Correction: 15:56 Instead of a transmission, the 2.0-liter engine powers a generator that runs the propulsion motor in normal driving. At higher speeds, the engine drives the front wheels by means of a lockup clutch. Linear Shift Control is designed to mimic a conventional drivetrain’s gear shifts under acceleration. The 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid does not feature a gearbox. Shoutout to @Gary Hawkins !
Had a ‘20 Accord Touring 2.0T and was planning to upgrade to a ‘23 Accord Touring 2.0T only to be extremely disappointed to learn that the 2.0T had been nixed. Found a Certified Pre-Owned ‘21 Accord Touring 2.0T that only had 4k miles on it. Sold my ‘20 and bought the ‘21. I will keep this car for a while and enjoy every minute of it. Mine is Sonic Gray Pearl. Unless Honda comes back to their senses and offers a higher performing Accord, my 38 year run with the brand will likely end. I still can’t believe how they dumbed down the new generation. Such wasted potential. I love the 10th generation of the Accord. It’s almost perfect.
I hear ya man. That’s great you were able to find a lower mileage 10th Gen. The Sonic Gray is an awesome color. Every time I see an 11th Gen on the road, it just baffles me Honda would screw up a formula for success. Let’s hope they get the message and come up with something better for the mid cycle refresh or 12th Gen.
I have Honda too...I liked watching your videos...your way of detailing is good...in this video I liked your informative part and also your funny talks too...keep up the hardwork..😊🤭
Hello , I have a 21 Touring and actually love it but around Dallas Texas where potholes and uneven pavement bumps are everywhere and the 19 rims do take a beating (with a slight bend in one rim) also the trans can be jerky but you just have to learn how to finesse the gas pedal. I love my Ivory colored interior and think the contrast makes it look very classy.
Hey, that’s great to hear about your 21 Touring. In regards to the tires, yes our rims can take a beating. It’s because the tires that come stock are very thin with not much tread wall. If you increase the tire size to 245/45 or higher, it should cushion those bumps a lot better 👍🏼 it’ll also fill in the wheel well gap better as well.
@ericahunt5770 Hi Erica. Honda dealers and most car dealerships will typically call owners to give incentives to trade in their cars for a new model. It’s because car dealers make more money on used cars than on new cars. So if they can get you to trade in your 2018 LX (which they will most likely give you a low ball offer), then they can turn around and sell that 2018 LX for much more. In regards to the 2023, I would say check it out…take it for a test drive and see if you like it 👍🏼
I traded my 18 lx with 116k two weeks ago for a 23 sport-l and got a solid trade value for it even with body damage. I don't get all the hate. It's so much more than the 10th gen. It has plenty of power with the hybrid.
With nearly all car makers abandoning performance in favor of doggy hybrids, I'll be keeping my 2018 2.0t Touring for a very long time. Looks great, very comfortable, every safety and convenience feature you could want and amazing performance and handling in sport mode. A blast to drive on windy mountain roads. I too am not a fan of the noisy 19 inch wheels, never mind the worst turning radius of any car I have ever driven. But beyond that, it is pretty great. What Honda has done to the new Accord is criminal. It is the ugliest thing I have ever seen and I have no use for hybrids with their mushy performance and handling and high insurance costs.
All true 👍🏼 every time I see the new Accord I just shake my head. I made this video over a year ago and had the idea of trading this car in for a M340i…never did it. Our 10th gen Accord has more space, comfort, and value than the M340i. I might just keep this for the long run. Glad to see you’re enjoying the 10th gen as well. What color is your car? Have you done any upgrades to it?
@@adventuresandstuff Champagne. Ivory interior. A pretty rare color. I think they may have only offered it the first year. But I really like it. And cooler than darker colors in the hot Florida summers. No upgrades. Not a gearhead. Just a driver.
Great review very thorough EXCEPT; the 2023 car does NOT have a CVT transmission. In fact it does not have any transmission in the normal sense of that description. The ICE engine powers the electric dynamo that send electricity to the two drive motors, sort like a diesel locomotive. For that reason, it does sound and feel like a CVT. I do agree that the changed emphasis from performance to fuel economy has turned me away from Honda as well.
I owned a 2018 Accord Sport 2.0T. Good car until a drunk T-boned me. Replaced with a 2019 VW Jetta GLI with the dual clutch transmission. Added an APR tune and better wheels/tires. Very fast and handles terrific for a rather ordinary looking sedan. Gas mileage is better than the Accord as well. Smaller of course, but back seat is still OK. Never use it anyway. The Arteon would satisfy that requirement.
@@adventuresandstuff APR says 320?? It’s been my style to upgrade tires and wheels on everything. Needed here to improve traction. Did the same with my Accord as well.
@@garyhawkins1941 did you have a tune on your Accord? Debating whether to get just the ktuner stage 2 or get the stage 2 with the phareable stage 3. Have seen mixed reviews on both.
@@adventuresandstuff I think the bean counters were in control. Cut costs every way possible. Among the thrings removed besides the amazing power train: adaptive suspension. built in navigation, the cool color-changing climate control knobs. Hell, even the spare tire. The dull overall body styling also was probably much cheaper to make than the old model.

After owning the car any problems electrical wise or engine anything? Planning on buying one
@arle3603 hey 👋🏼 no electrical problems. Car is running like a champ. Hope you find one! They’re getting harder to find nowadays.

great analysis, and considering the aftermarket parts on the accord are in abundance it would be awesome to see you modify your current accord!!
Thanks Ron! I’m leaning more towards modifying my current accord 🤩 will be making videos of the entire process, so check back 👍🏼
Good review! I own a 2013 civic. Considering buying the 2023 accord hybrid 😁
Thanks! Let me know if you end up getting the 2023 Accord 😎
@@adventuresandstuff Sure. That may happen in the middle of this year.
Awesome! Would really like to hear how you like it when you do get it 👍🏼

@daytonarama exactly 👆🏽 what the heck was Honda thinking. Thanks again for your comments.
the 2023 is as Tesla as Honda wants to be.
CVT
small hybrid engine
boring looking
That’s a good way to put it 👆🏽😅 hoping Honda smartens up (unlikely).
