There is an extreme difference between public filming in Thailand versus the U.S. or Canada. The Thai people in this video are so friendly and even want to be filmed! If that was in the U.S. you would have people ready to confront you and saying, "You don't have my permission to film me!" And they would be ready to fight..lol...Love Thai's!

For those for you who haven't been to Thailand yet, just go. Chris's comment about Bangkok being less formulaic is spot on in so many ways. No matter what you're doing, you feel alive with all of the others who feel alive. Always talk to the strangers in Bangkok.

Been to many countries backpacking. So many wonderful experiences just about everywhere. When I remember each one, I know it made life full and meaningful. Whatever you do in your life, don’t leave out visiting Thailand (it will enrich your life experience and change your outlook like very few places can). Thailand has my favorite food of anywhere in the world. Even those little portable restaurant carts have five star flavor & quality. People are friendly and generally not overly greedy.

Every time I go to Bangkok depending on the weather I just intentionally "get lost" at least one day on my trip. I will find an area I want to explore, go there on the BTS get off and just wander around for most of the day. I usually find some really amazing food and interesting locations. Also for people wanting to see parts of the city that are seldom visited I suggest going on a bike tour.

Great job Uncle Chris! I'm so glad the Thai language challenge is sold out. Everyone who is enrolled you won't regret it. Chris, that's exactly how you use Thai; you just go out and speak what you know; who cares if it's perfect Thai because the most important lesson is to overcome the fear. Beautiful video. Beautiful reminder that the beauty of Bangkok is not in its golden temples or massage parlors, but in the smell of grilled fish, the sound of a 7 Eleven door chime, and the sight of friendly people smiling. ❤️ รักในหลวง ❤

Nice! It was fun to join you on the commute home. My wife's cousin took me on a tour of Bangkok using the various forms of transportation one time. It was a lot of fun, and we got to see so much more than we would have just taking a taxi everywhere.

I really like the way you see the world and especially Thailand. I'm retired, in Thailand. Love the vids Chris!

It's Wat Pha Si. I used to live across from it on New Petchburi. Lovely area.

Hey Chris I'm a fellow Canadian from Vancouver, almost retired, starting to do research on moving to Thailand. I'm really considering Hua Hin, but I will take a good look at Bangkok, and see if I want to stay in the city or start out somewhere more quiet and laid back; the beach life is my dream.

22:00 " thank god. It had been 20 seconds since I had seen a fresh Thai restaurant." 😂 so true. Hey, question check me if I'm wrong but those don't look like River or can certainly Canal fish. Bangkok being close to the ocean are there plenty of ocean fish available fresh to Street vendors and side Road restaurants like that?

Am I a total goober for liking the dub over during the water taxi ride? Tune just married up nicely w/the video. Love the narrated walk-abouts. Think they resonate with those that do or have done the same when in BKK. Hopefully, it will encourage those visiting this amazing city to randomly explore. See ya around....

Oh my goodness ❤ I just got reminded why I love Thailand ( not that I really needed to) I love walking around in Bangkok and I think I'd like to spend more time there. We only do a few days of each holiday there as I do like to see the sea and then there's the visit to the village 😊, that very quickly soaks up 2 weeks! 🤨 Still, only 1 year 9 months and 22 days until retirement, not like I'm counting or anything 😂 hoping that I will be able to spend more time in amazing Thailand 😊😊😊

We are lucky in Bangkok to have so many good expat teachers. The salaries may not be very much higher than at home but the working conditions are infinitely better than in their home countries. Here they are respected and appreciated, plus they have a great chance of going home alive after each working day.

Perfect video Chris! We live in the Satorrn Bang Rak area so it’s a little far from Ekkamai. To keep up, we are looking to enroll in a Thai language class. Thank you for the inspiration. Chris & Faby
