In archeops's defense, Indominus had a negative attack nature and was often a lower level since he had a full team so early and it would have avoided a lot of Defeatist-ing if it wasn't so unlucky
The first time I ever played the ultra games, I didn't use my starter. I used the event Own Tempo Rockruff/ Dusk Lycanrock in it's place. So I never saw the emotional moment with my starter at the League's front door until my second playthrough. Haven't regretted it though. That was my favorite team of all time.
Everyone always wonders why I like Lileep. Crazily is actually EXTREMELY solid as a Pokemon thanks to Defense and Special Defense being quite bulky. Ya it's attacks are lower and its time as a Lileep is utter suffering, but have a Lileep for stuff like Battle Frontiers or Challenges, and build it for stall? The thing just won't quit
I'm pretty sure Hau's final team before the credits has some EV training done and good IVs on top. His Pokémon were also outspeeding mine in cases when they really shouldn't and I know for a fact that we didn't have low EVs or a low IV on Speed. Also, I'm 99% sure Photon Geyser ignores the target's ability. Mimikyu's very lucky that Necrozma's AI priorities a super effective Smart Strike instead.
I first time I beat it I used a hippowdon and a carracosta. Hippowdon had sand stream and Carracosta had Sturdy. I just kept reviving them because I had 100 revival herbs on me. It died from the sandstorm and aqua jet eventually.
I'm doing a similar run on Ultra Sun. Primarina was my obvious starter, which synergized nicely with Totem Marowak and Totem Lurantis. Soon after, I added Tyrunt (now Tyrantrum) and eventually Totem Vikavolt. The last Pokémon added to my team was Totem Mimikyu, even though both its types overlapped on my team, but... I didn't really have many other options at that point (plus you can get Mimikyu's Z-move before the Komo-oo trial, so...). I am now stuck at the Ultra Necrozma fight, so I'll need to train my team up a bit.
31:41 The reason Libre was outsped by both Taurus and Leafeon is likely due to both having 252 speed EVs in this battle (as well as 252 attack EVs, to explain why Taurus was so strong). The AI actually has really good stats for almost every fight, which is kinda scary.
I chose umbreon for my playthrough as well, a great decision, he got me out of some tight spots, tanked some hard hits that allowed me to heal my hitters many a occasion. I kept him in my team for that reason. Not many fights could one hit him, so I could get at least two heals off him b4 he went down.
This is easily the best play through video you've done man. The variety of the newer games definitely lends itself to these kinds of series. Keep it up!
Hence why I love that you can just outright buy mints and silver bottle caps and all that jazz in S/V. See a poké you like? Cool, catch it, and the only thing you have to look out for a bit is EV-training, which again is very alleviated by 252 being the max and the power items.
@@TIGOfficialYT Being honest, the Alola games don't favor Archeops. Totem pokemons from the point he's usable all have a speed boost making so that ouspeeding them isn't a reliable strategy most of the time (the only exception is Togedemaru, who instead resist Archeops's stabs, and has a +2 defense boost). And since Archeops isn't bulky, totems easily put him in defeatist. Then for trainer bosses, the pokemons they have are often very bulky or incredibly speedy since in gen 7, the bosses all have teams with perfect ivs and are ev trained from at least the begining of the 3rd island (which is also part of why gen 7 is very hard to nuzlocke). Archeops's gameplan is to one-shot things left and rights with acrobatics before u-turning, so of course the one generation where they make every bosses way stronger than usual is it's worse region, which also applies to most pokemons.
@Noah Cafaro it was a hassle for me and I've been playing since red and blue. It's like hey let's put pokemon that are annoying to battle against in the game
I haven’t beaten ultra moon yet, but what I do love about that the game is that I think my maybe 2nd encounter not sure if I had any other Pokémon yet, I encountered a full odds shiny buneary. I named him Curly and he loves me and is incredibly good at using Return.
Seeing you struggle with Guzma's Masquerain brought back unfortunate memories of my mono-Ghost run of Sun, where I came back to the challenge after forgetting about it for a year right before the Guzma fight at Aether Paradise only to have my whole team swept by his Masquerain. Not a great comeback.
That fucking Masquerain is complete bullshit. It feels like it has choice scarf, choice specs, wide glasses so its air slash never misses, assault vest and king's rock at the same time since it outsped even plus speed natured pokés of mine, did a stupid amount of damage, was bulky as all hell and flinched like 9/10 times. It definitely has EVs and great IVs, cuz it's like the one pokémon I struggled hard against (well... aside from Lusamine's Milotic and the totem Araquanid when doing a mono-fire type run but that was very expected). But a fucking *Masquerain???*
I rewatched this entire run 3 times and remember the demon bug masquirane, killing the shiny, the crit happy Taurus, and primarina being an absolute God! #bestalolastarter
i like how i commented "Can't wait for all the random shinies he's magically gonna encounter now, and won't be able to catch them." on the first video of this USUM series and I was right XDDDD
I respect you from keeping using Archeops when obtaining that Aerodactyl after talking about the struggles it went through. And then it gets replaced with Hawlucha soon afterwards. rip
Do a Pokémon shield mono-flying challenge. You’ll have to wait for a while until you both have Pokéballs and reach route 1 but for 3 early game flying types that evolve well before the first gym (caterpie evolves likely before reaching the wild area, provided you grind and hoothoot likely evolves just before Milo or during Milo) and corviknight is amazing later. Even corvisquire is pretty good against Milo and quite a few other people so it ends up being a bit easy at the start. Although Pokémon like hop’s pincurchin, Leon’s dragapult and mr rime (if you pick a Scorbunny) and other Pokémon could be troublesome, but if you strategise how to get past those problem areas, you can do it fairly easily.
I’m currently in the middle of my first sword play through, I decided to not use my starter most of the run, getting rid of it a bit before milo, and so my team is actually really unique, some of the Pokémon on it are not usually used, and for a long while corviknight was my ace, until I got a sand spitting sandaconda, which is now easily my ace, and if I ever run into a grass/water type, I have my arctozolt
I think he should do a nuzlocke run but, he can’t evolve any Pokémon, he can only use the Pokémon in the area it’s caught, no x items, and he resets if his one Pokémon faints

