It just hit me why Kahili, a Flying-Type Elite Four Member, is a golfer. One stroke under par is a BIRDIE! Two strokes under par is a EAGLE! Three strokes under par is an ALBATROSS! BEST STEALTH PUN EVER!
Renzo she isn't a League Champion. back in the old days, people who cleared all of the trials and defeated all four Kahunas in a row were called Island Challenge "Champions". Kahili was one of them. And then Kukui and the Pokemon League happened.
In case anyone missed the pun with Kahili being a golf champion and using the flying type: Common terms in golf for being underpar include Eagle, Albatross, and Birdie.
Kahili is also literally the name of a golf course in Maui, Hawaii. And one more thing I didn't initially notice about Kahili is the fact that the handle of her golf club matches the color scheme of Toucannon's beak. Wew, Game Freak. You went all out with this chick, huh?
@@jonathano503 Aye. Because Marriland's first Sun Nuzlocke, that damn sandcastle and the damn yuki-onna killed Geum the Muk (Earth Power at 6 HP because he had to sacrifice someone to heal Trillium the Wishiwashi) and Lotus the Mudsdale (it had Heavy Slam and Rock Slide, but died to Blizzard due to being outsped). Later on, Kahili's damn bat killed Trillium (Air Slash was a OHKO because Schooling doesn't reform after healing, which is bullshit). Even later, Hala's damn yeti crab killed Mimulus the Passimian (bullshit crit Ice Hammer on the way in). After Olivia went smoothly (as smooth as it could, anyway), Kukui's damn snowy nine-tailed fox killed Rose the Oricorio (Blizzard) while his damn Rath from the Ben 10 franchise killed Yarrow the Decidueye (Fire-type Z-Move from Flare Blitz). Even in the successful revenge run, the mermaid sea lion killed Bamboozle the Pangoro with a cheap crit Moonblast (winning Revenge team was Toonie the Incineroar, Fluffball the Whimsicott, Maudé the Mudsdale, Outlette the Electivire, and Wingading the Pelipper).
I just realized how difficult a normal type elite four user would be. Like he/she could probably single handedly knock out my entire team with a beastly snorlax
Poké-Bob1000 My team was... Mudsdale, Salazzle, Mimikyu, Decidueye, Wishiwashi and... sadly I can't actually remember it off the top of my head, but if I can't remember it then it probably wasn't that big of a contributor. But it most certainly was not Lunala.
My in-game team: Decidueye, Magnezone, Arcanine, Slowbro, Gengar, and Dugtrio. Lol only 1 Alolan Pokemon and the rest were Gen 1. Their levels were barely over the E4s' so it was tough.
Everyone hates on Kahili, but I'm gonna give her due credit. Her non-involvement in the story aside, her innovative use of Flying types surprised me. The last thing I expected was entry-hazards, confusion, and flinch-stalling as her main techniques. Worthy of the Elite Four, in my opinion.
@@JRG_REDD there was a exp share in this game? Nah I turned that off tried it in X and Y made it less fun. I used GTNS to trade pokemon for 10% Zigard deconstructed all of them and form a 100% one early. Then I sweeped the entire elite four and made the champion look like a joke. I was one of the few who beat the champion first time. LoL.
Golf Girl was a great addition looking back at it. All the E4 can’t be your best buddies or an older woman obsessed with rock hard Pokémon or derpy Molayne. Golf girl provided a little rivalry, a little coldness that would naturally occur at such a high level of battling
You're sitting in your champion chair. And you hear the sound of a stomp and this starts playing. "Ah, the sound of MY Elite Four kicking some kid's trash." Also, you hear a holler.
Kahili's outfit actually fits as to why she is a flying type user. Because the Golf's scoring system is named over birds. Eagle, Birdie, Albatross and so on. It makes perfect sense now.
Mayor Milford Memeswell the rest are pieces of SHIT this is intense as fuck and it makes you know you are fighting 4 of the strongest trainers in the entire Alola Region
Gen 1: Leader theme. Peppy, tough battles. Gen 2: Also Leader theme. Intimidating, kinda scary, but fun. Gen 3: Intense brass tells you to pay attention real quick. Gen 4: Altered Leader theme. Energetic, pounding, tense. Gen 5: *Die* Gen 6: Drum and Bass snaps you into "aw hell" mode. Gen 7: *_E X T R A D I E_* Oh, and now Gen 8: The Eurobeat of fear Also, also Gen 9: Old and New, Killing You
@@yeeyt464 I enjoyed my battle against Kukui, and again the battle against Hau, still better than what Sword and Shield gave us. With Leon's personality traits being "Undefeated" and "Getting lost" you'd think Gamefreak could at least make him moderately difficult.
