Haven't seen MKBHD this excited over a smartphone camera for some time now. Good job Xiaomi. There aren't many bad smartphone cameras these days, so having shutter confidence and noiseless low light shots, are top tier bonuses for me. One reason I swopped from a Samsung to a Pixel was because of how every Samsung phone I've used seems to be plagued by slow shutter - caused by the camera app itself, especially when lighting is causing the camera to constantly re-calibrate for whatever reason. (I know this because I used a third party camera app and that slowness wasn't there, so it's not the hardware).
Tbf, this is mostly Sony's job. Xiaomi integrated this sensor into their phone do props for that, but I don't see too much innovation in software from them. @@n27272 xiaomi in terms of software is old, they even have build in apps add's... so for me they try to catching everyone in phone market 1st the try to catch iphones, now samsung naming for me they like doing clickbate names, they used to use note name in their smartphones after samsung note series, so after that choosing this company for me its useless, they got latest sony sensor put in camera and other sensor is old same nice, so this small bugs andd fails will conclude the picture of this smartphone or we have biggest sensor, but other are shit, we have biggest battery but it will last same as other phones 5000mah battery, we have name useb by samsung to mislead you. so conclusion cheap company which style to copy everyone and trying to look like they are leaders... sorry for English.
Also last year they use a Samsung ISOCELL GN2 sensor which was the biggest sensor at the time it came out. To be honest I can go on and on about the problems about Samsung. This company clearly has a bad management because it has a huge potential but they have problems in such areas they should never have. For example they introduced some high-end sensors with very fast focus and minimal shutter speed yet they don't implement those in their own phones for some reason. Such a weird company.
This "hit or miss" thing is typical in photography, I would say. Even with professional DSLRs, you still have to try a bit, know about the settings etc. to get "hits".
Agree. Any camera system has it's own quirks, it's not that hard to figure them out and adapt your capturing accordingly. It's the reason why I think casual 1:1 / side by side shots without further context can be misleading. Change the angle a bit and the results could totally swing in the other direction.
@@Sundara229 I do agree with both of you but I've had an iPhone for 3 months now and I realized I don't have to take three or four pictures anymore. The first one is already great and won't differ that much from the rest.
Adding on to scientia's photography point, it's not surprising to pros or those with DSLR experience that the huge lens on the Xaiomi is the wide angle. To be fair, the average causal won't be able to immediately recall the difference in physical appearance between a bulbous front element of a fisheye or ultrawide compared to a flat front element of a telephoto.
@@sreesanthciby1801 You have to keep in mind that Hasselblad and PhaseOne LEAD the professional studio and editorial photography markets around the entire world. The biggest agencies in the world use only and exclusively either Hasselblads or PhaseOnes cameras. They are not small fish, commercial grade companies like Sony, Leica, Canon, Nikon, Fuji and others... They are the two biggest and worlds leading pro studio camera manufacturers in the world. Having Hasselblad actually engineer, design and install a completely custom lens setup, including the sensor, glass, coatings, focusing motors and so on and so forth, would not be nearly as cheap as having a company like Leica, Zeiss or Sony do it... Also, not to mention that Hasselblad being one of the two biggest world leading studio camera manufacturers, they specialize in medium format cameras and medium format lenses AND to top that off, all of their lenses use leaf shutter technology aka. in-lens shutter, not standard, cheap in-camera body shutter... So for Hasselblad to engineer, design and put AN ACTUAL Hasselblad lens onto a phone, would probably cost more than the phone itself... I mean, their SMALLEST lens for their SMALLEST X system cameras, is a 30mm f3.5 lens and it costs 3,995 EUR! Yes, their smallest lens costs 4,000 EUR! So if they were to manufacture an entire lens for a phone, with THEIR technology, you would probably be looking at a +/-2,000 EUR JUST FOR THE LENS - so the entire phone would probably end up costing more than 3-4 grand... Nobody would buy a 3,000 - 4,000 EUR/USD phone...
@@nogerboher5266 Users want to pay less & get as high quality & service as could. Here Xiaomi have done it with leica. Why we need to think what Hassblad do with their bla bla bla what they capture & all when we just need our thing.
@@VishalPaswan-uy9xk Did you even read my reply to @Sreesanth Ciby? Because it looks like you did not. You need to think and know what ''Hasselblad do with their bla bla bla'' because in order for Hasselblad to engineer, design and manufacture a custom made lens for a mobile phone, it would cost 10 times more to manufacture compared to what it would cost a commercial grade company like Leica to do. If Hasselblad was to engineer and make a mobile phone lens, with a leaf shutter and their own glass elements, focus motor etc., that lens alone would end up costing upwards of 2,000 EUR, which is already in itself 3 to 6 times more expensive than what the average phone costs today - and if you put that 2,000 EUR lens on a phone, you're now looking at a 2,500 - 3,000 EUR mobile phone, with 70 to 80 percent of the cost of that phone being its camera lens... Who the hell would buy a 500 EUR phone with a 2,000 EUR camera lens on the back?! Nobody... Use your brain... Meanwhile, Leica probably made that lens on the back for less than 100-200 EUR per unit - INCLUDING THE IMAGE SENSOR - that's already 10 times cheaper than what it would cost Xiaomi to hire Hasselblad to do. And if you still don't understand, here's a laymans analogy for you; If you were an car manufacturer and you wanted to outsource and have a car chassis made for your car, do you think it would be cheaper to have Renault(Leica) to manufacture a chassis for you or to have Rolls Royce(Hasselblad) manufacture the chassis for you?
@@nogerboher5266 Nobody is putting a Leica/Hasselblad lens on a phone, they advise the lens design and enable the use of their brand on the phone. About the dominance of Hasselblad and PhaseOne I think you are stuck in the past. A lot of companies switched to full frame cameras, more convenient, less expensive. I don't know how you can say Hasselblad with just 210 employees is a big fish against Nikon with 20 thousands. BTW Hasselblad was bought for DJI chinese company years ago.
From a photographer perspective this phone is a beast! Ben from Ben’s review did a side by side compare and it’s capabilities are quite remarkable. Performance wise it feels like its up there with all of the other brands. I don’t really get why the color profiles change that much when switching cameras. Other than that: highly impressed. The bokeh with the sharpness is so nice! Nothing beats optical rollout!
xiaomi just doesn't seem to think matching the colors of the cameras on their multi camera phones is important. I see the same thing with my Mi 9T and it didn't surprise me at all. It's incredibly weird to not try and get them to look at least close to each other
@@dimitrijekrstic7567 Compared to Apple, Xiaomi and their development team is still too young and too inexperienced. Though, I'm very impressed by what they've achieved here.

