Do an annual vid bud, you’re retired in Koh Samui, it’s YOUR time, enjoy YOUR life! You helped sooooo many during covid. You owe us nothing, I’ll stay subscribed for that random vid to pop up. Always thankful 🙏
I wanted to let you know the impact you had on my life. I have recently been accepted into the ICare family. I think I am the lone assistant living in Chiang Mai and just began my duties yesterday. As this is a public forum, I will not go into the details. Let's just say that I am helping some of the hill tribe students that are sponsored by ICare. I would never have had the opportunity or desire to do this if it hadn't been for your videos highlighting their work. For that, I wanted to say thank you. If you do go forward with your videos, I hope you keep highlighting the lives of Thai people and the work that ICare, among many other organizations, are doing. Personally, I am never interested in your party videos as they are a dime a dozen on RUclips. Your "day in the life" videos and your oddities videos are most appealing to me. As I said, without those, I would not have found myself doing what I am now. Many blessings to you and your family.
could I possibly reach out to you about this? I live in Chiang Mai as well, a little over a year now. I am a teacher but would really like to get into a different profession in about 6 months. I have a background in social work and BA in psychology, would like to go down the same line somehow. Congrats on your new opportunity
heyy Chris, i was telling my girl yesterday he is in love with Koh Samui and thats the reason we haven't got to see any of his videos. We love you Chris and you're the reason we will be moving soon to Thailand :)
Just got back from 2 weeks in Thailand. I was a first timer. I hit Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket. Your videos helped a lot. On arrival, I followed your directions exactly at the airport. Thanks Bro
You're the hardest working retired man that I know. It's about time that you started to enjoy your retirement. You've done more to promote Thailand and its people than any other vlogger. You're a RUclips legend and I always hear your name mentioned when someone mentions their video influences. We hope that you and your beautiful wife Haelee have many years enjoying the island life. Thank you for entertaining and educating me throughout the years.
Hi Chris, My wife and I have been watching your videos for the last three or so years. We have visited Koh Samui twice before and are planning on going back in Feb 2025 with my sister/brother in law, daughter and her friend (their first time ever) for my wife’s 50th birthday. We’re from Adelaide, Australia and would love to catch up with you and your beautiful wife for either a drink or to say ‘hi’ as we are so appreciative of everything you’ve shared on RUclips about visiting or living in Thailand. 👌🏼 Cheers, Rafael..
Chris, your insights were one of the key reasons we visited Thailand this year and we have already booked again for 2025. Absolutely fell in love with Koh Samui. Great to have you back and wanted to wish you and Hayley, health & happiness.
I subscribed when you made the brilliant video with the light switch in Soi Cowboy during the pandemi, When you made the pay forward videos you gave me the guts to do something similar. So you helped me help other, even tho in a much smaller scale. Kindness is underrated. Wait for your next video and hope it comes soon. Find peace and make some videos for us please. All the best to you and your family.
Hooray, Chris is alive and kicking. You rock (excuse the pun) early. Your nephew is doing well with his own channel. The Parker surname is right up there.
Hello Chris, thanks for coming back on !!and it was nice seeing you again. We are coming in November as you know hopefully we get to meeting you and Haley . can’t wait.!!😘
Take your time, when you have clarity and somthing to share you are passionate about most of the people will be here to welcome you!🙏 Congratz on your transformation 🎉🫂✨
This was a great and sad video. I have watched Chris since day 2 of the push up challenge. I have seen him build this channel, brand, put out 2 videos a week, support worthy causes, and most important...help people fall in love with Thailand. I have seen all the hard work, dedication, and energy that went into all of this and when you watch it you think, WOW what a lifestyle. I can also see how it is time to switch life to a slower gear and I have this gut feeling that this may be the start of the big slowdown. Going full bore for 6-7 years can be tough. Will we see what we saw over the last 2 -3 years going forward? This is ok, it is great, definitely deserved. Just feels...well... you know.
Agree with your take completely. I kept wondering for so long where does he get this energy? How long will that last he has to start slowing down at some time..yeah I too think is the crossroads
Welcome back Chris , we just got back from a 28 day trip Bangkok , Chiang Mai ( left the day it started to flood ) Phuket and Koh Samui , yep it does rain but we had about 4 wet days in total , most of the rain was early morning or late evening , it’s the best time to visit Thailand , Even done some video with Jay down at 5 Star Marine , great prices , quiet streets and beaches , no waiting in restaurants and shops , it’s the perfect time , Samui was our last stop and got back last Saturday , it was great , Lamai beach calm warm water , hot days , Thai food , cold beers , Perfect
