Bacalaitos || Puerto Rican Cod Fish Fritters
๐๐๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ญ๐จ๐ฌ (Puerto Rican Salted Cod Fish Fritters)
These bacalaitos are a classic Puerto Rican street food found at many kiosks that surround the islandโs beachsides. Typically they are made much bigger on the island and are seen hanging on pins over the deep fryer of whichever random food truck you decide to stop at. I often wait for The Puerto Rican Day Parades to indulge in these type of frituras but sometimes you just have to settle your craving.
So what exactly are Bacalaitos for those who are unfamiliar? Bacalaitos are deep-fried codfish fritters made from a flour-based batter flavored with aromatic Puerto Rican herbs and spices. You can use fresh cod but I rather use the packaged hea...

I got 2 things to say 1 is you used 1/2 cup of tomato sauce looks a bit watery and the second thing couldnโt hear what you were saying towards the end of the video because of the music . Please ! When u make videos donโt play music on the background if your speaking . I gave you a like over all

Thank you cause now I donโt live with my mom so now I have to learn lol
Pickadeyo
You talk too much, and you should always have the flour measure out and ready ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ
That looks delicious! Iโll be trying this tonight!
Thank you. God bless you
Yum I love beans Nice ๐๐๐๐ฆ
My brother I love to see make your version of mofongo on your next video Puerto Rican style.
Thanks. Differently giving it a try
Ahora por ser negrito usan la bandera negra! Me ofendes!
thanks for posting that
Also a few ice cubes is what we use to make the mangu softer it shouldn't be hard
its best to start mashing them when they are right out of the boiling water
Yes, or they get hard
Hello, I will like to do that could I have the name of the ham and the cheese. Thank you
Yummy!!! Why you added cornstarch?
Do you rinse the beans or no?
Scraping that pan with the metal spoon sent chills up my spine ๐ฌ sc
What kind of cheese is that is it like queso fresco?
I really like your recipes and techniques but you need a better camera person
What about instead of ChefFnTito, you change it to simply CheFnTito. Hmm hmm not bad. Speeds it up, makes it more snappy and it's still pretty Fn cool๐
I also add 1 yellow plantain for sweetness. The plantains are just roughage. It's what you put in after that makes this dish. The salt, pepper, garlic granules, sweet paprika, all purpose seasoning, maybe a dash of soy sauce and olive oil.
This turned out really good. Thank you!
Plssss, I need to know what kind of cheese ๐ง ????
Nothing better than Puerto Rican food๐คค
Bin the music
came here cus I knew I was missing a step! forgot to boil! man!
Man!
I guess it doesn't really matter since you got KK followers.,... But I really hope people see this to see how much if you really actually care about your followers. Whatever ... It would be nice if you actually said how much amount of oil you put in the pot for people we at the beginning before you talked and talked and talked and talked about all the ingredients because people watching these shows already know exactly what might go into a Puerto Rican bean recipe or rice recipe just get to the point sometimes you know what I mean. Anyway like I said it would have been nice to see and show us how much oil and measurements or something close to it before you added your Sazon packet. And someone but hey I guess you got it made. If you care about some people that actually want to read up and learn something out of your little videos and at least be precise sometimes it wouldn't f****** hurt to help
good video. very easy to follow

Pastales would be a good video !
Looks fire! Great job!!!
Thanks for the recipe. Can I use red wine vinegar instead?
I'm definitely going to give this a try in the airfryer and Instantpot. You can actually brush the cheese with avocado oi,l and put it in the airfryer to cut back on grease
I also add 1 yellow plantain for sweetness. The plantains are just roughage. It's what you put in after that makes this dish. The salt, pepper, garlic granules, sweet paprika, all purpose seasoning, maybe a dash of soy sauce and olive oil.
#1 handsome, #2 subscribed, #3 love it! ๐-Chad
Why the spoon ๐
Will this recipe ty!!! Music drowns out your voice, just a heads up
Im glad you added the Avocado, cuz as I was watching, I kept saying ... you gotta add some aquacate at the end. And you didโค. Being that I can't mash any type of platanos due to bad arthritis in my hands, I put them in my food processor & they come out awesomely smooth. I enjoy ur vedios๐ต๐ท
Yum yum thanks.
Gonna try this ๐๐๐๐
25-30 minutes on the highest flame?
Comes out perfect every time
Can you use an air fryer for all this I wonder?

I make this all the time. So so good. I'm probably gonna make it this weekend lol. My mother is Jamaican and I was born in America but I love food from EVERY culture. And this one I tried and had to learn how to make. I made baccalitos for dinner and it came out so good. Can't wait to make even more things. God bless guys sending love from my Jamaican flavored breadfruit roasting roots ๐ฏ๐ฒโค๏ธ๐ฏ๐ฒโค๏ธ
Thatโs why I joined the Navy! I love food from everywhere. I loved being stationed in Cuba where Jamaicans (men) worked on base and cooked lots of great food: curried goat, smothered oxtails with rice and peas ( my favorites). Also boiled plantains. Must try them mashed! Tun cornmeal is good but not for my diabetes!๐ . Everyone, please continue to post your native dishes! I love watching the preparation! One love to all everywhere!๐ฅฐโฅ๏ธ๐ฅฐ
