Glad she ended up getting it! I’ve found new boards always take a few sessions to figure out. I remember getting my seaside dripping from a 6’6 40L puddle jumper to a 6’0 45L after a couple of sessions it felt almost the same, then migrating to the glazer for better days dropping another 3L. I just got a MiniGhost dropping even more litres down to 37, I’ve only had one session on this board but paddle wise it’s great, and alit more manoeuvrable than anything else I’ve ridden. Once she’s got the seaside and beyond dialled she’s gonna love it!
Hey Brenton! You were doing the right steps, slowly moving down in size! Hope you dial the MiniGhost. I think she will have the same path like I had. getting addicted to the board )) It's just the beginning LOL Thanks for watching!
Hi, I'm considering 7'0 for relaxed surfing on beach break small waves, I'm 5'8 68kg intermediate beginner, do you think 7'0 is too long for me to place foot on right spot?
If you are not looking for a shortboard feel, may be I would consider something different with better glide to handle smaller waves and glide down the line. I love Lovelace ThickLizzy www.glidesurfco.com/surf/boards/7-4-lovemachine-surfboards-thick-lizzy-2
Buy it. You didn’t look unstable on the waves. This would be a great transition from a fun board to a short board. If you’re interested in riding shorter boards this is a good model for you.
It's always going to feel wobbly on the first session, but she did well regardless. Deffo a 6'8" over a 7'. Within a couple more sessions, it'll start feeling natural.
Thank you, David. She's currently in Mexico surfing point breaks but she didn't bring SSB with her. I totally agree. A few more sessions and the board will feel natural. I believe her 7'6" was super wide.. so the ABS/Muscles didn't get used to more narrow board. Thanks for watching!
Honestly I find that FireWires need to be ridden smaller. They feel like your trying to balance on a beach ball if you try to ride one with too much volume. 6’8” actually looked good and I would encourage even smaller for her size when possible.
@@SkipperSurfReview i know what you mean. that is me and the mashup right now. Killing any future videos. haha Although my air progression is coming along. I think I get about 4 launch opportunities now in each session. that board squeezes so much speed. I am thinking about getting an album next though. btw, what was up with the pressures. Even for a PU that wasn't normal in my opinion.
@@ThomyeSurfs Glad you are pushing your air game :) Wish we had this consistency of the waves with a good face to practice. Which album you are considering to get? Sometimes I check LA craigslist and there are always some Album board on sale with a good price haha. I think my Disorder had a very light glassing on the deck. It does flex amazing though.. May be that's why I love it so much! You would probably love it too if you get in the right size. I know you are very specific with the dimensions )
I noticed a lot of covid beginners these days that don't know about towels or changing ponchos, like the guy in the background putting his suit on over a speedo.
Midlegnth fishes are meant for long peeling points or reefs. Those waves are too weak and sectiony for that board. Her 7'6 is fine when waves are that small. When waves are better she could drop down to a smaller egg. Stewart or takayama scorpion. Link for good midlength fish wave: ruclips.net/video/x_K1awz1jFA/видео.html
Well, this is a general idea but there are no rules for it! You can ride whatever you want as long as you have fun! This mid length is functional and I had lotsa fun making it to work in pretty much all conditions without the point break or reef. But I really wish we had those point breaks in the backyard. Thanks for sharing the link.
Special guest board reviews are a great idea lol. Love this channel, and I love your attitude. Nice to meet you this weekend. Aloha 🤙
Likewise, Ronald. More guests to come😁 Glad to share it! Thank you for the support!

Hello ! TY so much for your interesting video ! Do you know please what is the weight of the SS&B 6'8 ?
Hey David! I'm not really sure. I would say between 7-10 lbs.
I think you have a new guest star. Feature her surfing progress. Definitely the 6'8 and she was surfing well on it.
Thank you, Terence!
I would definitely buy it! Great episode!
Thank you, Anthony!
She surfs really well for a relative newb and after a few sessions she'll really dial that board in!
When you doin a bobby quad vs seaside comprison?
Not sure when I’ll get the bobby quad. Il have to get a custom one and wait for a few months🙈
@@SkipperSurfReview awesome!
Love your reviews and content! I have 7'0 SSB! Yew!

Windy day. Great review!
What is the weight and height of your friend?
She's 5'4" @106lbs.

She bought it and doesn't regret. Stoked! Thanks for watching, Craig!

She bought the right size! No need to go with the 7'0".

Thank you, Daniel for your input. I hope she will get it dialed soon!
6'8 for sure. If she started right before the pandemic lockdowns, her progression is really good. Congrats and fun video.
Thank you, Thomye! I hope this board will unlock more for her! Do you still have yours?
@@SkipperSurfReview oh yeah. I really like that board. that and it was also a 50th bday present from my brother. it's a lifer. :)
@@ThomyeSurfs That was a great present! If I kept it, I would just keep surfing SSB all the time. Got way too addicted to it!

haha.. yeah, changing ponchos are the best! I got used to it!
It was the right choice 😀
Madeline!!!
Good surfing for a beginner, looks like the 6.8 is OK.
Use your commission from Fred and take her out to dinner. There’s more to life than surfing!
Harbour Surfboards and Stewart Surfboards
I like Stewart especially their longboards!
I wonder who has a 7’ Seaside & Beyond. Hmmmm. 🤔
It went to North Carolina😁

but not for $100...haha.