So glad you are relaxing in Koh Samui. We were there in August and went to dinner at Mr Enug on your recommendation. He is such a funny man. We had a great meal. Samui is such a beautiful island. As much as we miss you on the tube we are glad you are well and happy.
Good to know you arrived and feeling comfortable and relaxed on Samui. I came here in April, escaping from the air pollution of Chiang Mai which I thought would be my home base. Hope to see you somewhere here on the island soon. And thank you so much for your great work.
So glad you’re enjoying Samui and some rest and relaxation. Was great talking to you the other day. Sorry for the early morning wake up call. The boys were having fun!!! Hope to see you sometime soon. Until then keep on keeping on. Love ya brother.
Great to see a new video post! I was anxiously waiting for the next one. They are always enjoyable to watch. Like many comment, you are the key reason I may end up in Samui for retirement too. By the way, sorry that I blocked you in and that you had to move my rental vehicle!
My Man! I was in Samui last Christmas and New Year and I loved it. So I'm coming back in December. But I'm gonna be in Bangkok for Christmas and coming to Samui for New Year. And I cannot wait. Hope to see you there.
Great to see you back Chris . I really hope you find the drive to keep posting , even if it’s only once in a while . We’ve been informed and entertained by you’re antics and travels . Best of luck . Enjoy your continued retirement , however that plays out 😎🍺
I'm so glad to see you happy, relaxed, and enjoying everything that Moonstone and Koh Samui have to offer. Chris, your videos have truly been a game changer for me. After following you since the beginning of RW4U, and even serving on the Board of Directors, I’ve finally made the decision to semi-retire, splitting my time between France and Thailand. And for once, the term 'influencer' fits perfectly because you genuinely 'influenced' me to choose Thailand for this new chapter in my life. Bangkok, Samui, Hua Hin? I’m not sure yet, but today marks the first day of the rest of my life. Thank you, Chris! Take care...
Living in Samui definitely has its appeal. In fact, I have been considering doing just that, and it could be arranged quite easily instead of Bangkok, as we own a villa there. But there are a few things that one needs to consider before making the move. First, unlike Chris, I am not retired yet, and I need to be able to fly to other places in ASEAN relatively easily. Samui has an airport, with international connections with Singapore and Hong Kong, but for other destinations, it is necessary to fly out via Bangkok. Not a deal-breaker, but definitely a hassle. The other area of concern is what people call "Island Rot", i.e. the fact of living in relative isolation, in what for most people is a holiday destination. After a while, there may be a risk of deep boredom and possibly even mental health issues. But all in all, one has to admit that there are much worse places to live and retire than Koh Samui.
I'll eagerly await any futures videos you do. The chill laid back vibe you have always drew me in because I am similar in that regard, I'm not necessarily against the wild side of Bangkok but it definitely isn't really my speed. I'd probably watch anything you do travel related honestly. Can't blame you either, I'm from a rural area and while the idea of living in Bangkok sounds appealing in my 30's and 40's, I think by the time I hit 50 I'd probably be willing to trade the convenience of everything there to be back in nature and get a nice sea breeze. Enjoy your time dude. I'll be here to watch when you're ready to post more.
Retired! Don't Give Up: Chris I have watching your videos since the beginning, and hope nothing but the best for you man, as a fellow Ontarian I had hope to meet you in Bangkok, now I hope to meet you in Samui. my channel centers on Northern Thailand, but I could only dream of the following you have, love your Teenee app would love to contribute to it. I will be in Krabi next month but would make a special detour to might you.
Glad you're getting settled in, Chris. I love the new place, even though I've only seen a peek of it. Island life is a million times better for your mental and physical health. Looking forward to hearing from you again, my friend.
Great to know you are doing well. Enjoy your time. Do what you love and what makes you happy. That’s what everyone is searching for. I miss your videos but it looks like you found paradise. Our area of Tampa Bay Florida just got hit by hurricane Milton. A lot of us are still without power and while my condo I rent did not sustain damage, many people’s houses were flooded. I’ve lived in the area for 65 years and been through many hurricanes, and this was the first one that really frightened me. I miss Thailand can’t wait to return.
OMG- GREAT SEEING BACK!!! We miss your videos and were wondering what ever happened to you….thanks for posting this one! My husband and myself stayed at the Melia a couple of years ago & loved it:) Thanks to you 😊 Sending love & positive vibes to you & Haley 😘 Please post more videos 🙏🏼
Yeeeeahhh.. you are back! Quit everything in Germany 2 years ago and living in Thailand since then! Thank you so much for all the inspiration! Looking forward to new videos from Samui… All the best for you, Hailee and your whole family… Khop Khun Kap!
Hi Chris Thanks for the video from Koh Samui. Enjoy your life and I will look forward to any video you decide to make in the future. Cheers Julie from Australia
