      Do you have to add any PAG oil to the new dryer? The Nissan manual says to add 2 ounces of PAG oil before installing.

    That plate was installed upside down under the dryer. I know from experience. Cause all my refrigerant to leak. Lmao I first uninstalled it the correct position and was watching your video and did it because you did it because I was questioning myself. Well I flipped it and the o rings were able to seal properly. No more leak.

      Not sure how you got it wrong. There is only one way to install it. The plate has a raised edge on the bottom. There is no way to install it upside-down.

    Great clear videos Sir!
    Question, those O-rings looked very loose and a little different in size, did you have any issues by chance?
    I saw some other people who have had issues with the aftermarket O-rings like this..

    • @DIYtime
      @DIYtime  5 лет назад +2

      Great attention to details!
      I just didnt have the right size at the moment of the recording, so I just used another one for visual. But if you cant find the exact size, its ok to use a lightly bigger o-ring. It will seal the connection just fine. On the other side, if you use a smaller o-ring - it may stretch a little or even rip when you connect the pipes, and wont have a tight seal anymore.

      @@DIYtime Ok, a few other questions I want to ask.
      I am almost ready to replace my 2010 Altima Compressor, condenser and dryer/accumulator.
      1) Is there an orifice tube I need to replace, if so where is it?
      2) How much PAG oil will I need to add and to where once I replace the Condenser?
      3) I understand some oil may get in other parts of the system but I wouldn't think it does anything in the condenser besides take up space... So with my logic (which I'm not sure is right) shouldn't I just add it all back to the compressor while I am changing it?
      Thanks

    • @DIYtime
      @DIYtime  5 лет назад +1

      1) No, your car doesnt have it. It mostly found on older cars.

    • @DIYtime
      @DIYtime  5 лет назад +1

      2) Read the description of your replacement compressor. Very often it cones refilled with correct amount of oil. If not, normally there is a sticker under the hood saying how much oil is needed. If you don't have a sticker, you would need to check that info in repair manual.

    • @DIYtime
      @DIYtime  5 лет назад +1

      3) Oil circulates through the AC system with refrigerant. Yes, in condenser there is no moving parts, so it doesn't lubricate anything. It is probably serves anti corrosion function though. If you replacing condenser, you need to add 2.5 US fl oz of oil. And you are correct, you would add it through the compressor.

    Sir I have a question ... I have the Nissan Juke 2015 I checked and inside most connection looks same as in the movie ... in my case Once the car warms up to operating temperature and I'm in park with the car idling, the compressor comes on for 5-10 seconds and then off for 5-10 seconds. It just continues with that cycle. If I turn the climate OFF everything its normal. IM SO CONFUSE ... its the A/C Pressure Sensor Switch fault, the HEATER CLIMATE CONTROL SWITCH PANEL fault, the sensors inside the cabin fault ??... I went to dealer and good trick the mechanic turned the climate off and everything went fain Dealer diagnose nothing going on with a 36000 miles Nissan Juke 2015. When back home I turned the climate ON and again the compressor comes on for 5-10 seconds and then off for 5-10 seconds. I know I'm not craz... I want to fix it but I don't know what to do. I checked the pressure for AC its normal in the spec ... I schedule appointment at AC Nissan Mechanic for full diagnoze. Please help What Can Be?

      Sounds like your car should be still under warranty. I wouldn't recommend touching anything, because you may void the warranty. Take it to dealer and tell them to fix it. If they keep saying this is ok, get a second opinion from another shop.

    Hey, it's me again lol did you have to add any oil after replacing the receiver drier or expansion valve? I'll be replacing the expansion valve while I'm there. If so, what kind of oil? PAG 46? What oil did you use to lubricate the o rings? Lol sorry, I just want to do the job right, first time.

    • @DIYtime
      @DIYtime  6 лет назад

      In my case all refrigerant escaped the system and I had to buy a new one. If your system is not leaking, you need to go to mechanic who has special equipment to evacuate freon first. They can store freon for you until you are finished with repair, and then they will put it back into the AC system. If you want to charge your system with brand new refrigerant, that's also fine. It is not too expensive if you buy it yourself. Around $15-20 for most cars.

    Hello. How empty the sistem ac please.

    • @Aesthetics622
      @Aesthetics622 Месяц назад

      you either bust one of the lines somewhere middle of no where, or you draw the freon with a machine, but more then likely people always accidently remove the wrong line and the freon discharges so then that job is done for them lol then use a vacuum to take out all the moisture then you can recharge it make sure its holding pressure.

    I have 2008 altima 3.5, ac compressor clutch was not engaging...fuses ok...wires to compressor ok..when i went to the pressure sensor to make sure its not loose i damaged the connector on thr receiver drier..now pressure sensor is disconnected but to my suprise ac clutch is engaging!!! How is tht possible? As i knw the clutch will not engage when the pressure sensor is disconnected

    • @DIYtime

      Check the pressure in the system. If it's too high or too low, sensor will shut off the AC compressor.

      The pressure is ok...i just broked the connector plug from the pressure switch..so probably i have to replace the receiver drier or the pressure switch...my question is the ac clutch is engaging and ac cools..but how is this possible tht ac clutch is working when pressure sensor is not connected?

    • @DIYtime

      If you open the AC system, this part must be replaced. It is designed to adsorb moisture, which can get in there from the atmosphere when AC system is open during servicing.

    Hello I have a question for you. my wife have a 2011 nissan maxima and the compressor won't engage. it was blowing real cold. I did notice my kids keep opening and closing the rear vents playing with it. and the all of a sudden the a/c compressor shut just shut off. what do you think happened. and where do I start. and what do I check for first. my wife is getting on my nerves thank you sir.

    • @DIYtime
      @DIYtime  6 лет назад

      I don't think closing and opening vents has anything to do with AC breaking down, it is probably just coincidence.
      Try to see if AC compressor clutch is engaging when you turn on the AC, if it's possible. I'm not sure whre AC compressor is located on your car, and if you can ecven see it easily.
      Look at some of my other videos to get an idea of wat to look for.
      Next step would be to check if there is a pressure in the system. You'll probably have to go to mechanic, if you didn't happen to have AC manifild gauge for that.

    • @worldwidesports4k
      @worldwidesports4k 6 лет назад

      DIY-time update. I remove the freon with the recovery machine. change the a/c switch on top of the drier. my neighbor had me thinking that was the problem. and now the compressor won't take the charge. the clutch appears to be good. do you have any ideas. if not look like we'll be going to the dealer. and I'll be crying all the way there because I know it's gonna cost me a bit thanks for your help sir.

    Do you absolutely have to replace AC receiver drier?

    • @DIYtime
      @DIYtime  6 лет назад +1

      Yes, it should be replaced every time AC system is opened for service. It collects moisture trapped inside during repair and prevents from corrosion and eventual complete failure. Plus your may viod AC compressor warranty if you don't change it. They are not that expensive either.
