Being Hawaiian from Hawai’i, I was so stoked for this game. It brought me back into the Pokémon games and it featured a lot of my homes culture. The music and everything was just amazing! I don’t care what negative things people had to say about this game, it’s my favorite.
Ah Kukui you are best professor. He introduced you to the region, followed you on your travels, and worked for the better good of Alola by striving for that Pokemon league and bringing around champions. Plus that cool demeanor with encouragement. Maybe all those other guys can sit high in their multi story tech laboratories, but for some reason I still feel like they ain't got shit on his homely shack...
"Multi story tech laboratories?" Who does that apply to? The only ones I know this doesn't apply to is Oak, who has a ranch in Kanto, and Birch, who is more a field study scientist...
This game was my introduction to the Pokemon series, and all because a good friend of mine recommended I play it. That was 3 years ago, time goes by so quickly... I do hope someday this game will be remembered in a positive light, as a departure from Pokemon tradition. Could be nostalgia speaking, but this entire region was really charming. Great visuals, excellent story, memorable soundtrack, and an equal parts exciting and relaxing atmosphere. I am eternally grateful to my friend who introduced me to the Pokemon series, and I'm glad this game was my first.
Been playing since gen 3. This is probably the best region aside from Unova. I love Hoenn but this experience was much better. The only problem is how much hand holding there is in the first island

Hopefully in generation 9 they'll add a "skip tutorial" option that skips the introduction of recurring mechanics we already know about. That way, the tutorial is shortened to only new mechanics specific to that generation. Dunno how they'd do it, but it would be a very nice quality of life change. New and returning players alike would be catered to.
This happened to me too! Moon was my first Pokémon game, and i'm so happy i traveled around Alola with all my pokémon as well! I hope everyone will remember those games as some of the best ones, it'd make me so happy to see that! But anyway, it's not like it's important what people can say about them. For me they will always be the best

Man I really wanna go back to this place. Until SV, this was the only region to rival the 2D games imo. It just felt so full despite being the technical smallest region, and the characters were amazing with an actually good twist villain. This was also the height of competitive to me with megas AND z-moves, there was nothing like it with the bountiful strategies. And I cannot leave out the exceptional lineup of Pokémon. So many fantastic mons that are so lovable.
This was my first pokemon game (I love it despite all the criticism), and I think it’s interesting how alola is technically the biggest region (although with the dlcs it’s probably galar) due to having five separate maps)
And it was the last Generation where you can get all of the Starters from all the Previous Generations up to that point as well as all of the Pokemon too.

This was actually my first Pokemon game. I had a DS when I was little, but I never got into Pokemon and at some point it broke. I remember really getting into Pokemon a few years ago and begging my parents to let me buy a 3ds. I remember being so hyped when I first put the game cartridge for Moon in my 3ds and hearing this track. Good times.
This is exactly my situation. I uses to play casually the ds games but i never got into them. When in 2016 this was announced i kept following the trailers and new info and i convinced my parents to give me a 3DS and Pokémon Moon for christmas :)

To me Sun & Moon are up there with Emerald, Platinum and OR/AS as some of the best pokemon games in the series. The Pokemon, The Trials, The Region, The Music, The Characters, The Story, i'm impressed Gamefreak keep it going guys :).

I can't believe this game is already 4+ years old, it's kinda making me nostalgic. It received a lot of hate back then, but I always thought Gen 7 is up there with Gen 4 and 5 as some of the best Pokemon games ever. I really appreciate GameFreak for putting a lot of effort in these games, and trying to make it unique from every other Pokemon game, which is remarkable.

Alola was 7 years ago... I still remember theorizing about what the starter evolutions would be. I still remember getting hyped because Red would be in the game. I still remember not believing that Ash-Greninja was in the demo. I was 9 when this game launched.
Pokémon Ultra Moon was my first Pokémon game, I got it for Christmas in 2018, I still really love the Alola games. I remember having a conversation with a classmate recently who asked me about my favourite region, saying he'd be 'disappointed' if I said Alola, (my favourites are probably Unova and Alola) like so sorry for liking a region/game?? I mean there is also a nostalgia factor, this soundtrack specifically is just so nice to listen to😭😭
I have such a soft spot for this game since it was my introduction into the Pokemon series. I never really understood all the fuss over a bunch of weird looking animals but after hearing the endearing music and exploring the colorful town, meeting characters and grinding for hours trying to grow my team of adorable battle beasts, I totally understand it now.
Goddamn.. brings back so many memories, technically this is my 2nd ever pokemon game I’ve played because when I was little I played my uncles Pokémon X/Y game, but gen 7 is the first pokemon game I’ve ever owned and finished by myself. And UGHHH I LOVE IT SO MUCH.. the ost is probably my favorite out of any Pokémon game. Down to the gameplay and even the villains. I truly wish I could forget this game just so I can replay it for the first time again.. I have so many feelings for this game and it was the last good gen tbh. Especially with the online plaza system, sucks they got rid of it in the newer games, cuz after I finished both pokemon moon and ultra moon all I did was online battles and I remember collecting a bunch of low level pokemon abd just random trading them and just got insanely overpowered Pokémon (which were probably hacked). A few months back I revisited the game to go on the online plaza and there were still a decent amount of ppl doing online trades and I got a few online battles, definitely not as popular as it once was obviously but revisiting it rly made me smile. *Also I used to have a crush on prof kukui and gladion LOL*

