I tested the consumption with a cheap USB tester. The Fire TV 4k consumed ~150mA while watching FHD TV, i never had any issues other than no HDMI ARC at startup (could also be the soundbar software).
This helped me soooo much!! Plugging the USB into a random charger block and just plugging into the outlet. Couldn't figure out why the TV kept restarting & every video I watched just said to unplug for 5 minutes & hold power button for 30 seconds which obviously didn't work. Thank you so much for this video
What I did was take a 10ft outdoor/indoor power brick stuck it to the back of my tv with double sided tape. Plugged that into the outlet then plugged everything needed into the power brick it works great and looks great.
Yep, I had the random rebooting until I broke down and ran a long USB cable thru my wall down to the powerstrip. I've thought about getting the power-assisted (battery) cord, but since it's working fine now I haven't bothered.
Great video, I’ve never heard of the issues of plugging into the tv instead of the wall. It doesn’t hurt that you’re handsome either. My firetv stick is always plugged into two usbs and I’ve had no issues. Lucky me 🤘
My TV has 2 500mha USB port and pluging in these will make de firestick reboot all the time. But there is one extra port that is "time machine ready" and has 1000mha prepared for a external hard drive. This one i can use and the stick works perfectly fine.
i got a LG TV from like year 2013 and my firestick works with the TV plug power great. I dont have any issues and sometimes a blackout happened like once every 2 hours once. The only main problem that I have is that I cannot update it because it says it doesnt have enough power, thats the reason why I searched this video up
I didn’t know until Friday that i accidentally had plugged my firestck into my USB port and i right away plugged into the HDMI port. Did i mess up my tv with this USB port?
Am I the only one who is missing that the USB in TV's is exactly and really the only purpose being installed it to power converter/any other device needing USB power? What is Earth shattering about this???
I connected a fire stick a purchase to a TV because I have subscribed to Gen2 streaming services but my tv won't show nothing about installing the Device, what can I do?? it's an 5 years old flat tv
My Amazon Fire stick is connected to my TVs USB 5V 1AMP(MAX) connection. Never had an issue. My old TVs are only 500 milliamps. So, it doesn't work well.
Ok , i tested with an usb tester . The Amazon fire stick 4 k never pass 300 Ma . So really need 1 A ...i don't think so. I don't have any problem connected on a 500 Ma port . If You have a Samsung tv , you have 1 A usb port ( HDD ) , mine is from 2013 so not so new . Good luck !
I have a Nintendo Switch with a spare USB port. It says the USB ports on the switch have a power output of 5V at 1.8. This exceeds the requirement for the Fire Stick 5V at 1. Will I run into other problems by providing more power?
In my tv there is 1 hdmi and another is hdmi earc ‘ I already used hdmi port for my mini pc now i have to install my fire stick in my tv’ now does it support to hdmi earc.. can i install my fire stick in hdmi earc

You're the man! It fixed it when I put the USB out of the TV and into an outlet

I have a mi stick connected to tv usb port at 5v 500ma. Yes, performance is slower compared to the usb adaptor but still the stick works.
Hey man, was thinking of getting one myself. I also have a 500ma port. Did you run into any issues?

fire TV 4k comes with hdmi extender. I can imagine this would further increase the power requirement too. Great vid, thanks
i don´t think this a relevante consuption

Am I the only one who is missing that the USB in TV's is exactly and really the only purpose being installed it to power converter/any other device needing USB power? What is Earth shattering about this???
not at all, they are for usb devices such as flash drives
I connected a fire stick a purchase to a TV because I have subscribed to Gen2 streaming services but my tv won't show nothing about installing the Device, what can I do?? it's an 5 years old flat tv
I guess USB 3.0 (the blue one) provides 1000mA whereas USB 2.0 (the black one) provides 500mA.. but not sure about this.. in my tv it's that way..
can’t see anything and you take forever to get to the point
I may have to buy a 10ft micro cable then

What if my TV doesn't have an hdmi port and only has usb port. So, will the hdmi to usb converter work?
no

Any idea on how to connect Roku (via HDMI) and External Hard Drive (via USB) to single HDMI cable into TV (TV only has HDMI port)?
to run hard drive you probably need a powered usb hub
Roku works perfectly with this.
Wish I read this comment before deciding on the first stick over the roku
Does it low the life of fire TV stick? Please tell..
Yes I do not recommend
Sound problem ,no sound
then where are you supposed to plug it into?
Use the adaptor which came with it 🤦🏻♂️
How do I do it- you need to show how not just talk
hi friend, thanks for you cool video, could you help us make a video about our new projector?Thank you very much!
over 5 minutes of NOTHING
00:30 First time viewer... Why don't you just add an outlet behind the TV? you could do it in an hour at a cost of under $20 at the Orange box store.
Can’t. Apartment complex won’t allow it for some reason. Otherwise I would’ve done that so quickly haha.
I don't have a 4k tv.what can I do??? And I won't bye a smart tv.they listen to everything you say.and probably watching you.
Get a grip.
Use powerbank
