t help but feel uplifted, and I imagine others must feel the same.

Not just great music making but recording and video quality as well. Happy to see you making good music on the regular. And dude, your playing is really awesome, I'm glad we got to work together back in the day

    Good morning Daniel, this is Yasmine from Kuwait. I have a question regarding vibrato. Some teachers encourage using arm vibrato, and somewhat avoid the wrist vibrato. In general, is using arm vibrato better than using wrist?

    • @DanielKurganov
      @DanielKurganov  3 года назад +6

      I think it’s best to learn both. In my experience, there are situations in which primarily wrist might work better, and others in which primarily arm. If you focus on only one, I would say wrist vibrato is more versatile and more beautiful. There is no ‘wrong’ answer here at the end of the day.
