  • In this video I will be demonstrating how to make a classic habichuelas guisadas. This can be eaten by itself, with white rice and tostones to make a few. I actually made this as a side for my Pinchos de Pollo which is an Puerto Rican style chicken Kabob. If you’re here from my video on how to make Pinchos then this will show you how to make the the sides to my Pinchos.
    Ingredients:
    . 1 can Habichuelas
    . 11/2 Tbsp olive oil
    . 1/2 cup Tomato sauce
    . 2 Tbsp Sofrito
    . 1 Tsp oregano
    . 2 Tbsp diced Cilantro
. 1 Packet of Sazon con Achieote
    . 1 Tsp Cumin
    . 1 Potato
. 1 Garlic Clove crushes (optional)
. Cooked Ham or Goya ham packet
    . 1 cup water
    Link for sofrito:

I go to the butcher ask for a small handful of pork or a pork chop.. I cut that up .. no packed pork for me. I sear it first to get the sautéed outside- I then take it out and do the whole thing/ pork goes back in last … period !!!!! Also add a bay leaf ❤ similar taste to oregano but makes it go crazy ❤ also if you read Goya it’s just cumin garlic achiote and msg .. make your own!!

Thank you for the recipe! Made these twice and it came out great both times :). I've been wanting to add pumpkin to mine as well. Do you do have advice for this? Is it best to add it at the same time as the potatoes? Does the type of pumpkin matter?

I guess it doesn't really matter since you got KK followers.,...
But I really hope people see this to see how much if you really actually care about your followers.
    Whatever ...
It would be nice if you actually said how much amount of oil you put in the pot for people we at the beginning before you talked and talked and talked and talked about all the ingredients because people watching these shows already know exactly what might go into a Puerto Rican bean recipe or rice recipe just get to the point sometimes you know what I mean.
Anyway like I said it would have been nice to see and show us how much oil and measurements or something close to it before you added your Sazon packet.
And someone but hey I guess you got it made.
If you care about some people that actually want to read up and learn something out of your little videos and at least be precise sometimes it wouldn't f****** hurt to help
