To those of you looking to donate towards more scholarships for kids like I have a donation portal set up that ensures 100% of anything you donate goes directly to the people in need. Any amount you donate is appreciated: www.livingwatersphuket.com/rw4u/
If you want to be like Andreas and the anonymous person and give a FULL SCHOLARSHIP then you rock, and you can also contact Michael at iCare directly here: www.icarethailand.com/
Thanks to everyone who donated last year and everyone who will donate this year. It's so amazing the RW4U Community step up and make this happen!!

Girlfriends family are builders and Yes the live on the job site and move around.
This Video is about earning a Living Wage in Thailand and how most Thais take out loans and are in debt.
Some employers exploit workers, treat them poorly, as mentioned here do Not pay them the last wages owed.
I can not imagine how some feel having to borrow money to send their kids to school and have next to nothing.

My Wife and I took a young girl from HS, got her English classes, brought her to the US for a year and then put her through cram school. She got into ABAG, graduated, and now has a career in financial services. She came from a broken home, dysfunctional parents and terrible poverty. It’s such a sense of joy to see what she has become, and we celebrated Thanksgiving with her in BK last year. Videos like this, looking at the sweet smiles of these young people, remind me of what it’s like to change these kids’ lives. Powerful video.

As a single dad I work my ass off to make ends meet, so unfortunately, I am not able to contribute to your wonderful organisation at this point😢 I would love to have a beer with you when I am in samui next October and discuss the options to help you in another way or form 🙏🙏🙏 may Buddha let the sun shine upon your path🙏🙏🙏

@@Rodderz1you may be right but I have had very different experiences - when I lived and worked in Thailand for a few years, my Thai boss and owner of the company was always generous, paying for scholarships every year and he was far from being a billionaire but certainly very wealthy by Thai standards. I always found out about these things from other people - he never talked about it as he was also a very humble man who sought no glory or adulation for what he did.

This was a really good video. I lived and worked in Thailand for a few years as an ex-pat and during that time and since, I have heard so many stories from other ex-pats about how they, or somebody they knew had married a local lady and it didn’t end well for them, with all the stories about what comes with marrying a Thai, such as becoming an ATM for the wider family. So much cynicism and stereotyping, maybe with some justification but probably also very one-sided stories. Videos like these remind us that there are huge numbers of Thai families in abject poverty, not looking to rip anybody off, having very modest expectations from life and making huge sacrifices just to survive. You have shown us some of the real Thailand here - not the craziness of Bangkok or the beautiful resorts and luxury hotels and restaurants that so many tourists form their views of Thailand around, but the kind of lives that most Thai people live around the country.

The Chris I love is Back!!! Great story buddy. Heart felt! As sad as this story is I have seen much worse. I know a young lady that was in the same situation. She decided she had to help her family. She loves her family. So she went on her own to Bangkok at fifteen and started selling her body on the streets of Bangkok. She did that many years sending money to her family. Her family never knew what she was doing.. She is very smart while working the streets of Bangkok she put her self through college. She now owns her own company and her family is doing well now. Please help these kids.

It is heart-breaking to witness these kids languishing in indigent rural families. You have really done an immaculate job to help these kids thrive on distressing conditions. Such story would dishearten anybody in the West but it is just commonplace in a lot of Asian nations.

We foreigners do not always understand why family is so important for Thai's. Just look at this video and you understand. Great story and all the best for this family and all the kids at the school. Well done to the 2 donators - much respect.