One of my friends got a job in Thailand back in 2022 and I started checking up things about Thailand and ran into your channel. I've been looking forward to visiting for a very long time and finally came here exactly a month ago. I absolutely loved the time here. Sadly I had to cut my trip short and I'd be flying back home in a couple of days but I would be coming back very soon.
Chris, appreciate you brother! Thanks for the inspiration and all the incredible informative bits for us up and coming retirees. Rest-up and rejuvenate. See you when we see you.
Lived in Samui for two months. I loved the candid little community and getting to know locals & chatting with them. It is refreshing (to me) to get to talk to same people. Feels like a big family
I LOOOVE that you are retired working for YOU now (truly!) Thanks to amazing creators like you, I am coming to Koch Samui for 10 days after Christmas to look at places to live! I am so excited to explore all that KS and Thailand has to offer! I hope more videos will come but if not, enjoy your island life! You’ve earned it!! 🙏🏼🩷
Greetings Chris Parker, nice to see you back! Looks like you are having too much fun there on the island as you are picking up weight around the stomach. It’s time to get back active on the content side of things again as we miss having you around providing great insights on a number of topics in The Kingdom of Thailand. Nice ride! Thanks for sharing and we look forward to seeing more of you soon. Oh, where is that light switch and give our regards to Hae Lee.
I love to travel during low season. Easier to find accommodation and book flights. Weather is greyer and rain comes and goes but people are more chill than the 2 week wonders that tend to populate the high season. I got my ya ya's out quite awhile back so I can do without the jell-o shots (do they still do that?) and screaming chuggers. I live on what some might consider a desert island in the Philippines (think Koh Samui circa 50 years ago) so it's fun to compare notes with like minded people who've pulled the rip cord on life in the western rat race. Anyway, nice to see you back, Chris. I used to live on Sukhumvit Soi 12 right across the street from Cabbages and Condoms some 20 years ago and this is my first visit to Thailand in about 10 years. Much has changed and you've been a great resource . Many thanks!
On the other hand, how you could choose Samui puzzles me. The place is an ant hill. It's lost its charm. Getting around in Bangkok is easier, cheaper, and safer than Samui.
Hey there Mr Parker great to see you again 🙏 we are still out here this side of your camera and hope to see you again soooooon ! All the best from Scotland 🏴🙏🇹🇭
Hey Chris...It's great to get that update from you. Your life is yours to live brother, so enjoy the shorts and flip-flops as long as you see fit. You are really making Koh Samui sound like a place i should visit, when I get to Thailand in March. As for your videos...post them if you got them, don't post them if you don't. It's your call. Take care...
I am still out there. I'm still in Thailand on Soi 26 because you helped get me here. It's been a fun 3 months, but now we're down to the last couple weeks. Can't wait to get back to the USA!
Yeah, I learned the hard way not to visit Samui in Mid-November last year. LOTS of rain! But, who cares - I loved my time there so much. Fantastic island. So beautiful and peaceful and your Isan restaurant suggestion on TeeNee was one of the best meals I ever had!! Happy you made it back to the island and glad to have you back on RUclips again!
Thank you for all you content! We have watched your channel since the beginning and it got us through Covid with hope!!! We were married on Samui in 1993 at the HOPE OF KOH SAMUI CHURCH it is a special place. And Thank you also for the best party in Bangkok at your meet and greet we met so many cool people including yourself. Stay Cool 🇨🇦 Enjoy Life!
One of my favourite RUclipsrs SideTripLife on here only makes videos every month or so. He’s a Canadian as well and makes SE Asia travel videos just like you. No need to feel obliged to push out content for the sake of it. Enjoy life 👌🏼
I hope this isn't the final video, I feel you got so much more to give but also gain. Channel seemed to fall apart since your intern and nephew left. Hope you get that oomph again to film but if this is it. Thank you for the memories shared, we loved every second.
You’re alive, Chris! You’re so entertaining, man. Loving Samui. Just how touristy does it get though? Just post when the creative juices are flowing, dude.
Another great video, thanks! Have been watching you since your video from Arkbar Koh Samui, so it is poetic that you semi-retire from your retirement in Koh Samui some 4-5 years later! Looking forward to any future content, but you have deserved a flip-flop lifestyle, so make sure to enjoy it! :)
Switched to flipflop mode a year ago too, Canary Islands in my case. Totally get what you're saying, but can't wait to see more about your new life in Samui!
Absolutely cracked me up. You are the #1 guy for Thailand insight goodness and some great chuckles. Great seeing you Chris and hope you will check in. Maybe consider creating some "shorts" so that you won't have to spend a lot of time editing. I like that SUV you have is that a gas or diesel and what is that like buying one and then driving etc..
I've been there since you fell into that pond. Got inspiration from your video with Iglu and took the plunge. I've been in Thailand for a few months now, and I love it. Thanks for everything 🙏
Welcome back Chris great to see you back was missing your high energy interesting videos looks like your enjoying the new life in Samui. Keep up the great work Cheers Irish Paul