The battles against the Kahunas on your trial felt so casual and friendly up until this point. This theme is a reminder that you've yet to surpass the true test. It's time to see what experience you've gained on your journey... and this time there's no holding back.
The Illuminati the Water Type E4 from Kalos and really the only remotely challenging one out of them. if only because his gyarados and barbaracle have rngesus on their side
Idk if people have realized it yet, but Kahili is based off of the Kahili Golf Course in Waikapu, Hawaii. Nice of them to make that reference since its a popular golf course in Hawaii.
i miss this game. i still think it gets a lot of hate that it doesn’t deserve. i loved the story, and yeah sometimes the dialogue gets out of hand but it was genuinely interesting compared to the other games. the major characters felt surprisingly fleshed out and lusamine’s relationship with the UB was so unique. the new pokemon were good, it still had the full pokedex, had a fantastic high quality ost, had returning characters in the battle tree, and it continued the trend of making competitive battling more accessible. such an underrated game
I hope that gen 9 has music as good as gen 7 and that I have just as much fun with it as gen 7 (and the ability to access your pokes without paying an obscene price for a subscription but we all know Gamefreak/TPC/Nintendo)
I feel like sun and moon are gonna be the next black and white where they're over hated at first but then start to get loved again once nostalgia takes over and people see how good the games were actually were. Just give it a few more years.
@@Infinitytacos sun & moon and black & white feel so similar to me in many aspects tbh. Mainly because I feel both like they tried in the story department and did ok in that and they both tried different things in pokemon (BW with being the first non Japan inspired region and only having new mons in the main game, and sun & moon got rid of the gyms for trials) heck they even have the same exp system for some reason. All and all I can see why they’re by far my two favorites
I honestly haven't been this satisfied with a Pokémon game since gen1 and 2. I grew up playing the black and white Gameboy. Sun and Moon was definitely fun to play! And that's a sick elite four theme, probably the best one so far!
Broberon The Oberon Well if we're talking exclusively theme's, I'd put B/W 2 up there behind sun and moon then Johto. It's all personal preference though.
Together We Ride?? This is the best Elite Four theme, imo. The four trainers actually being difficult along with this theme playing makes battling with them much more intense.
The Chosen Dude yes, they are pretty difficult especially Hala, he's absolutely brutal plus the Exp Curve in this game makes it so you can't easily overlevel even with the Exp Share
What I love about this game is the lore/reasons behind the pokemon League and why Alola region did not have a League which made the game unique in my opinion XD
What I do hate about this is you're a 10 year old kid... I wish it was like X&Y when you're 16 and have a chance for romance... I know this is a kids game but have you seen some of the dialogue :O intense for a "kids" game XD
Who else here is freaking happy that this incredible elite four with a badass theme is YOUR elite four because you're their first champion? Edit: My most liked comment ever is about Pokémon. Amazing.
Gen 7 is highly regarded as the Weird Generation, more than even Generation 5. But I say that it is a decent generation with Pokemon Go being a huge hit, and Sun and Moon being pretty good. (Despite Ultra Sun & Moon being a scam) A lot of the music from the game is super underrated, and the Story was pretty good! And even the characters are great, even with Acerola having the biggest forehead known to Whatever-kind. Despite the weird graphics, I think the visuals were a lot better than most other modern pokemon games. So pretty cool games honestly.
Gen 7 is not just a great generation. It's the best. It has incredible battle themes, including USUM. The character development is comparable to that of N and Hugh, especially Gladion and Lillie. The characters treat you like friends, not like someone who stands in their way from victory. The graphics pushed the 3DS to its absolute limit. In short, no other Gen can top 7 for me. I guess b2w2 and SwSh are up there, but not as special as Sun and Moon.
You've felt the pain of the days when Exp. Share only effects one Pokemon, and then you accidentally put it in the PC, because it's a held item, then some time later, you want to use it, and have to remember which pokemon you gave it to. Or you become lazy and just do switch training.
This is why i like it forced onto you so people dont do stupid things like that. Why would you have it off?? Thanks pokemon shield for being the most communist a pokemon game has ever gotten
@@Nekiplex Some people turn off the exp share for a higher difficulty. Personally I prefer playing without it because I just feel like if I want a Pokémon to level up, I want it to do so because it defeated an opponent, not because another Pokémon did and it just sat in my party and did nothing.
So let's see what each generation gave us for new Elite Four types. Kanto: Ice, Fighting, Ghost, and Dragon Johto: Psychic, Poison, and Dark Hoenn: No new ones Sinnoh: Bug, Ground, and Fire Unova: No new ones Kalos: Steel and Water Alola: Rock and Flying We still have not had a Normal, Electric, Grass or Fairy Elite Four yet.