i had this phone. great photos, but it didnt have the processing power to provide a smooth user experience. panasonic cm1 was great. 1st phone with a 1 inch type sensor. it was a little clunky but the photos were great.
I went from a Samsung Note 8 to a Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro. It was by far my favorite android phone I have had. I currently have a Google Pixel 6 Pro, and I still can say that Xiaomi was my favorite phone. So much for so less compared to price points of other phones. Many bells an whistles. I HATE that there is no real official US carrier (T- Mobile/AT&T) that will support 5G on the bands they have. I only retired my Xiaomi phone because it was only working at the time on a 4G/4G LTE band that the carrier was no longer supporting. I envy the international market. They make amazing phones!
They don't carry Xiaomi phones because the US government has labeled them as a security threat (not the only country to say this). They have been saying over the past, at least three years, not to buy these phones.
Love the leather Matt finish on the back. Makes a classy look all round. Can't help but think how vulnerable that large camera area would be subject to damage on desks etc.
It doesn't touch the table. The phone is leaning on the bottom of the phone and the bottom of the visor. The part where the cameras are doesn't touch the table.
@@HAWXLEADER My HUAWEI mate 40 pro has a similar but less bulgy round camera bump. When I use it without a case, the aluminum frame of the camera bump rubs on surfaces and gets scratched. Luckily the bump is really thin so a normal case, with a slightly thicker edge round the camera, would keep it protected. With MI's design, unless the case has a really thick protective bump around the camera, there is going to be scratching on the edge of the lower half of the bump, with it sitting tilted. It might not affect the lenses, but the frame is going to look real bad.
@@HAWXLEADER that's why I loved the og Find X and the Reno (og & 2nd series) where the latter had that tiny circular bump (looked like a chopped metal ball), that helped protect the already flush lenses on the GG back from scratches. Hey if you like iPhones or Samsung phones You should be happy too, this Will make Apple and Samsung rethink their retail prices
The zoom problem as you said, its not that the View finder does not switch lenses but it has more to do with the electronic stabilization, the Stabilization is cropping into the frame at a different angle on the View finder versus what you actually get in the recording which is a super weird bug, weirder than what you thought is happening.
Yeah, wondered the same thing. The lenses are an inch apart. The difference in framing can't be more than an inch, certainly not a whole plane vanishing with that offset.
I've seen few comparisons in this week and maybe a weak point is the 5x zoom sensor, not really as sharp as the competitors. But perhaps it can be easily fixed via software updates. I really like this phone.
This phone's camera is insane but I just wish that the color quality was a bit more natural and less saturated in certain lighting. But I do hope that this helps push the camera game for other smartphones to use a similar formula and improve upon it
9:42 isn't that EiS problem? its almost impossible if it caused by OiS. in my opinion thats because EiS system failed averaging where is the middle point of too shaky footage by croping the frame, if you can turn off the EiS and that still happen, then what you said is right
This! Many EIS systems simply lag behind as they try to stabilise the footage. More advanced systems predicts the user's intentions to prevent this from happening.
Love this look, I had the Nokia 1020, still think it looked great plus had a good camera for the time. One of my photos was blown up and printed full page size in our local paper and the quality beat a lot of their own photos. Honor have done this round bump too. I use my camera for work every day so this phone is very tempting to try and get yet again a combo of this look, great phone, and Leica lens.
8:59 I think what happened here is the 'Stabilization Cropping' When we zoomed in too much, the video shakiness increases exponentially. To mitigate that, I think the software cropped portion of the original video (where you had the plane in focus) and stabilised the cropped part by fixating it to still object in the image (here, the clouds) which eventually resulted in you losing the plane from the footage. Ideally, the software should've kept the plane in frame and should've tried to stable things around it. But maybe it didn't work here. If I remember correctly this kind of process is used in many video editing softwares that feature video stabilization. Even Google photos offers something like this. I could be completely wrong with this. But it was cool to think about it.
@@OXIR that couldn't be case as the color shifts when it hits the 5x mark , if i may guess it would be that the telescopic lens uses its ois to match the frame of the main lens and keep it a bit to the left with the help of ois.

