Thanks to you guys, I got back into the hobby after being out of it for years, and it has brought allot of joy back into my life. I used to love 4th ed. warhammers as a child. But I stopped due to the elitist gatekeeping that plagued the hobby at the time, as well as just my family thinking my hobby was stupid and being very antagonistic towards it. Fast forward many years and by chance I was randomly recommended one of your videos, watched it, and it unlocked so many fond memories enjoying the game with my friends in the past. It was like I was a sleeper agent being activated. I immediately went out bought a few models, called up some old friends, and we got to building and painting our new armies, and fumbling around trying to figure out the 9th ed rules. We can so easily get caught up and lost in our responsibilities, obligations, struggles in life. Sometimes it can really get you down. Getting back into the hobby brought a new spark into my life. I feel deeply satisfied every time I finish painting a model, My friends and I have found a new way to get together and enjoy each others company. It's been great. As dumb as it might sound, its amazing how much fun a few grown ass men can have playing "Admiral/General" with a bunch of toy soldiers. Thank you DiceCheck Team

I've been "40K curious" for a few years, but watching you guys get into 40K has gotten me to buying and painting the models and joining the hobby. I am now building both Ultramarines and Necrons armies because I have no chill lol. Much love from Korea!
Just an idea guys, have you ever tried using GW contrast paints through an airbrush? That stuff actually works pretty well and provides a surprising amount of coverage
My Local Warhammer Store is Closed on Monday and Tuesday because the One Guy Working There Cant Manage staying Open the Whole Week. I asked the guy about a job and he told me about the required amount of sales thing. I thought it would be cool to get a job there but I cant single handedly reach that checkpoint so I can try and get a job there.
Recently had our first warhammer store experience in the Pittsburgh area and its the same issues. One employee, randomly closes/opens, small place, and its very intense in there.
Army Painter is the last company to trust when it comes to paint consistency. Vallejo has very good airbrush specific paints. Citadel even has airbrush paints (I haven't tried these, or heard anything about them)
I would love a narrative campaign from you guys. Just the sheer ridiculousness and debauchery would be GOLDEN. You guys already have the best battle reports

Seeing Bricky's 40k lore videos, then seeing all you guys get so deep into the hobby really helped me get started on my own journey. Unfortunately it's been over a year and I still have yet to play a single game of 40k, but seeing all your battle reports has been a good proxy 😁
I've been into this since before all of you even had channels, and getting to follow you guys from your league stuff all the way to now has been awesome to watch. That said, never change lol. Bein the black sheep swearin your asses off keeps it fresh and as someone who does the same with my friends, it definitely keeps it on level (imo).
Same, there are so many clean channels to choose from. I just like shooting shit after a tough day at work and the Dice Check dudes are the same, it's nice to wind down with.
Your friendship is so wholesome. The best part is all the gigling at the lame jokes. So-so jokes become hilarious with all of the gigling and everyone adding to the joke.
My local Warhammer store is like you are talking about as well. Great store, single employee is the nicest and most helpful person ever, but hours are very limited and it’s often closed randomly or open at even more limited times due to the whole one worker thing. I wish GW understood they are losing sales in the store due to a policy that is based on that store’s sales. They’ve lost about 50% of my purchases in that store to Amazon due to the single employee hours issue.
Depending on where you live Amazon is one of the worst places to buy Warhammer. It's super expensive compared to other websites that sell stuff 15-20% below retail.
Given that I'm more into the painting sculping of it all, including 3D printing, I want to get into conversions pretty early in. Any good youtubers to watch or follow?
I'm just blown away you guys have a gw store with only 1 employee, granted we only have 1 store in iceland that sells gw, tabletop and that kinda stuff and I started like 15 years ago and, this store has moved to bigger and bigger house(s) like 2-3 times
Have you guys at DiceCheck ever considered doing a “30 vs 300” Game? With current imperial guard rules, it is possible to have 6 units of 30 conscripts, 12 units of 10-man infantry squads, and 6 HQs 3 Company commanders, 2 Lord Commissars, and 1 Primaris Psyker), in 3 Battalions, all for less than 2,000 Points. Put the up against a Custodes list of 30 guys, and see who comes out on Top.~

I get the 'Chaplain on bike' thing... I bought the Space Marines & Necrons 9th edition huge pack thingy, AND Trazyn the infinite... I WAITED A MONTH AND A HALF.
I remember like my first hobby purchase ever I ordered off gw's site with a friend, but it took ages. I eventually called support as covid protocol said to wait a few weeks, and it turned out the entire order was delayed because they were missing one or two pots of paint.

Yeah. I pretty much stopped shooting anything other than .22s. Ammo prices are too damn high. At least I got to build 1 AR before the massive shortage/price hike. At least my son and I have a new hobby.
@@ernstbergerbrent I'm down to .17 hmr, .45, 12g, and .308. Reloading stations are cheap and mine keeps me in ammo, except .17. I use Hornady polymer tips for that, yote hunting.
I'd REALLY like to see these guys get into Infinity by Corvus Belli. I think they'd have a blast and enjoy the miniature hobby more. Hell, I'd even send them a 2 player set to start off with.

I think the game of 40K is as complex as you want to make it. I’m used to complex war games look up Avalon Hill “Squad Leader” talk about complex, probably same or higher, but it could be very plain if you only played with basic rules. Still like building and painting, looking forward to painting Bal’ar Kor, and Mortarian.
GW should really take some notes from Bandai and make it so their models just snap together. Most of us don't buy the models to painstakingly glue small parts together, but to have a finished model that we can paint and create our own army with.
in australia my local GW stores been closed 3 months (not all their fault but still a hot minute) and to get the new "free" sgt model i have to spend 420 AU, their systems in australia are down right wrong, and then penalise customers for printing, buying from cheaper places etc, realised fast i love 40k the game, world and people who create them not GW

I live in England, so I was actually oblivious to the "Can you not swear so much?" side of the hobby in the US. We love swearing here! My son is two, and my sister isn't allowed to babysit without my parents there or else she'll teach him out to say "Cunt". xD

AoS is a very different game with very different rules. I play both, but 40k is definitely the best of them (outside of Warhammer Fantasy Battle, which is the best mini game ever made.

Guy is really nice though it's not on him it's the model like you were saying.

But I heard their new Speed Paint was good and half the price of GW.

I've been buying used pre built models on eBay to save myself the building time. Such a time saver and way less frustrating.
I actually love building but getting like 40% discounts built units is so good. eBay is awesome to save money and time
What do you use to strip?
I use Simple green but there are plenty of models that are only primed or have already been stripped
@adjuni I've never had to strip anything. So many models are just built or primed on ebay that it's not an issue.

Building is the worst until you're doing a crazy conversion, then it becomes the best.

GW did make a "air brush" which looked like a hand flamers, it was handy for base coating

I started just clipping two-handed swords and using Interceptor packs to clip to make handles for Nemesis Force Swords.
