HOLDEN VR STATESMAN 304ci 5.0 V8 -ENGINE BUILD/UPGRADES-

  • Complete Iron Lion VR holden 5.0 V8 /Auto build
    -Full engine block, crank and heads acid washed and machining and balancing done.
    -30 thou over rebore, 30 thou JCP flat top pistons and rings.
    -Full crow cam kit which includes CROW 4890 tough idle camshaft, lifters, valve springs, retainers, locks, stem seals, timing chain set, pushrods, larger valves, and high flow oil pump.
    -The oil journals were also cleaned up for better flow.
    -The factory heads were decked, port and polished and CCed for maximum flow and efficacy.
    -All new bearings, welsh plugs, full gasket kit and sump also installed.
    -The banana manifold was HPC coated, and had new gaskets and ARP bolts installed.
    -New Turbo 400 auto stage 2 box built, with 2200 RPM stally to match the new tough idle camshaft.
    -New tough dog engine mounts and pacemaker extractors fitted to my already built full custom twin 2.5" exhaust, with x2 center high flow straight through sports mufflers, running into twin 3" dumps out the rear.
    -MACE air cleaner box up front with a K&N pod filter which makes a big difference over stock.
    -Engine fully painted with Gloss black heat proof paint, Rocker covers powder coated, engine cover Hydro dipped.

    This is an absolute beast. I love the vr vs Stato shape. It's the best looking stato when done right and also a iron Lion 5L
    I wish holden did these in a Wagon. Well done sir I hope she does you well and keeps ya smiling. 😎🍻

    I hope the missing camshaft welsh plug at 7:43 went in before the flex plate went on.

    My vq statesman runs ok it will need a rebuild one day engoyed the video

      HaHa CHEERS MATE! Yeah she came up mint af and im stoked AF! Ill get the dyno in the new year at some point when i get the KMS up. And yeah the sump makes it aye LOL

    Ive got a vn series 2 , 5lt manual . Had it for 29 years . Your motor sounds better . Can you tell me what you did to it . I might have to freshen mine up .

I also have the MACE air cleaner box up front with a K&N pod filter which makes a big difference over stock. Shes currently on a soft tune for the next 1500kms, before i drop the oil and then send it on the DYNO. Shes like a completely different ride now even on the soft tune, she sounds tough as and the whole car shakes at idle.

    Is it the end build or have you more in mind. Bigger injectors, up graded computer system.....
    Looks as f..k all the same though mate

      HaHa thanks for ya positive thoughts mate And YES, this is the build that i wanted mate, I was after a tough sounding reliable family sunday cruiser mate and i got exactly that. I wasn't interested in throwing 25k plus into a 10K car LOL, Shes now got a BIG Crow cam, all new stronger top end, Fully new built tough box and stally, worked heads, bigger valves, 30 tho over flat top pistons, all machined and balanced, New extractors and goes like fuck now even on her soft tune for run in. So yeah, shes not stock like i had mate :) DYNO in the new year then i'll send it