Re: not getting everything in focus when you're up close. Strange to me that there haven't been any attempts (to my knowledge) of adding a kind of automatic focus-stacking feature. Many cameras have an assisted mode for this already, and with all the money being spent on computational photography I would think this would be an area of interest. Maybe there just haven't been enough phone cameras that had hardware that was really capable of shallow DOF.
I like your suggestion. I used to often need to take clear photos of barcodes up close, and they'd always blur toward the edges like that. The best I could do was tell the camera to focus between the middle and edge or do 2x zoom and pull back a bit.
Variable aperture should have solved this already. Samsung Note 10 was the last one to have that feature and it would have really helped now with large camera sensors.
@@v3xman does a variable aperture take multiple bracketed photos instantly, or does it mean that the aperture itself has the ability to change shape or warp?
Impressive cameras module with truly class leading detail rendering. If only Xiaomi had its own standard color profile, then allowed users to implement the Leica color science modes when they wanted. That would be solve the color shifting between lenses. From what I've read, the 12S Ultra is only intended for release in China (so far). If sold globally, it could become a major hit with photographers and content creators (who could afford the rather steep price tag.
It seems like with the big sensor it could really use an option to stop down the lens to reduce the depth of field sometimes. The bokeh looks fine but sometimes I'd want to see close up details and distant details in focus at the same time.
Can’t say enough how much I appreciate you mentioning how this does on moving subjects. I have two young kids and literally all I do it photograph them, often in middling indoor light. Most reviews really don’t mention this. Like the galaxy ultra line is awful for taking photos of kids and most reviewers just say the camera is great.
Yeah, vivo also has motion tracking, but the best part, pro sports mode...just bought vivo x80, was shocked that i managed to take unblurry photos of my kids playing indoor.
Most reviewers are not middle aged people with kids. This is not as much a consideration for them. For you and me it's a deal breaker. I have a pixel 6 pro now for this very reason. The one plus 7pro I had before this had terrible shutter lag. I used gcam and lag was gone. Google camera software for the win. This feature in Google's computational photography is not talked about enough.
Same here. I've had Pixels for a few years now. For each new Apple and Samsung flagship that comes out, I go to the store, take my current Pixel and the latest flagship in my hands, and shoot photos of moving people in the store, pressing the shutters at the same time. Pixel always wins, the photo is always captured faster and with less motion blur. It beats Samsung by a large margin, and Apple by a small margin.
@@aberreg I loved my pixel 6 pro camera, easily the best for kid photos, face unblur was the real deal. But it was buggy enough that I have transitioned to an iphone 13 for now. Looking forward to the pixel 7 line.
That RX100 hanging out in the background, heh. ;D This phone seems pretty cool. I'm glad some companies are at least trying to use larger sensors. Something like the RX100 VII is actually more practical because the 1" sensor is going to apply to the entire zoom range, but for standard one focal length use I could see something like this being appealing.
I don't think the RX100 series of cameras need to add programmatic background blur, but the artificial stuff will likely have more (along with the potential of bad subject isolation). If you mean like stacking frames for night photography, I'd have to see if it has anything like that. Bracketing is a pretty standard feature, but cameras don't often automatically merge frames. Also no idea if the RX100 have any type of auto HDR and adjustment based on human subjects. IMO, I'd rather have raw image files I can mess around with, but I'm into the hobby.
Great to see genuine photo sensor improvements in smartphones. That bokeh looks great. What's the crop factor for that sensor? A full frame (small format) mirrorless camera can make background almost disappear into a wash of colour at F1.2 55mm or F2 85m..
