The iPhone images are so gritty and dark in comparison. Even though the Xiaomi messed up the focus a bit, I still think the overall image looks so much more pleasing 1:33. I had the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and then went back to iPhone 13 Pro because I prefer iOS but I still miss the camera. The iPhone can take good photos too but all too often they end up just looking dull, bland, gritty, yuk. The Xiaomi wasn't as consistent but man, when it took a good photo, it was phenomenal. I still have a few of them saved and holy cow, they are crisp and natural and truly beautiful shots. I haven't gotten a single shot on my 13 Pro that matches the best photos I took on the Mi 11 Ultra.
Man i liked the colours on Xiaomi 12s Ultra...hope they improve the processing of the photos
10:21 This shot "from the Xiaomi phone" looks like how "nightography" photo should have looked like in Apple's event, and yes it is scary as hell. Xiaomi takes Apple'ish style of night photo with the best quality ever on a smartphone. Exposure and colors are unstable in daytime photos though. Apple has more realiable camera system.
But if you're a night owl, love the clubbing scene or live in Canada where it gets dark at 4 or 5pm in the winter, the Xiaomi camera is more reliable

Jokes aside I preferred your other test video where you compared nighttime photos of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, iPhone 14 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Google Pixel 7 Pro.

Great video, I just want to suggest you to change the word footage for photo / picture when talking about static images as footage means video.
I would have also like to see at least a few shots in Leica authentic so we could judge for ourselves if we prefer it or not.

you mentioned a lot about the Xiaomi's Leica vibrant mode.. why didn't you considered turning on the Vibrant mode from the photograpic styles on the iphone to have a more comparable comparison
Looking at the results of the test photos we take and also comments from the viewers, we just try to do what the majority of people think is better. Nevertheless, really good point! We'll have to do some more tests.
That would actually legitimately be pointless. The 'Leica Vibrant' is actually the default mode the xiaomi shoots in, it is the 'Standard' mode. Turning on the Vibrant photographic style on the iPhone would only make the photos look a bit more saturated and not really change anything.

You can install Gcam (LMC 8.4) on 12s Ultra and get something like Pixel 7 Ultra. Night photos on LMC are MUCH better comparing to MIUI Camera.

@@MsApog haha that's not the same. You won't get now playing and many pixel integrated features that are hard to port. I'm a custom rom developer. And for 1000$+ i don't wanna use custom roms

Wait for the iOS 16.1 update for the 14 pro max, apple had some tweaking to do to the cameras , the last update 16.0.3 fix the battery drain issue a lot and the new one coming next week Monday will adjust a few camera problems

I have the 14 PM and s22 Ultra and I am not impressed with PM HDR. It's quite lackluster and has to be blamed to apples lack of experience with pixel binning, it's year 0 whereas the samsungs of the world have been doing it atleast for a 4 years, so now you know

Look versus not only you stand with apple devices i understand that maybe for the luxury of this brand or maybe you have a cooperation with apple.
It's obvious when xiaomi uses leica authentic you and apple fans say it's soft we need something vibrant and iphone start to add fake hdr and blueish sky and people like it.
When xiaomi uses leica vibrant you and apple fans will say oh xiaomi colors are so punshy not like natural colors of iphone so whatever xiaomi add multiple options for people it can't satisfy all of them.
This year xiaomi nailed it in video in terms of colors sharpness details and stabilization it's neck to neck with iphone and in some situations 12 s ultra beat iphone in video.
To me people who were saying that mi 11 ultra is way better than 12 s ultra they're so stupid.

Xiaomi 12 s ultra in all battery drain tests destroyed battery of s22 ultra and one plus 10 pro with less battery size.
In last tests it reached 10 hours screen on under heavy usage.

I've been an iphone user for years but to me 12S Ultra photos look a lot better. What you called detailed is just over sharpening on iphone, which has gone too far recently. On video side, 12S Ultra is oversharpened. Overall, iPhone seems to be more consistent.
iPhone goes way to hard on contrast and is oversharpening.
Out of 11 minutes and 53 seconds, he would only dedicate 53 sec to the night time section. Is that fair? Each and every phone these days takes good shots during the day and therefore it should have been vice versa to what he does over here but lol......

You have 2 choices on 12 s ultra to destroy either iphone or any other flagship device i told him last time to include leica vibrant because people like not all people are impressed with leica authentic most of people like social media pics and punshy colors if not you have leica authentic
Leica Vibrant was simply preferred more by the viewers. Authentic is great for editing later, but I feel the colors also become really dull.
