    I'm a life-long (25 years) mixed-martial artist (Kyokushin, Grappling/Wrestling, and Judo), I agree with him 100%. Even though I can fight with an elite striker, once I get a single/double leg takedown, he is mine to finish. Most strikers don't know how to defend or evade once they are tackled/grabbed.

    I find boxers abit delusional. They seem to think because they can box they can win any fight. I've proven time and time again that a wrestler with submission experience will totally dominate and submit a boxer within 30 seconds. Also a full suplex onto a concrete floor would be a life changing experience for a boxer.

    • @aswanideva-nk4ht

      Yeah just like wrestlers have never tasted how a punch, elbow or knee feels on the face. A higher level boxer will beat a low level wrestler and a high level wrestler will beat a boxer. It will be close when both are elite. + The wrestler can only wrestle if he is to even catch a boxer who train for distance management and range control. It would be huge advantage for the wrestler if the fight occurs in a congested setting with not much room to move around. It would rather be better to have the technique to land ko shots rather than wrestle on the streets as street fights are never going to be one on one. (And yes the ability to run away too be beneficial)

    I had 1 world champion and one british and commonwealth champion at the gym i trained at when i was younger. I have been in sparring with both and i can categorically say that an untrained boxer will not lay a hand on them, never mind grab them two handed around the waist. They were like whackamole. They would have hit you 3 times and left their position before you had even thought about lunging for their legs.

  • @nmr20067
    @nmr20067 8 месяцев назад +2

    True. But I will add this is only if they know each other and what the other is capable of. If the wrestler does not know the guy is a boxer, he could be in trouble. And a lot of boxers don’t look physically opposing… Case in point: Andre Ward…. Tyrone Woodley could dump Ward on his head. But what if Woodley did know Ward and that he was world champ and gold medalist in the Olympics for boxing?? He would come forward and swing on him… Woodley said years ago he wanted box Ward. Long before the Paul fight.. lol

      This all depends on the scenario. Is the wrestler aware of being step to? Is it in a bar? Nightclub etc…what shoes? What is the flooring like…if they both step to each other posing a boxer can tee off. If the boxer has guard up the wrestler and can drop and shoot then pancake the boxer.