Not sure exactly about this Xiaomi but I can work out the crop factor on my S22 Ultra's main camera (which has a slightly smaller sensor than the Xiaomi 12S Ultra) from the shooting details saved along with a photo. It shows a focal length of 6.4mm at f/1.8 aperture. Knowing that the angle of view is equivalent to 24mm on a full frame camera (confirmed from Samsung's own specs where they say the main camera is 24mm equivalent) you just need to do 24 / 6.4 = crop factor of 3.75. That might be off very slightly due to difference in aspect ratio of the sensors (a full frame camera is typically 3:2 but I believe the S22 Ultra is 4:3 like a Micro Four Thirds camera. And if you choose to shoot in 16:9 on the phone that would cause a further difference relative to full frame). I can then work out exactly what the depth of field would be equivalent to full frame: 3.75 * f/1.8 = f/6.75. For a phone camera that is actually impressive but definitely far off the f/1.4 you can get full frame 24mm lenses in. Only the native focal length of the camera is recorded along with a photo on the S22 Ultra - so say I was using the main camera but chose to zoom in to 50mm, this is digital zooming/cropping by 2.1x so I would have to remember that a photo I've taken with this level of zoom would actually be equivalent to 2.1 * 6.75 = f/14.18 at 50mm on a full frame camera.
Don't just lump the US as international. Its available everywhere but the USA. Australians and New Zealand for example gets all the Xiaomi and Oppo phones.
@@KuroRyuu86 sorry if it sounded like that but I understand US is not just the entire international community. I’m just saying that I kinda dont want xiaomi to release in USA (which is part of the international community).
Glad to see the tech going forward! Real blur is for now still better than the “faked” blur. The question is, what if I don’t want a shallow depth of field ? We can’t change the aperture, so may be they should gave us the possibility of using a quick auto focus stacking, like with HDR but instead of taking multiple photos with different exposure, taking multiple photos with different focus points!
That much expose glass on the back would give me anxiety, way too much surface area for potential scratches and cracks and Xioami is notorious for never pushing updates to fix big issues
Impressive tech. I have the mi 11 ultra and thinking of getting this one as a upgrade but one thing that i will miss will be the second screen on the back. Was a cool gimmick to take selfies with the main camera and i think xiaomi was wrong not bringing it back for the 12, especially with this 1 inch camera. Would be so cool to take easy selfies with it.
Now to be honest those shots you showed are so incredibly dramatic and pleasing to the eye that is actually scary. It's obvious that a phone's pictures nowadays can't look that good all the time but man. This is the one time I feel like a collaboration between a legacy optics brand and a smartphone brand delivers and I'm so hyped for the future of smartphone photography!
okay taking those pictures of the plant on your roof with so much wind and getting these results (every single time) is so damn impressive, I don't think this phone's camera only beats Samsung if you know what I mean .
I've owned several xiaomis from mid range to a flagship and yeah, the bugs are pretty aggressive and noticeable and they kept reappearing. Unlike Samsungs and iPhone where they appeared once and next they're gone.
I hope this 1 inch sensor will become a standard feature in all high-end smartphones and then maybe Samsung or Apple or another company (Google) fixes the flaws you mentioned and perfect the color science and the camera software.
Imagine this sensor on a more powerful computational photography device. Probably should add variable aperture to better help that fringing problem. But that zoom quirk is gonna irk a lot of people especially someone who uses the zoom just as often as the ultrawide. I hope Xiaomi fixes that. Lastly, whether Xiaomi commits to updating this camera occasionally with future software is something of an uncertainty. Considering that software to better utilize the previous Mi 11 Ultra's sensor is still not there, I doubt Xiaomi would push any software for the Xiaomi 12S Ultra that would drastically improve the experience, let alone fix some bugs. I just hope they commit better this time.

