Let’s see…. she freezes hundreds of Pokémon in stasis for her own pleasure and enjoyment, nearly kills Nebby by painfully absorbing its power to create Ultra Wormholes and showing no remorse for it whatsoever, even having the audacity to call it a "loud and annoying Pokemon" as it screams in agony, is a frighteningly realistic portrayal of a narcissistic and abusive parent who treats her children more like dolls than actual people and was so downright awful that they finally had enough of it and straight up ran away from her which later caused her to cruelly disown them, drugs and infects her own beloved Pokémon with Nihilego's toxins to fight the player, is perfectly willing to (and almost does) destroy all of Alola by flooding it with dangerous Ultra Beasts for her own selfish desires and finally, willingly fuses with Nihilego to transform herself into a nightmarish alien tentacle lady that attempts to later directly kill the player and Lillie (her own daughter) in a last-ditch effort to win. Rated E for Everyone.
The scariest thing about her is that in the context of the game, she’s behaving like a player. She’s just catching and keeping all the pokemon like collectibles in a game.
It weird how how much she mirrors players, even down to be willing to do anything to get a hold of some special pokemon, in her case an Ultra Beast, in our case Shinys and Mythics. Really makes you think.

Ngl, this one actually gave me chills down my spine because of how much this lyrical adaption goes more into Lusamine's character from regular Sun and Moon. The preservationist who wishes to keep her collection contained for eternity, Ultra Beasts included, and will go to the most extreme lengths to fulfill that goal. Guess you could say... she truly is the Echidna of Pokemon.
Lillie's lines really help make this, especially her rebuttal in the third loop and her soft gasp when Lusamine flat-out dismisses her as being her child. Seeing Juno's beautiful Moonlily illustration doesn't hurt, either.

Maybe the Pokémon direct would announce a Sun and Moon remake after Legends Z-A happens and but then Ultra version didn’t happen on Nintendo Switch just the 3DS version so I think the remake is Ultimate Sun and Ultimate Moon or Legends Necrozma
You forgetting a key detail, nihilego's toxins. Which is why USM!Lusamine is very different, Lillie wasn't lying when she said her mother drastically changed in SM.

I'd say if there was a difference between the two it would be that Sectonia saw only herself as worthy of the world and distorted herself into pure vanity against her will. While Lusamine does have similar feelings about herself, she also sees herself apart of a greater group (aka the ultra beasts) though at the same time she sees humans as well as her own children beneath this greater species .
What makes the fate of Lusamine's "private collection" ever worse is that, given gameplay mechanics, we know that Pokémon can survive being frozen solid. So, those poor creatures are stuck there, alive and conscious! Truly a fate worse than death!
this... i dont like this. i (mostly) agree with you, just to clarify, and that's exactly why i dont like this because yeah, there's a good chance those pokemon have been stuck like that for a long time. but in a pokemon battle, the freezing is often a lot less significant for a shorter period of time so... given how much more serious it is in this case, there's a good chance those pokemon's suffering... well it went gone on for a while, but at least it might be over now
Absolutely CRUSHED this! Both VAs did such a fantastic job with their roles, Lusamine especially, and having Lillie's rebuttals throughout expressing her horror at her mother's actions really helped, too
I like how Lillie is assertive here compared to the canon game and is standing up to her mother while the player looks angry but determined while holding Lillie's hand.
I agree with you, Lusamine is corrupted by her tragic situations and past (Lillie confirmed in the games that Lusamine was a good, sweet and caring person before the tragedy of her husband took place) she was a tragic antagonist and did bad things following a twisted logic because to her, life lost it's spark the moment she lost the love of her life and the father of her kids, naturally, she wasn't gonna be a happy woman after that sad incident, it doesn't justify her actions of course, but it makes sense why she was the way she was (the pain of losing Mohn was truly the event that made Lusamine lose her sanity slowly, that's why she's still a little bit crazy in USUM, Nihilego made that even worse in S/M, which is why USUM Lusamine at least can be reasonable sometimes in those games).

