  • We have a special one this week as we welcome in Milwaukee Bucks forward, Bobby Portis. His NBA journey is really incredible and we're excited to share it. Topics include: growing up in Arkansas and attending The University of Arkansas, how The Milwaukee Bucks pulled together their recent impressive win-streak, why having a star like Giannis Antetokounmpo can lead to no-drama environment, why the media overlooks The Bucks sometimes, what he's learned from Giannis, how The Bucks love to play "random basketball," what makes Jrue Holiday such a generational defensive player, debating which block was better - Giannis' block or LeBron's block, his favorite Brook Lopez story, Bobby's very unique story of how he wound up on The Bucks, how Bobby had to overcome his image that developed in Chicago after his "fight" with Nikola Mirotic in practice, JJ shares a story about getting into it with Hedo Türkoğlu in Orlando, why coach Bud loves Bobby so much, why Bobby should be in the conversation for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award, what he learned from last year's series against The Boston Celtics

It's just crazy because I was born and still live in Wisconsin and even though I have been a NBA/Bucks fan and it's just nice to see the state as a whole support this Bucks era team like they are and I love Bobby even more knowing how he got here. I have for awhile wondered why it feels like it's harder then it should be to find hungry talent like him to maybe not take top dollar but see the upside of playing for a team that is playing for rings with a great core of players one and off the court.

He deserves to be 6th man of the year for both his ability to score, but more importantly the hustle and energy he brings off the bench. The problem is that the award changed along with the league becoming more offensive oriented. I remember growing up watching guys like Tony Kukoc, Darrell Armstrong, Anthony Mason, Corliss Williamson and Antawn Jamison win the award cause they brought so many things to the game other than just scoring once they got on the court.