I use a Mi 11 Ultra in the states and it has to be the best device I've ever used. The Chinese firmware has some quirks to get set up, so I wouldn't recommend it for beginners unless it was on the global rom. But that being said, the camera is outstanding, the haptics are the best I've ever used (better than my iphone 13 pro), and the battery has been great (thanks to updates). Couple that with fast charging and the rear second screen, it's just an awesome device. Highly recommended for any non-beginners who are bored of the usual suspects (Galaxy / Pixel / iphone).

Main lens is 23mm equivalent F1.9 8P aspheric lens. That makes it F5.2 full-frame equivalent. I'd rather have a 35mm equivalent for more shallow depth of field and better portrait potential (wide portraits), all personal preference I guess, plus 35mm might have made the lens protrude a bit more.
Exactly, if you're already going have that big-ass camera module, might as well go full ham and have the 35mm equivalent for more amazing photographs. The vast majority use a case on their phone anyways so I don't think that we're too worried about the thickness. Sometimes thickness is a good thing (ladies you know the procedures). I say bring on the thickness and let the hits keep coming.

Looks like it has been a trend for smartphone manufacturers to market a feature as "new" or "revolutionary" even though it was released years ago.
What about professional Mirrorless cameras?
Unlike OnePlus with their Hasselblad venture, Xiaomi, with Leica actually made something worthy of praise.
Leica on the Mi is still not a big deal. It's just another hassleblad like doing the minor things.
When digital age come this companies lost a lot of market today it's most important a complete digital workflow than a lens with a leaf shutter technology. A lot of companies switched to full frame cameras, more convenient, less expensive. I don't know how you can say Hasselblad with just 210 employees is a big fish against Nikon with 20 thousands. BTW Hasselblad was bought for DJI chinese company years ago.

Yeah, wondered the same thing. The lenses are an inch apart. The difference in framing can't be more than an inch, certainly not a whole plane vanishing with that offset.

I think so. Cuz the telephoto need EIS and EIS will slow down ur movement to keep stable

@@datdudeEX1992 I still have mine in a drawer but the battery died.
@8:12 look at Marques so buff so inspirational petting Dark Mode Mac 🤌🏼🐶
8:59 I think what happened here is the 'Stabilization Cropping'
When we zoomed in too much, the video shakiness increases exponentially.
That's EIS, and mostly the cropping is done on the corners of the Sensors , so not an issue with it
I thought that too but I think Marques might be right that it may be using the main sensor in the view finder as you shoot video.

@@davidjeong8624 you're right they just found this phone lying in a dumpster and started selling it
@@davidjeong8624 Yes, innovating
@@davidjeong8624 more than any other company I've seen in this industry
Most of the time they just copy apple and samsung lol this is the first time they are trying something new and again as shown in the video such camera will also be available on the next Samsung flagship. Only impressive thing abou Xiaomi is it's stuff is affordable.
you could say this looks 'leica' really good camera phone
My OCD is not a fan of the main camera not being the centered one!!
BUT with that being said, this is a phone without a doubt I would love to use, knowing how I like the mi11 Ultra as much as I do, I can image I will love this even more!
Highly recommended for any non-beginners who are bored of the usual suspects (Galaxy / Pixel / iphone).
i would pick up a future xiaomi ultra phone when i'm travelling to Asia again. buy it directly from there cheaper don't have to spend more than 1k which is awsome.
Xiaomi's Android is kind of buggy from time to time don't you think?
@@7tubebabe not really, i don't really face any bugs on my mi10t.
@@7tubebabe it definetly has less bugs than my Samsung had
@H thanks, you've been Mi fan i see.
I still think the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite has one of the best designs in any current smartphone. Slim, flat on the back and display, good looking camera position and really lightweight
@@bilawalsingh99 now I'm using the 5G version. For me is good enough. I like the screen, camera, battery and feel but keep in mind that is not a flagship
Thanks for showing some love to Xiaomi, Marques. Always nice to see less well-known brands getting covered on the channel.
First Listening that Xiaomi is a less Knowing brand it is literally Top 3 in the world
Less known in the west definitely lol
WOW 😲! This is what I'm talking about trading performance over aesthetic and in this case getting still image with moving objects. That feature is a must have technology for a camera on a phone. I'm flabbergasted over the impressive still photo that capture the moving plant. To be honest the camera on the surface of the phone is fairly shallow with a negligible pump.
11:55 the phone and the price are china exclusive and chinese brands usually charge at least 50% more internationally so it's more like a *1300-1400$* phone. It feels like chinese prices are subsidized by international sales 🙄
I actually do still like the curved edges! Am I alone with this opinion? I like the looks of the small side bezel and have no problems with accidental touch inputs. I prefer the round edges also because of how side gestures feel while swiping left or right over soft edges rather than over hard edges. I still have a OP 7T pro and I’m pretty happy with no notch, no punch hole and small rounded bezels…
The curved edges looks so fkin sexy and aesthetic
I've got an S21 Ultra amd I love the edges! The edge panel makes it so easy to switch between apps. And no accidental touches lol