“This rag covered monstrosity was RUINING MY DAY.” How do you think I feel when I had to do this with no knowledge of any Pokémon, as it was my first Pokémon game. I was stuck on this for like 6 months, it sucked
Remember your play through videos like “Can you beat Pokémon FireRed with only normal type moves” and “Can you beat Pokémon Platinum”? Do it again with “Can you beat Let’s go Pikachu with a team of field move users without them ever forgetting their field moves”, with Pikachu knowing Floaty Fall before Sky Dash and Splishy Splash before Sea Skim, a traded Farfetch’d with Cut before Chop Down, a traded Alakazam with Flash before Light Up and Teleport, a Machamp with Strength before Strong Push, a Pokémon that knows Dig like a Diglett, and a Chansey that knows Soft-Boiled, and when the field move counterpart is used, the corresponding Pokémon that knows it has to be following the player (Farfetch’d for Chop Down, Alakazam for Light Up and Pokémon center entry, Machamp for Strong Push, Diglett/Dugtrio for Escape Rope usage, and Chansey for potion and recovery usage).
When I played Pokémon sun, the mimikyu ai was bad. It used mimic but outsped me so I used icy wind. Then after the mimikyu learned and used icy wind I waterinium Z’d it and KO’d.

Don't get me started every good pokemon I catch just has a terrible nature. I don't know why but I was cursed with terrible natures.
Hence why I love that you can just outright buy mints and silver bottle caps and all that jazz in S/V. See a poké you like? Cool, catch it, and the only thing you have to look out for a bit is EV-training, which again is very alleviated by 252 being the max and the power items.
Archeops: Ohkos golisopod and damaged pinser twice
Mikey: I don’t like him
To be fair, Archeops also caused him other really bad loses or near losses so... 😂
@@TIGOfficialYT Wouldn't have done so if he knew how to use Archeops.
@@lyncario5515 That's true too, but tbf Archeops sort of sucked to begin with.