Danish James I like the theme, but it's nowhere near the level of the other themes you mentioned. Replace it with the Hoenn E4 theme and it's perfect ;)
Le Dapper Greninja None of them do. They all have effective counters to their counters. This gen was the first time the endgame and post-game gave me a ton of trouble because of how properly challenging they were.
Pikapower Also made another discovery: Exp. Share is the difficulty selector. I've heard that playing with it on makes the game about as easy as XY for some players, but the game becomes almost as brutal as Super Mystery Dungeon with it off, starting to become really challenging around the third island and ramping up from there. The Elite Four felt truly _elite_ during my run.
Yeah I never once have had the EXP share on and I've grinded my team all to the 60's through hellish hours on routes before progressing story specifically so I could stay ahead of the strong AF NPC's that keep rising up.
I love how a lot of people are making fun of the elite fours characters, but I like them. And like other comments this is one of the time Game Freak made the elite four challenging.
In my end i picked litten But i do grab a bunch of all around type counters during the adventure so yeah ... Also gotta get my boy Toxapex to do something :p
Nebby used Moongeist Beam! *Pallosand only loses half of its health* It's super effective! Pallosand used Shadow Ball! *Lunala gets wrecked* It's super effective! Nebby fainted! My legendary bat ghost thing got wrecked by a sandcastle
You think your experience with the sand-castle is bad? How about spamming Bullet Seed after it used three Iron Defenses, sitting there for hours, and then being greeted with a hyper potion. I almost rage quit that day.
*E4 member`s 1 pokemon gets crit on my pokemon on the very 1st turn* Me: GOD SAVE ME ITS THE ELITE FOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DaDood Right about Snorlax, Pulverising Pancake is beyond broken. I used mostly new Pokémon too, Snorlax was just a place holder till I could get a Null
Call me weird, but I actually think that Kahili is the best one out of the four. Yeah, you might not have met her before, but she went through the same experiences of the island trial as you did, which makes her so unique. She also has such a great pose and sprite. (Golf reference is GOLD (birdie) She's also unique in that she's the first Elite Four to specialize in Flying types EVER
She was my favorite too. And she was the first one I fought. I was hoping that the other 3 would also be some cool Ex-Trainers from the past like Kahili was, but nope. Just re-fights of not so interesting ppl.
Gajeel Redfox you know what would make the fight even more hellish? if she had a serene grace togekiss with a accuracy boosting item and air slash. 'gen 5/6 OU violently flashes by' what if gamefreak actually had elites that would do smogon/competitive tactics that would infuriate you to hell and back?
Wasn't THAT difficult. The only hard part for me was the trial with Mallow and her damn Lurantis. Other than that, the game wasn't too hard. It was the gen 4 games that really shook me. Hgss, DPP... Yeah..
Eh. You found Gen. 4 more difficult because you were younger then, simple as that. Whitney's Miltank, Cyrus, Cynthia's Garchomp, post-game Barry, Red's team--their 'mons all have 0 EV. For comparison, Hau's Alolan Raichu has full EVs (special attack + speed) and spams Psychic by mid-game. The second battle with Lusamine near the end likewise has a team with full EVs in addition to essentially having a free stat boost like the totems. And Sun/Moon happens to do this not in incremental steps, but goes all-out very early on (Ilima, Sina's Glaceon, Dexio's Espeon, the trials etc.). Someone who is playing through Pokemon for their first time ever is going to have far more trouble with gen. 7 than they will with any other gen.
Like I said, I'm telling people to approach this question through the lens of a total beginner. You and all the others are trying to make a rebuttal using personal anecdotes--completely pointless.
I don't know, if I was a total beginner, I think Sun and Moon would be the easiest games in the series. With the rival getting the Pokémon with the disadvantage, the experience share option, the game telling you what's super effective and what isn't... Plus there's always an abundance of catchable Pokémon with the type advantage before every Island Challenge.
Imagine if they didn’t let you heal at during the Elite 4 fights, that you had to go directly to the next one after fighting one, Gen 5 and 7 would kill us a lot
@@heinzdoofenshmirtz8643 almost, if you get increadibily lucky with crits and flinch and confusion, or use recovery user, both could work but yea calling it impossible is fair
I stopped playing video games back in 2014 (BW2), this theme is way better than i thought it was going to be, the suspense is right up there with the rest.