5 years ago.... damn. Not gonna lie, I didn't like the game much at first because I felt it was too kiddish. But I look back on it now and I actually really appreciate this game. Definitely a classic and top tier.
I have a love hate relationship with Alola. While I wish it wasn’t so hand holdy and linear, I have quite the soft spot for how fun and colorful the region was. It really captured the idea of a tropical getaway for the most part. And the OST was definitely one of the best in the series. Not the greatest, but certainly one of the best.
Spoilers aren't really a problem for when it comes to Pokemon games. I'm staying subbed. I won't have the game for awhile, so I'll survive by listening to the music.
With the starting segment of this, I can imagine Alolan Marowaks (one for each region and/or trio of Legendary pokemon) performing a fire dance with the same energy as the music.
This is my first 3ds pokemon game that I have played and maybe one of the best because of its memorable story line, characters and the totem pokemon. Even though i love gym leaders too, but the idea of totem pokemon are much better for me. I hope they can use this kind of concept in the next generations.

My god the nostalgia 😭😭pokemon sun was my first pokemon game and it was the best pokemon game I have ever played. I wish I can do a time travel to rediscover this beautiful game. I was 11 years old when the game came out mow I'm 16 years old and I enjoy my travel in legend arceus it's been 5 years now time flies.
Update:well I'm 17yr now and pokemon scarlet is so great! My love for pokemon never fade it's been 6 years now!! I'm still so happy to be a pokemon fan❤️❤️

Pokémon Ultra Moon was my first Pokémon game, I got it for Christmas in 2018, I still really love the Alola games. I remember having a conversation with a classmate recently who asked me about my favourite region, saying he'd be 'disappointed' if I said Alola, (my favourites are probably Unova and Alola) like so sorry for liking a region/game?? I mean there is also a nostalgia factor, this soundtrack specifically is just so nice to listen to😭😭
This right here was the beginning of a new era for Pokemon. A celebration of a lifetime. And I'm eternally grateful that I was around to see it.

I remember this game hype so well, it was the very first time that i got such chills for a pokemon game
I have such a soft spot for this game since it was my introduction into the Pokemon series. I never really understood all the fuss over a bunch of weird looking animals but after hearing the endearing music and exploring the colorful town, meeting characters and grinding for hours trying to grow my team of adorable battle beasts, I totally understand it now.

Goddamn.. brings back so many memories, technically this is my 2nd ever pokemon game I’ve played because when I was little I played my uncles Pokémon X/Y game, but gen 7 is the first pokemon game I’ve ever owned and finished by myself. And UGHHH I LOVE IT SO MUCH.. the ost is probably my favorite out of any Pokémon game. Down to the gameplay and even the villains. I truly wish I could forget this game just so I can replay it for the first time again.. I have so many feelings for this game and it was the last good gen tbh. Especially with the online plaza system, sucks they got rid of it in the newer games, cuz after I finished both pokemon moon and ultra moon all I did was online battles and I remember collecting a bunch of low level pokemon abd just random trading them and just got insanely overpowered Pokémon (which were probably hacked). A few months back I revisited the game to go on the online plaza and there were still a decent amount of ppl doing online trades and I got a few online battles, definitely not as popular as it once was obviously but revisiting it rly made me smile. *Also I used to have a crush on prof kukui and gladion LOL*

Not gonna lie, I didn't like the game much at first because I felt it was too kiddish. But I look back on it now and I actually really appreciate this game. Definitely a classic and top tier.

I have a love hate relationship with Alola. While I wish it wasn’t so hand holdy and linear, I have quite the soft spot for how fun and colorful the region was. It really captured the idea of a tropical getaway for the most part. And the OST was definitely one of the best in the series. Not the greatest, but certainly one of the best.

i loved the game XD. While it was another game about a boy/girl going through gyms/trials, it was unique in a way. It had a totally new feel to it
This is my first 3ds pokemon game that I have played and maybe one of the best because of its memorable story line, characters and the totem pokemon. Even though i love gym leaders too, but the idea of totem pokemon are much better for me. I hope they can use this kind of concept in the next generations.
