Daniel, I will never understand this phenomenon, a Jew playing with the best Hungarian taste and intimacy music! And Szigeti was the really best example! Don’t forget, this is the old Szigeti, when he was young he was amazing!!! Beethoven, Brahms, Bruch, Prokofiev, …etc…

Maybe a Hungarian Jewish. Why not?
That is no problem. He was a great violinist!

This is a dumb, offensive comment. He was Hungarian, what difference if he was a Jew?

His left hand is fantastic (right too of course) with the enormously long little finger. Look at 05:02 where he supports the other fingers with his little finger on the soundboard.

I think that was actually him missing the fingerboard :)

Simply marvelous. Do you know when was this recorded? What orchestra is CBC? Considering who the conductor is, it probably means Canadian Broadcasting Company or something like that.

Add Miron Poliakin, Ida Haendel, Gitlis, Perlman (how could you omit him of all ??!), Zuckerman, Hirshhorn, Norbert Brainin (the legendary 1st violin in Amadeus) to the list, and it would yet be incomplete… !