It’s been almost 6 years since these games came out and I honestly can’t believe it. I was in 6th grade and my friends and I had a sleepover on the day it came out. This is my favorite song from these games- I will never forget the hype of hearing this theme at 1 am trying to beat Sun for the first time. I know there are some that do not like these games, but for me they are the best- they brought me some of my favorite moments in life. I eagerly look forward to the release of the next odd gen games this November
I was in 12th grade! I remember playing and watching streams of this late in the evening while I ignored my homework. I live in a very northern place meaning it was pitch black out by 4pm so it’d just be me, my lamp, and my 3DS. I was taking on new responsibilities and was feeling like an adult for the first time 🥲 what I’d give to be that happy and oblivious again…SuMo’s soundtrack takes me back to those memories so easily and makes my chest feel tight in a happy way. Please enjoy your last year of grade school!!! It is hard but one day you’ll look upon the good memories with fondness
I was in 5th, and me and my brother both got ultra sun and moon for Christmas. I'll never forget how excited we were, played nonstop for a few days lol. I may be in 11 grade, but I still play it a lot lol, gen 7 is my favorite
Moonlight Lulamoon YES like literally though. I started up these fights and was like oh I bet this will be super easy. Started with the flying chick. That skarmory man. This has to be one of the best tracks in the game though.
Moonlight Lulamoon this game was the first time my little sister played Pokémon in her own. She had my one friend “coach” her for a bit and we watched her face this group. The very second this music started, he and I looked at each other and just said “oh shit....” Hell if an Elite Four to be introduced to ^^;
You know they ain't playin around when they use more than 3 Pokemon. I like how they went back to using 5 Pokemon each instead of 4 and IIRC the champion is the only trainer in the main game (besides yourself) with a full team.
The first time I heard this music I knew I fucked up by walking in there. I didn't have PP restoration items, so I ran out of moves at the champion. I had to SR so many times for that battle, but eventually I did it... I got perfect RNG and I beat Kukui.
Mimikyu counters everyone. I more or less sweeped the E4 with him. Probably would have taken out half of Kukui's team if Mimikyu hadn't choked and missed Play Rough twice. Then again my Mimikyu was level 67 because he's been my lead Pokemon for the past 10 or so hours of gameplay.
Kemo_Meme I usually pick based on a combination of that. Result was 4 fairy types on my team (Primarina, Ribombee, Mimikyu, Ninetails) and a horrible weakness to Poison. Almst got wiped by a random trainer's Garbodor lmao
Ice I remember that Garbodor, my weakness is really horrible though, Almost all the fighting types I faced had dark moves, which basically destroyed my Espeon, My Raticate was 4X weak to fighting, my Dugtrio was X2 weak to fighting, and my fire starter was X2 weak to fighting, my Mismagious also had a weakness to dark so it was not an option, I had a 10% Zygarde but it had horrible defense
Absolutely Epic. Sun/Moon was vastly underrated - if only just for this piece. The 3 stanza rhythm intro instead of the usual boring 4 just proves it. Masterpiece.
Also loved how their lead wasn't weak to it's common weaknesess so you could get screwed from the start FE acerola with that nice sableye, loved every second of the elite 4
It's funny how a lot of fans complained about the Exp Share feature making XY easy so they kept it off in this game and... well, a lot of asses got rekt *gamefreak staff laughing maniacally in the distance*
This Elite Four was the first to intimidate me which hasn't happened in a while. They put my team through the wringer which hasn't happened since Unova, kinda refreshing :)
I used atleast 12 revives during the elite 4. And on the champion I lost my entire team by the time his 3rd pokemon was thrown out. By far the hardest league in years. (My pokemon were heavily under-leveled)
I had a hard time with some of the Totem Pokemon, namely Lurantis. I didn't have any problem with the E4 and Kukui though. This was probably my best team or something, cause I'm like the only person who doesn't think the E4 was hard.
Love this. Sounds pretty dark and serious. Then again I don't think we've had a bad Elite Four theme so far. Unova, Hoenn and even Kalos all had really good themes for them.
Agreed, Kalos' Elite Four theme is good, but Unova and Hoenn are my favorites (I love Sinnoh, Johto and Kanto as well but those are basically just the Gym Leader themes, with a lowered pitch in Sinnoh's case). Gonna take some time to decide how this one fares against the rest, but I like it so far.
Everyone : Complains about being surprised from Kahili being a late game new character. Every previous elite 4 members : Uh... Edit : By previous elite 4 members, I meant members from elite 4 from the previous games. Sorry for the missunderstanding
I think its more that you get to know these characters over the course of the game, so the elite four feels personal, then kahili feels out of place amongst a lineup of characters youve had lasting impressions of. She wouldnt feel out of place if there were a completely seperate lineup of e4 members just like any other pokemon game. But sometimes change is good, and i like the direction the series is going in with making the e4 closely tied to the journey youve just gone on, and now the greatest of the foes youve faced are mounting one last assault before you reach the top.