Wow, very touching, nice comment.

You’ve done your part Chris. You’ve inspired thousands over the years with your Thailand videos. If you want to ride into the sunset, then so be it.

Hi Chris,

Same here. We went to Railay Beach and drunk coffee at the coffee shop. Keep it up, mate.m you’re doing better than the Thailand Tourist Board

I wondered what happened to you. Now I know, you have become an island man. Best of luck to you. I’ll be watching when you return again.

Great to have you back again, I've missed your reports from 'the Alistair Cooke of Thailand'. Looking forward to more from Koh Samui
Good for you, Chris - you've definitely earned it. Thanks again for all the Thailand content over the years, definitely appreciated!
Good to see you again 🎉

Living in Samui definitely has its appeal. In fact, I have been considering doing just that, and it could be arranged quite easily instead of Bangkok, as we own a villa there.
Great to see you are doing well. You've helped so many people during the depressing co vid time. I wish you the best for your retirement.
Welcome back brother!
Great to hear you are loving life and have been away for good reasons!

Woohoo! Good to see you back! Was starting to think you’d retired from retiring for us.
Yeeeeahhh.. you are back!

Its good to see another vid of yours! We will be arriving there early January. I hope all is well with you. ❤
Welcome back! Nice to see you again!
I am still out there. I'm still in Thailand on Soi 26 because you helped get me here. It's been a fun 3 months, but now we're down to the last couple weeks. Can't wait to get back to the USA!
You're living your dream, nothing more needs saying. Be at peace my friend (I know we don't know each other but most of us feel like we do).
The coloring and editing has significantly improved
Good job 👏🏼
Good to see youre doing well and enjoying life.
Thank goodness you’re back
Thank you for all you content!
Great to see you in good health. Stay safe..God bless.
Chris, thanks for the trips around Thailand. Very much appreciated. 🩴🩴
Great to see you back! Hope you are settling well.
Thank you so much Cris, for sharing all these useful informations! Hope to meet you one day in Samui, will come over there in may!
Great to see you back Chris....missed the videos!
I’m seeing a stoned Jack Nicholson vibe.
Beat me to it😅.
Was going to say Jack Black and Jack Nicholson's love child.
Great to see you back Chris and lovely to see Choengmon beach my favourite
Happy for you, mate, all the very best. Nice seeing you so happy!!!
You’re alive, Chris! You’re so entertaining, man. Loving Samui. Just how touristy does it get though? Just post when the creative juices are flowing, dude.
Nice one, Chris. Good to hear from you again. Enjoy Samui life 😊
Great to see you're still there.. Greetz from The Netherlands!
So great to see you again!
Welcome back Chris great to see you back was missing your high energy interesting videos looks like your enjoying the new life in Samui. Keep up the great work Cheers Irish Paul
Good to see you back
Nice to have you back
Good to see you back Chris. Albeit briefly! Keep 'em coming mate.
Good to see you again. Almost two years since your meet and greet. In Chang Mai.
