Oh Charlie, how we loved you and that wild(aqua net) hair with those suede blue eyes! Your music is absolutely wonderful! Loved you then and love you now.
At 16 years old, Charlie this angelical boy, Charlie Sexton already was writing lyrics and music, this big hit HOLD ME was a successful.... That still been live by my generation and the new ones!
I had an older brother that lived in Austin, Tx. back in the day when he was known as Little Charlie Sexton. My brother would come up to Ohio and tell me all about how cool Austin was and Little Charlie. I finally moved to Austin 30 years later and got to see Charlie perform. He's got a little Bowie in him and that's alright with me. He looked well and played that guitar like a muthah! Hey Continental Club! Please put some more seats along the walls where people stand, give our feet a break. TY!
I been listening Charlie Sexton songs from a very long time, he was 16 when HOLD ME was a huge success, he write his songs and compose the music, and he's in some movies too, plus he has a long career. He was Blessed by God, a man of incredible beauty, but he was and is always humble. I want to go to one of his concerts in Texas.
Incredible. Charlie had the total package: the looks, the voice, the guitar chops. I still can't get over how young he was when this album came out. He was only 16 or 17, but he looked and sounded so mature. It's hard to believe that Justin Bieber is the same age that Charlie was in this video.
Around 14/15 possibly. toured with Joe Ely same year Journey headlined at the the Texxas Jam. Jesse Guitar Taylor broke his hand & Charlie filled in. I already knew of him. I met him in Lubbock at Fat Dawgs with Joe and the gang. My sister hung out with Will in Austin, Will & The Kill days.
From the artists eyes, when I saw Charlie since The "Hold Me" song, I saw an angel, God bless Charlie with this angelical looks from head to toes. Believe me it's a God's blessing.
@27tlk Just saw him last Saturday night, the 1st of Jan. at the Continental Club on S. Congress Ave. in Austin, Tx. along with his brother, Will, Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton. I don't know the other guys that played with them that night but between all of them, (seven guys) there was probably no less than 210 years of combined musical talent on that stage and it showed. 5 guitars on stage!!! Will never see another show that good for $10 or any other price, ever again! That's no bs! RIP Stevie.
Thanks for posting this..Charlie is amazing here, so underrated. I wish he'd do more solo stuff like this. Bob Dylan is damn lucky to have Charlie in his band all these years but Charlie should be out front tearin' it up! What a voice & phenemenol guitar player!
In fact, when this comment was posted (2013) he was working on a project called "the Nauts" with Jakob Dylan and Dave Matthews that has never been released.
man, does this take me back.I remember seeing his ·1st video, thinking this guy will be HUGE. he deserved a better fate. would definitely be a great behind the scenes story. He should've blown up ,and btw, given a choice Sexton vs. Dylan, I'm screaming for Charlie.
(NZ) hey there. Had LP record when he had short hair back in 1970s. This version is great. Good voice, most beautiful eyes. Seen interviews with him, hes kinda cool. 😉
I definitively can't separate Charlie Sexton from the vision of Some Kind of Wonderful with Mary Stuart Masterson and Lea Thompson.. This guy was pretty terrific and magnetic I agree with all the people saying he deserved a whole lot more success
I saw Dylan on the "Lost Cities" tour and realized Charlie was playing guitar for him. As the song ended I yelled "hey Charlie" and he looked half embarassed and Bob just took the moment to introduce him. To be honest I'm much more of a fan of Charlie. Love the Arc Angels stuff and "neighborhood" is one of my all time favorites from anyone. He certainly has not let his art wall him in, a brilliant, creative and somehow seemingly humble guy.
wore that tape out back when he first hit the scene, finally met him when he was touring with Arc Angels. A really, really cool, down to earth guy. Love him always, amazing talent he's has only got better with time.
P.J.Proby did the big hit version of this song in 1964.Charlie's is not bad but Proby's IS the original & one & only.Take a listen to it please! I'm not knocking this version but I'd love the younger generation to give P.J. a go!
Oh Charlie, how we loved you and that wild(aqua net) hair with those suede blue eyes! Your music is absolutely wonderful! Loved you then and love you now.
Aqua net. Lol. Haven’t used that in years myself.
Still use aquanet.
Spritz Forte by Sebastian
1:51 1:53 1:54 1:55 😮🎉😂❤😊
高校生の頃から大好きです。日本のアーティストで1番大好きな氷室京介さんのライブでギターで参加した時は大興奮だった!
The eyes, the hair, them cheekbones and the music.....takes me back to being 16 and playing his album non-stop 😊
And the lips 😍
lol I just got into vinyls because of my mom and she had a record of his and she scratched it from playing it so much in her youth 😂
Such a talented musician and singer
That voice, that hair, that guitar playing, that look ...OMG...this version by Charlie is totally sensational!!! LOVE you!
😍🤘😎✌❤👍💋👏❣🙏
Yes, indeed, Charlie was my favorite face to drawing and paint 🖌️🎨 in his youth, he looked like an Angel, it's how I think angels looks like
don’t you love 80s hair
charlie so talented and that voice 💋
That do probably required an entire can of Aquanet to achieve.
Im still watching it in 2020....:)...love this song.....great memories of the 80s
Well said!!🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒
Love this and Impressed. 2020 ❤️❤️❤️
Mee too!
At 16 years old, Charlie this angelical boy, Charlie Sexton already was writing lyrics and music, this big hit HOLD ME was a successful.... That still been live by my generation and the new ones!
This album is coming up on 40 years.
I still play it like it came out yesterday.
😊 DITTO