Wasn’t XY like notorious for just throwing the elite 4 and champion at you without them being relative to the plot? No shade to XY’s elite as I love them but just saying
@@rune2O2O yeah kinda? one of the elite four was actually a member of team flare but nobody remembers that because she did absolutely nothing, it was almost like an afterthought, which is worse honestly.
Timmy Reobed that Toucannon was a monster. You couldn't touch it when it was using beak blast without getting burned. Not to mention that Ridiculously strong Z move
Mr.McDaniel96 McCord Eh. I just had Lycanroc hit it with Accelerock, tank the Z move, and finish it off with Stone Edge when it tried to use Beak Blast. Wasn't too much hassle.
Timmy Reobed fair enough lol. I didn't have Lycanroc in my team so I had more difficulty. Of course that's not the only way to beat her Toucannon, but it's certainly helpful XD
I already finished the game and... That was AMAZING! Can't wait to share my battle gameplay with you all when the game come out! :D Ps: Don't ask me any question related to the game. I don't want to spoils anybody. Just do the experience yourself ;)
Tbh, when Kahili is praising you, her facial expression makes her look quite pissed, like she's only praising you since it's part of the job application.
I honestly was *NOT* ready for this. When I went to face Gladion at the bottom of Mount Lanakila and then Hau at the summit, I was genuinely surprised at how strong they both had become. I didn't beat them without losing at least one of my team members. Now the Alola Elite Four? Let me break down just how fucked up these guys left me after each battle. 1. Hala- Utterly decimated my entire team besides my Decidueye and Lycanroc. His Bewear was a freaking nightmare for me. Let me repeat that. *Hala left me with only 2 Pokémon after I managed to beat him.* 2. Olivia (wife, I love Olivia so much)- Her Lycanroc outsped a lot of my vital team members including my own Lycanroc so taking it down was a matter of playing my cards right, healing at the right time and attacking at the right time. The rest of her team put up a good fight, especially her Probopass. Olivia kept overriding my Milotic's Rain Dance with Sandstorm and whenever I tried to attack using Hydro Pump, she'd have Probopass use Thunder Wave and slow down my Milotic majorly. I was down to 3 Pokémon once I managed to defeat Olivia. 3. Acerola- Tried taking advantage of my Lycanroc and Arcanine both knowing Crunch, but most of her Pokémon outsped them both (Which, might I add, *were my FASTEST POKÉMON*) so I once again had to play my cards right and not just rely on type advantages. Down to 4 Pokémon once I defeated her. 4. Kahili- Her setting up with Spikes through her Skarmory was incredibly smart and crafty. None of my Pokémon were airborne so I had to put up with damage all around my team, and she was definitely not a pushover. Down to only my Lycanroc when I managed to defeat her. All this while this intense, powerful, fast-paced, and utterly badass Elite Four theme is blaring through my 3DS's speakers. *Well fucking done, Game Freak.*
This was probably the hardest elite 4 since gen 5. First we had Hala, the fighting type user with very bulky and hard hitting Pokemon like his Hairyama and Crabominable with moves like Close Combat and Ice Hammer. Then you had Olivia the rock type user with Rock Pokemon who can easily take hits and hit back just as hard like her Very strong Lycanroc. Not to mention having 2 Pokemon with the sturdy ability. Then Acerola the ghost type user with 2 Pokemon with confuse Ray, an extremely fast and powerful Froslass with Blizzard, and a Driftblim that never dies. Finally we have the flying type elite 4 ( forgot her name) with a very bulky Skarmory that can set up hazards and a Toucannon with a powerful flying type Z-move and beak blast so you couldn't use a contact move without getting burned. These guys are all a tough challenge for me, game freak made them powerful.
Mr.McDaniel96 McCord what I like about is you might know them but they're still mysterious in their own way and powerful a combination of 5 gen also brought. gamefreak realize that they needed to bring a format similar to 5 gen with challenge and that's what this elite did perfectly
I like the idea of the elite four being comprised of people you’ve met beforehand, it makes it so it’s not this random group of strong trainers and is a cool rematch with a stronger team against people you’ve fought before
I love how the elite four were canonically formed like five minutes before you got there but they’re still some of the most challenging in the series

Kshitij Chaudhary Not to mention the diverse movepools most Normal-types have. Thunderbolt or Flamethrower nails you out of the blue. 0-0
Poké-Bob1000 i never use my legendary pokemon in the pokemon league, thats just unfair in my opinion, and and victory doesnt taste sweet
Worthy of the Elite Four, in my opinion.
yeah true for as much of a stranger to us ( she has a backstory) she was pretty good!
