I wait for a bit until potting because I don't mind how they look in water. Yes about an inch or so. I do water right away after potting and then don't water again until the soil is dry
Maybe harden it off for 1-3 days first before putting them in water. That just means to leave it out on your counter or something so the end dries and it can't absorb a lot of water too fast
I haven't tried growing it permanently and have always transferred them in soil. I've seen some videos of people growing succulents in water but not this particular plant so I'm not sure...
I love all the string of things❤️ They're so cute and elegant. Propagating is a lot of fun.. Have a wonderful day!
I've been using a pringles container to scoop my soil too! 😂
😂 you caught me!
How often do you replace the water?
What does anybody do if stems don't want to root, just wait ?
Did you change the water or just keep adding? Thanks
I'm trying to do exactly the same thing. When do you pot them? When the roots have grown to at least an inch or so? And water right after potting?

Can we propogate string of pearl from it's pearl???
I personally have not been able to propagate from a single pearl but probably not impossible.
mine took about 3 weeks to root an inch
That sounds about right!
String of pearls are winter growers. Probly better luck then👍🏽
Do we need to change the water per day
No you don't have to. I just refill it as needed.
Can it grow in water permanently like ivy/pothos????

Do your stems touch the water?
I've kind of been doing both. Some stems touch the water and some are just above and they both seem to work.
Have you ever water propagate string of turtle?
No, I don't have a string of turtle plant. But water propagation works well for String of pearls and string of bananas from my experience.
Takes over three months to root,
Did not see what purpose the bird cage had but thanks for the video
If you clip right below an aerial root these will root in a few days in the water.
how do you know if it is an aerial root? the roots above the soil?
@@emilylewis8290 yes.
They take months to grow roots,or even longer.