um i dont know about his solos sorry not even in the right key hes not a great soloist, but thats only a small part of the song. Hes a great singer
Does anyone else feel that this song should have been in the movie Eddie and the Cruisers?
This dude was how old when he did this? 16 or 17? You just don't find talent like this anymore.
As for talent like this, he likes Black Pumas, has even played with them.
yes you do ! Dig deeper !!! Look at these kids just for starters, took me literally 5 seconds to find online: ruclips.net/video/GgQlCMx66ZQ/видео.html
Those eyes and the voice!!!! Oohhh my heart ❤️
Hot guy in the days...hot man right now!!💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟
From the artists eyes, when I saw Charlie since The "Hold Me" song, I saw an angel, God bless Charlie with this angelical looks from head to toes. Believe me it's a God's blessing.
Sweet gorgeous men both Charlie and Will. They STILL own my heart.
Wowza ..the eyes..the hair that voice 😍 🤤
Very. Beautiful. God. Bless. You. Charlie. Love. You.

We played this song 100 times when we went away in the Army. A 40 ouncer of Rum helped us sing just like Charlie. Well we thought it did.
His black and white music video did no justice. Damn! Had I known his eyes were that blue. Lol.
Oh !! how I miss the 80s
A 1930s cabaret song has been given a killer version in the most genuine rock and roll!
Serio?! Wow
Still love him! The memories…80s ❤❤❤
Saw him at six flags senior night in 86. We were front row!!! Awesome concert!!!!!
Charlie is even more talented now...that face... that voice !!!! he will always have a piece of my heart!!
Awesome!
I got to see him at The State Theater in Kalamazoo. It was an awesome show.
Currently Bob Dylan's lead guitarist. Saw him play last night and he's still a great guitarist
Thats interesting. Charlie was born in 1968, at the height of Dylan's popularity. He is a better singer than Bob.
I knew the 1st time I heard this song 30+ yrs ago that this would be my wedding song when I get married... ❤ 👰
I loved this guy growing up. Those eyes, his voice and his musical talent ❤️
I love this 🎵 song, awesome!!! Still listening on 07-2022 ❤️
He's got those girls in the palm of his hand😊

I saw him once across from the Beverly Center and he was Even more Beautiful in person. Stunning 🤩
He's touring....
In fact, when this comment was posted (2013) he was working on a project called "the Nauts" with Jakob Dylan and Dave Matthews that has never been released.

Agreed!
mu mother had me have this song on repeat..Barry
Great guitarist and the coolest hair.
This is awesome! Can't believe I never heard it "back in the day".
Ja to znalazłam przypadkiem dzisiaj...I zakochałam się w ich utworach.
4:02 Check out that "the look" Charlie gives. What a little actor playing up the the audience. Great showman & singer, songwriter, guitarist!