Nol See know why she's a flying elite four? she plays golf, but she knows about.... birdies

i miss this game. i still think it gets a lot of hate that it doesn’t deserve. i loved the story, and yeah sometimes the dialogue gets out of hand but it was genuinely interesting compared to the other games. the major characters felt surprisingly fleshed out and lusamine’s relationship with the UB was so unique. the new pokemon were good, it still had the full pokedex, had a fantastic high quality ost, had returning characters in the battle tree, and it continued the trend of making competitive battling more accessible. such an underrated game
@Swagkinglanny 112 No?
UB? You mean ugly bastards? Oh yeah ultra beats I get it...
I honestly haven't been this satisfied with a Pokémon game since gen1 and 2. I grew up playing the black and white Gameboy. Sun and Moon was definitely fun to play! And that's a sick elite four theme, probably the best one so far!

Winter xx yup. I gotta agree with you there.

JohnnyTheGaymer Is it confirmed that they are difficult?
The Chosen Dude yes, they are pretty difficult especially Hala, he's absolutely brutal

Gen 7 is highly regarded as the Weird Generation, more than even Generation 5.
But I say that it is a decent generation with Pokemon Go being a huge hit, and Sun and Moon being pretty good. (Despite Ultra Sun & Moon being a scam)
A lot of the music from the game is super underrated, and the Story was pretty good!
And even the characters are great, even with Acerola having the biggest forehead known to Whatever-kind.

It's odd how Gen 7 is my second favorite gen, I need to play the Alola games more.
I guess b2w2 and SwSh are up there, but not as special as Sun and Moon.
>when you're 10 levels below the Elite 4's mons because Exp. Share was turned off all game, and this song plays
Guess I'll just die.
You've felt the pain of the days when Exp. Share only effects one Pokemon, and then you accidentally put it in the PC, because it's a held item, then some time later, you want to use it, and have to remember which pokemon you gave it to. Or you become lazy and just do switch training.
Katherine Garlock being lazy is doing switch training? I thought being lazy was..
SCREW SWITCH TRAINING!
I turned off the EXP share
...but I also grinded lol
So let's see what each generation gave us for new Elite Four types.
Kanto: Ice, Fighting, Ghost, and Dragon
Johto: Psychic, Poison, and Dark
Hoenn: No new ones
Sinnoh: Bug, Ground, and Fire
Unova: No new ones
Kalos: Steel and Water
Alola: Rock and Flying
We still have not had a Normal, Electric, Grass or Fairy Elite Four yet.
Tyrannical Rex I thought we had a grass type in hoenn
Isaac Romo if you're talking about Phoebe she is a ghost type e4
Max Kordei He was probably thinking of Sydney, who uses a Shiftry and a Cacturne.
Technically Kanto's ghost-type E4 member is more of a poison-type Elite Four. Her pokemon only share all poison as their type.
Sooooo, Ilima, Mallow, Sophocles and Mina as the E4 for USUM?
In my opinion this is one of the best E4 themes to date
Second behind BW's
Ness Bound IMO the best themes are:
Kanto E4
BW E4
SM E4
Kanto doesn't even have an E4 theme, just the shitty Soul Silver Johto Gym theme.
Thirteen 1355 Well I like it personally even if they use the same theme for Gym/E4 😂
Danish James I like the theme, but it's nowhere near the level of the other themes you mentioned.
Replace it with the Hoenn E4 theme and it's perfect ;)

*Unova elite 4 have entered the chat*
Do not underestimate Olivia or Kahili purely because of their rock and flying types. They make good use of their types and do not fuck around.
Le Dapper Greninja None of them do. They all have effective counters to their counters. This gen was the first time the endgame and post-game gave me a ton of trouble because of how properly challenging they were.
Kahili's spikes made that fight a pain for electric types.
The Elite Four felt truly _elite_ during my run.
alolan golem tho, that thing slaughters ur water mons lmao
Yeah I never once have had the EXP share on and I've grinded my team all to the 60's through hellish hours on routes before progressing story specifically so I could stay ahead of the strong AF NPC's that keep rising up.
The fact that Acerola is acting as Nanu's replacement is hilarious. What a great family
Fresh 2D Toucher Buddies What was the reason she went promoted as an elite4?
Simple enough Nanu refused to be an elite 4. Nanu is a kahuna so that's why they asked him.

Nanu was asked to be part of the Elite Four, but he was having Nanu that shit.
