You've done a great job summarizing what makes the R53 such a good driver's car! I had a 2004 Cooper S JCW. The smiles per dollar of that car could not be beat. I've since moved on the noticeably less fun but slightly larger and more practical Honda Fit.
Thank you! Smiles per dollar is a great way to put it. They got a lot of things right with these. Thankfully your Honda Fit does have some pep and fun to it!
Dude the Mini website back in the early 2000s was the coolest website i'd ever been to. The mini flash game where you run and jump into a convertible lives in my head rent free.
Haha. That sounds amazing. I never knew that. I’m not surprised though, their marketing and branding with these MINIs was the best. Even the little booklets and material that came with the cars were so clever.
Nice! Thanks man. One thing I’ve noticed is that these seem to be in great condition ($6,000+) or really beat to death (less than $3,500). There doesn’t seem to be an in between. Good luck with the search!
I had a 2003 R53. now I have a 2008 R53 JCW. quick little car and fun to drive even when driving slow. its an inexpensive car that gives you 30 to 40k dollar driving reward. I don't find mine to rattle. only when its cold and not much. now pot holes no matter how small feels like a big bump!!!! my car has 108k at the moment. its a toy for me. I bought it for 6k with 97k miles
I just got a R55 Clubman .. and I love this thing! These cars are truly special.
Indeed! Clubmans are cool. Enjoy!

Someone said the same thing on one of my 4Runner videos 😂
Do a review on the F56 2014-2018.
Cool video, looking to buy one as well. Hopefully is in good condition 🙏

I got a 2006 with 86k last summer. Absolutely love the car! What suspension does the car have installed? And what wheel specs is that?
Nice! Low miles and a good year. It’s on BC Racing coilovers with Enkei RPF-1 15x8-28 with Falken 225-45-15.

That’s a good deal. Pot holes are BRUTAL though. Lol. You’re right about that 30k-40k driving reward. That’s how it feels.
Steering feel is good ? Thanks !
Steering seems heavy for the car, but it’s tight and responsive.