Ok

Same here!
I just love how tough gen 7 was.. totally underrated
Sun and moon alone were a pain in the ass to do.
@Noah Cafaro it was a hassle for me and I've been playing since red and blue. It's like hey let's put pokemon that are annoying to battle against in the game
@@marinegator1833 yeah man those totem battles were really tough!
Except for the millions of cutscenes in the early game these games were great and deserve more support
@@uraveragepokemonshipper1855 i think they reduced them in USUM so i was fine with that

@@victoriamilk2865 Litten ofc, such a cute cat
Good luck with cutscenes, they are tedious and unskippable.
@@Velociraptor2000 i love the cutcenes and i really enjoyed sm
seeing how they made the ultras better, I'm really happy that it was my very first pokemon game
I haven’t beaten ultra moon yet, but what I do love about that the game is that I think my maybe 2nd encounter not sure if I had any other Pokémon yet, I encountered a full odds shiny buneary. I named him Curly and he loves me and is incredibly good at using Return.
The mimikyu trial was always the hardest for me. I remember coming up with an elaborate strategy using ditto and a graveler with steelium z to beat it
Seeing you struggle with Guzma's Masquerain brought back unfortunate memories of my mono-Ghost run of Sun, where I came back to the challenge after forgetting about it for a year right before the Guzma fight at Aether Paradise only to have my whole team swept by his Masquerain.
It did get base stat increases to Special Attack and Speed in this generation, just to add. +20 on both.
I rewatched this entire run 3 times and remember the demon bug masquirane, killing the shiny, the crit happy Taurus, and primarina being an absolute God!
#bestalolastarter
I do to
Thanks to special defense nature
@Apple Head XD OMG Isee it too
i like how i commented "Can't wait for all the random shinies he's magically gonna encounter now, and won't be able to catch them." on the first video of this USUM series and I was right XDDDD
No way XD
Nah the reference of shieldon being like a wall and date tech having a hell of a wall in haikyu is genius
I love that he named sheildon after datech and theur iron wall
I respect you from keeping using Archeops when obtaining that Aerodactyl after talking about the struggles it went through.
And then it gets replaced with Hawlucha soon afterwards. rip
I remember this
That god damn Masquiraine
That's your mom.
Yep

The monster
i didint have a problem with masquirain
The reshiram flashbacks are coming in
Micheal: *rages at a pokemon game again*

I was just rewatching the series and as u said "I will put one vid on main channel" notification pop up! 🤣🤣
That series on the second channel was interesting.
that special defense nature of fabio saved mikey
The potions saved him
Omg watching that stupid araquinid brought me the worst memories of fighting it over like 6 times on my first playthrough 😭
Why did I think that you meant that Mikey could only use pure-flying types
I was wrong
@@necrozma4029 mono-flying means you can only use flying types. Pure flying means uhh…corvisquire only and tornadus?
oooooh, mono flying in SW/SH sounds really fun. You get Pidove pretty early and Corviknight is a really good tank.
So you're saying... TEEAM SKYYYYYYY GALAR BRANCH!
I get it! I get the shieldon iron wall of date tech reference!
Smallant has entered the chat. Smallant does challenge “can you beat pokemon sun and moon without using a single pokemon”
Wait did he?
I think he should do a nuzlocke run but, he can’t evolve any Pokémon, he can only use the Pokémon in the area it’s caught, no x items, and he resets if his one Pokémon faints
Whenever I do these play throughs, I always let myself catch shiny Pokémon, but I have to immediately put them in the Pokebank or Pokémon Home
Michael: “I think libre had a speed lowering nature or garbage effort values”
Also Michael: *Shows a footage early that clearly show that libre had a docile nature*
Great job remembering things mikey
Oh and I forgot, he said that Fabio had a ‘great’ nature which was timid… Mikey really?

“This rag covered monstrosity was RUINING MY DAY.”
How do you think I feel when I had to do this with no knowledge of any Pokémon, as it was my first Pokémon game.
The funniest parts of this video are when Michael refer to his Alolan Jumbo-Raticate as Chompers instead of Chipmunk.
Ok, you all know by now that “might I say I’m not a fan” will become a meme.
Another "no catching" challange...i feel a disturbance in the shiny hunting side of the force

Archeop's ability Defeatist, is the second worst ability in the entire Pokémon franchise. The number #1 worst is Slaking's Truant ability. Hence why I often pair mine with Cofagrigus.