I love how a lot of people are making fun of the elite fours characters, but I like them. And like other comments this is one of the time Game Freak made the elite four challenging.

I was so shocked at how surprisingly difficult this game was.
Mr Madness thought I was the only one.

Moonlight Lulamoon this game was the first time my little sister played Pokémon in her own. She had my one friend “coach” her for a bit and we watched her face this group. The very second this music started, he and I looked at each other and just said “oh shit....” Hell if an Elite Four to be introduced to ^^;
You know they ain't playin around when they use more than 3 Pokemon.
I got perfect RNG and I beat Kukui.
everyone: *serious pose*
acerola: owo
:3
nwn
=3
Everyone else: Elite 4 is serious business...
Acerola: This is so much fun!
•w•
Hala was kind of a joke for me since he kept using Fake Out on my Mimikyu, letting me get to +6 with swords dance.
Mimikyu counters Hala really well.
Mojo Robo that E4 was actually difficult for me cause I had 2 dark types
Mimikyu counters everyone. I more or less sweeped the E4 with him. Probably would have taken out half of Kukui's team if Mimikyu hadn't choked and missed Play Rough twice.
Then again my Mimikyu was level 67 because he's been my lead Pokemon for the past 10 or so hours of gameplay.
Ice well, my team was absolute garbage, because I was picking the pokemon based on appearance
I love how Hala, Olivia and Kahili look so pissed but then Acerola's just like MEOWWW HAPPY FUN TIMES WITH DRIFBLIM
SilverFoxes MEEEEOOOOOOWWWWWW
MEEEEEEOOWWWWW IM HAVING FUN WHIPING OUT YOUR POKEMON
"CHILD ABDUCTING BALLOONS ARE FUN, OKAY!?!?"
for me hala looks like he’s laughing
YAAAAAYYY LETS MAKE A SANDCASTLE!!
Absolutely Epic.
Sun/Moon was vastly underrated - if only just for this piece. The 3 stanza rhythm intro instead of the usual boring 4 just proves it. Masterpiece.
Also loved how their lead wasn't weak to it's common weaknesess so you could get screwed from the start
FE acerola with that nice sableye, loved every second of the elite 4
Yopuocra I had Mimikyu as the lead so it was no problem
Walked into Kahili with my minior leading and I nearly melted. Free spikes on my team
Good thing I had Primarina with moonblast and fucked her Sableye up! lol
Hala with the Knock Off Haryama tho and the sturdy Skarmory too, also the bulky relecanth that can be annoying if you didnt start with a grass type
Same with me. It was so easy to beat the Elite Four with Primarina.
It's funny how a lot of fans complained about the Exp Share feature making XY easy so they kept it off in this game and... well, a lot of asses got rekt
*gamefreak staff laughing maniacally in the distance*
+Kía S. I shut it down as soon as I got it.
THE WHOLE GAME WAS INCREDIBLY HARD FOR ME
"Uses Exp. share" Easy mode
"Don't use Exp. share" Whoop your ass mode
Kía S. And now you understand the benefit to the new Exp. Share mechanic.
I thought Exp. Share made training guys more palatable than slowly dragging guys out one by one.
Lord Fadora My point exactly.
This Elite Four was the first to intimidate me which hasn't happened in a while. They put my team through the wringer which hasn't happened since Unova, kinda refreshing :)
Everyone: serious faces
Acerola: :D

(≧∀≦)
Was I the only one who actually had a tough time with the elite four and champion, and in general the game?
WhiteNebula not at all, toughest pokemon game since the gen 1 days imo
I used atleast 12 revives during the elite 4. And on the champion I lost my entire team by the time his 3rd pokemon was thrown out. By far the hardest league in years. (My pokemon were heavily under-leveled)
Toughest Pokemon game since Gen 1 for me, and Gen 1 was hard due to balance issues!
I had a hard time with some of the Totem Pokemon, namely Lurantis. I didn't have any problem with the E4 and Kukui though. This was probably my best team or something, cause I'm like the only person who doesn't think the E4 was hard.
Totem wishiwashi was difficult because of that damn heal pulse but yeah the elite four definitely got harder (Thank God)
You got:
Daruk the Goron.
Urbosa the Gerudo.
Mipha the Zora.
And Revali the Rito.
All of them in this picture
Daruk: Hala
Urbosa: Olivia
Mipha: acerola
Revali: Kahili
Crap, your right!
Pretty much, yeah
Yeah I can see that
Acerola mipha is a bit of a stretch
Love this. Sounds pretty dark and serious. Then again I don't think we've had a bad Elite Four theme so far. Unova, Hoenn and even Kalos all had really good themes for them.