Man, this lyrics really gives the idea of madness, exactly love madness, that Lusamine had succumbed because of Nihilego's neurotoxines, and this thing, mixed with her and her company's goal to protect Pokémons, made Lusamine a woman who lost every reason because of her obsession with Ultra Creatures and for that she doesn't pay attention to the Pokèmons' wellness, the right thing to do and, most importantly, her kids, who had no choice but going against her and the Æther Foundation for Pokémon's sake.
this was a songtober i would listen to over and over, thinking there would unfortunately never be a full version, but deep down, hoping I could be proven wrong. The sheer joy I felt when I saw Lusamine in the thumbnail of a newer MOTI video is un-describable. The song is an absolute banger, one of my favorites you've made. You see the problem here is that the protagonist isn’t Lillie. Because apparently Game Freak is trying to fulfill the obligatory self insert character to destroy any potential immersion you could have in a Pokemon game that isn’t a spin off. Not to mention we’re working with Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon footage. Although it’s clear we’re referring to the actually good version from Sun and Moon.
I'm so glad people realize how much better the original "Twisted Collector Who Abandoned Her Children" version of Lusamine was as opposed to the "Misunderstood Anti-Hero/Goofy Mom" version Game Freak keeps trying to force on us because they realized they wrote a villain that was too realistically evil

Despite her age, her words are the cries of a child. Wounded and wishing for a world of no pain when pain is an inherent and necessary part of life. There is no love without pain. "Your words are vile, they stain my smile" really show how anything that harms her utopia is her enemy and needs to be folded into perfection for still things can't hurt but nor can they love. Face a mother's love... She forgot what love is because the loss of Mohn stung her so much.

I agree with you, Lusamine is corrupted by her tragic situations and past (Lillie confirmed in the games that Lusamine was a good, sweet and caring person before the tragedy of her husband took place) she was a tragic antagonist and did bad things following a twisted logic because to her, life lost it's spark the moment she lost the love of her life and the father of her kids, naturally, she wasn't gonna be a happy woman after that sad incident, it doesn't justify her actions of course, but it makes sense why she was the way she was (the pain of losing Mohn was truly the event that made Lusamine lose her sanity slowly, that's why she's still a little bit crazy in USUM, Nihilego made that even worse in S/M, which is why USUM Lusamine at least can be reasonable sometimes in those games).
I believe the word you're looking for is "antagonist", not villain. Since she herself isn't exactly evil.
@@Rocky-brilliant It's also implied Nihilego's neurotoxins messed with her mind. It has an unfortunate side-effect of removing inhibitions from the person. It was also implied Lusamine came into contact with Nihilego some time prior to the events of the game.

I wasn't expecting Lusamine to sound like a character out of an opera, but goddamn, it works.
Man, this lyrics really gives the idea of madness, exactly love madness, that Lusamine had succumbed because of Nihilego's neurotoxines, and this thing, mixed with her and her company's goal to protect Pokémons, made Lusamine a woman who lost every reason because of her obsession with Ultra Creatures and for that she doesn't pay attention to the Pokèmons' wellness, the right thing to do and, most importantly, her kids, who had no choice but going against her and the Æther Foundation for Pokémon's sake.
this was a songtober i would listen to over and over, thinking there would unfortunately never be a full version, but deep down, hoping I could be proven wrong. The sheer joy I felt when I saw Lusamine in the thumbnail of a newer MOTI video is un-describable. The song is an absolute banger, one of my favorites you've made. Not to mention the BEAUTIFUL art made by Juno. I thank you all so much for making my hopes into a reality and bringing hot crazy mom back

Quite in interesting take for the lyrics on Lusamine. The voice and the lyrics do fit her well in the main game. I'm quite curious how much the voice will change if we do get Mother Beast cover of it. Either way, great cover.

You see the problem here is that the protagonist isn’t Lillie. Because apparently Game Freak is trying to fulfill the obligatory self insert character to destroy any potential immersion you could have in a Pokemon game that isn’t a spin off. Not to mention we’re working with Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon footage.
Although it’s clear we’re referring to the actually good version from Sun and Moon.

I'm so glad people realize how much better the original "Twisted Collector Who Abandoned Her Children" version of Lusamine was as opposed to the "Misunderstood Anti-Hero/Goofy Mom" version Game Freak keeps trying to force on us because they realized they wrote a villain that was too realistically evil
I don't think they're ignoring this version of the character at all, they're just keeping her on her "road to recovery" we saw her at her worst, doesn't mean she needs to remain that way. :)