it's amazing to watch such technology inside Xiaomi 12S Ultra. and it's way more amazing how you could find its main selling point's Bug even when it isn't officially coming to all market yet
Enjoy Watching this video on Mi 11 ultra at 4k and tweak motion & hdr. Can't wait to use this phone LOL.
Always love this channel since 7 years ago. ☕👍. Greetings from Indonesia 🇮🇩
I am impressed. Good job Xiaomi 👍
US customers are really missing out with great competitors like this. Was a Mi Fan from the Xiaomi 2S days, and I've got to say. I'm proud of what they've accomplished.
It's a shame definitely!
@@MaDFroG88 they'd better not cause its still buggy software after years...
@@DimaLegoFUN miui 13 is not buggy lol
@@sixunity1171 but this phhone has bugs.... lol
I think they do t want to wake any sleeping dogs. After you see what the US did with Huawei it might be in Xiaomi's best interest to beat the competition in other regions.
The most surprising part about the camera setup was the fact that the centre camera has the ultrawide lens whereas the main sensor was on the side.
The way you talk about things are just so refreshing. 😂 Always feels so good watching your videos.
excellent phone, thw only thing that xiaomi needs now is to improve their software
I say bring on the thickness and let the hits keep coming.
f stops stay the Same, doesnt matter what Sensorsize. What Changes is the dof, nothing Else.
It's really weird the main camera isn't front and center. Kinda frustrating to think about really
8:58 same happends with the LG Velvet, I was recording a beautiful classic sailing ship and kept it in frame. When I was back in my hotel and watched the video, I noticed the odd bug.

That's a crazy good phone for $900! Stinks that it isn't in the US though 🙁
I wish we're now in a stage where we have detachable lenses since we have a big sensor on smartphones. Multiples cameras problems is the quality differs on each cameras which is really annoying.
manufacturers didn't even bother make micro sd slot and 3,5mm jack anymore. interchangeable lens system is way harder than those 2
I have the same thing on my mind. Kind of what Moment is doing now. But would be great if it comes in one package from the smartphone company itself.
@@MaiElizabeth it will probably be sold separately. And i think these type of smartphones will have it's own segment since it will have one lens and sensor, fixed placement to accomodate the lenses into the future. Magnetic will probably be the solution for attaching the lenses as well.
That’s not really marketable for the companies, they prefer making smartphones every year with limited options
@@adammalik5397 underdisplay cameras and underdisplay fingerprint sensors are harder to implement than a micro sd and headphone jack
But aren't they putting them in smartphone
It's just a matter of convenience and cost cutting
Headphone jack and micro sd are more useful than fancy indisplay stuff
Get rid of it y'all
thank you for the detailed review, i am seriously considering buying this phone as i was confused earlier
A conversation a lot like this is happening in the Micro Four Thirds space. Compared to full frame cameras, MFT sensors have gotten VERY impressive, and have lots of super cool electronic features that are still making their way to the other sensor sizes. That being said, they have lately not been bringing many, if any at all, generational improvements. The Panasonic GH5-GH6 is a solid example. They're still getting better, but you can tell we're nearing the upper limits of what that sensor size is capable of. I feel the same way about smartphone cameras. These shots look good, OF COURSE. But vs the best Samsung and iPhone shots from the past few years? I'm just not impressed.