I like the Kalos theme, but it's not on par with this one, Unova, and Hoenn in my opinion.
Ikr biased
@Ink2985 And Caitlin
Acerola be looking like a Simipour
Chato Garcia hahaha true dat 😂😂😂 a ghost type simipour if ya ask me
Chato Garcia Alolan Simipour
*Toucannon, pissed off to the heavens, falls from the sky without flapping its wings at all*
Timmy Reobed this bird stays afloat with sheer anger
Daedric Winters oml XD
Timmy Reobed that Toucannon was a monster. You couldn't touch it when it was using beak blast without getting burned. Not to mention that Ridiculously strong Z move
Mr.McDaniel96 McCord
Eh.
Ps: Don't ask me any question related to the game. I don't want to spoils anybody. Just do the experience yourself ;)
Pokeli Be honest is the game worth getting?
Yes! :D
What? :/
Pokeli the video isn't working
Pokeli When do you get Zygarde?
Currently going through an Elite Four themes nostalgia run and I’m getting emotional? So many memories. 26 and still playing Pokémon 😭👊🏼
Never is too old to play Pokemon
Took me a while to figure out why the Flying-type expert is a golfer... Birdies, eagles, albatrosses, golf lingo is full of birds.
Tbh, when Kahili is praising you, her facial expression makes her look quite pissed, like she's only praising you since it's part of the job application.
Maybe she's really praising you, but is just perpetually angry.
Harvey Noble Like Toucannon
She's kinda female Gladion in that regard.
Anyone else picture them battling trainers and wrecking their team while you await the next challenger like a badass at the top of the league?
Azukay49 me
That's what happens when you're not playing
1:39 best bit, the part where it sounds like you're falling out of control and everything is coming down around you.
*Hala left me with only 2 Pokémon after I managed to beat him.*
*Well fucking done, Game Freak.*
when your mom screams your full name
When you enter her room Arceus's theme plays.
Jesus Christ.
Neko Nomica no Ghetsis' theme from BW plays!
When you meet an edgy kid, Glodion's theme plays.
Dickolas
This music just screams
D E S P A I R
*somewhere in the distance, Monokuma is maniacally laughing*
I can totally hear that....
And then when your team gets wrecked he screams "EXTREEEEEEEEEEEME"
Upupupupu...
Pokémon Sun/Moon but somehow Monokuma is the champion and forces a region-wide killing game because it's fucking Monokuma goddamnit
I see the Danganronpa fandom is doing well
You’re not just fighting THE elite four… you’re fighting your elite four!
This theme is like Full Restore Spamming, but at the same time where are my revive gone?
*Pulls out super soaker filled with full restores* I'm ready.
Gyner YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T BE THE CHAMPION WITHOUT KNOWING HOW TO SPAM FULL RESTORES!
I beat the Elite four Yesterday and the Theme fits really perfect.
The only way I could beat the champion was with full restore and revives mid-battle. XP
(Not really proud of my acheivment though...)
why is the rum gone?!
Flower jack yeah there's still a lot more to learn about them especially the flying type elite 4. The only one we know pretty well is Hala
Mr.McDaniel96 McCord Kahili
Mystiv Nathan yeah I remember now, I couldn't think of it off the top of my head when I posted that first comment. Thanks!
Sydney Nguyen that's a pretty cool team there. Did you have any sort of trouble with Acerola? Ghost types hurt a lot of your team
when i first challenged the elite four i was like "HEY I REMEMBER YOU GUYS" then i saw Kahili and like "where were u all this time playing golf?"
I like the idea of the elite four being comprised of people you’ve met beforehand, it makes it so it’s not this random group of strong trainers and is a cool rematch with a stronger team against people you’ve fought before
Pokemon reborn does this really well.
That's a really spooky theme for a golf player. Man, i don't wanna know how hard she owns people at golf.
All of my Pokemon were Level 63 yet I still had trouble with this
(might be because I forget to get Full Restores)
MegaLegoLuigiEX ayyy, i forget the full restores too, but my best pokemon are Incineroar, level 54 xD
Nice
+Kazusituh Souda Yeah, mine as well since I immediately turned off the exp share as soon as I received it. :D
MegaLegoLuigiEX YOU DON'T GET TO BE THE POKEMON LEAGUE CHAMPION WHITOUT KNOWING HOW TO SPAM FULL RESTORES
god I didn't even know that it would lock you in so I didn't even have items lmao
good thing I bought a random 15 revives
I´m in love with this whole game
me too
One of the few good things about Sun and Moon was that the Elite Four music finally felt serious again.
