I agree that My Scene should have been rebooted as a playline similar to Always Bratz! The packaging is so basic but more of a reason to unbox them if you get them I guess lol
Honestly the Barbie Deluxe style dolls honestly look like they are a rebrand of Barbie Extra and im so here for it. Barbie extra wasnt everyones cup of tea so i was sad when it was cancelled but these new Deluxe style dolls will easily fill that void.
My gripe is if they’re gonna call them collector, and they’re gonna be the definitive myscene dolls we get how I feel like they should have been the most iconic form But I hope they sell well and we get more in the future
I am very excited for the release but I honestly prefer if they'll completely reboot the whole line as playline dolls because i personally think that it will make better sales compared to making them as signature lines
If this makes 2nd hand my scene go up istg 🥲 no idea if it'll be one and done but they can do better. Monster high has been improving so I'm not gonna discount it YET. But it's not the same that's for sure
Disney Princess in general is the second doll line I collect the most after Barbie I like the current Mattel line because is exactly what I expected, I love the new face sculpts This Ariel doll with pearly vanity is beautiful, I love the pearlescent pastel tones, the make up and the articulated legs with removable tail, she is one of my favorite princesses so I will definitely buy her I’m SO exited for Barbie Deluxe Style, the boxes are gorgeous, the best line we have since 2016, I don’t care if they will be pixelated, the outfits are great, definitely buy them all and I will buy the Millie twice to keep one in box as an iconic moment in Barbie history when Mattel allowed her to be feminine and glamour again I don’t care for the large Barbie dolls, I find them cheap, I prefer the 90s and early 2000s My Size Barbie dolls, those ones were gorgeous, harmonious proportions and soft elegant aesthetic with dreamy clothes About the new My Scene… I hate Mattel's current habit of selling playline quality from 20 years ago at outrageous collector prices I know that with inflation we can’t have the same quality of the 2000s at the same price we used to pay back in the day, 25 euros in 2004 are 40 euros now, but I wish Mattel would put more effort in playline

I was looking forward to the my scene dolls but the quality of their faces is disappointing. The colors of their face paint are flat and dull in comparison to the original. The eyes seem to have lost their spark and liveliness. The clothes look less well made than the originals. I really wanted these because the dolls are so expensive and even if you buy used ones, they usually come without clothes and the clothes are difficult to find and $$$. I'm holding out hope that they will look better in person than in the promo pictures. I really hope $40 is not the actual price. The original doll's price when adjusted for inflation is about $35. Those dolls came with a second outfit, better face screening, and beautiful box. If $40 is truly the price of these "collector" dolls then Mattel is shamelessly greedy. I'm worried if these sell badly Mattel will say there is no market for my scene and lock them in the vault forever. Instead of acknowledging that people didn't want to buy because of the diminished quality. I don't want to reward Mattel for their bad business practices. But I want my scene to come back . I'll wait to see what they look like in person. But if the quality is bad I won't buy. It's not worth having my scene back if they are a cheap imitation of their former selves.
I'm sad about the purse and the non metallic jewelry, but I'm buying the Signature doll. Her clothes are awesome 😎 and we are getting an Andra face and GiGi body.
It is probably just me, but it's odd because for myscene because the lack of accessories , imo. I'm talking about those miniature makeup and their phones. Yea we got doll stand, but uhh... yeah... could be better.

Personally I like having more variety in the types of Barbie dolls there are and I feel like you're weirdly upset about the variety? It's not like there aren't still plenty of dolls that aren't curvy and don't have prosthetic legs that you can get instead. And my idea of fantasy isn't everyone looking the same...boooring.

Yup, it's a Problem I generally have with all types of reboots, repros etc., never able to capture the magic of the OGs. ✨
