      @@MotoWrenchers Thank you! So far, I've had to go through the carburettors, and am waiting for a wider and slightly taller handlebar to arrive. Some of the Siebenrock kits have caught my attention. I like the idea of greater engine oil capacity, and the big bore kit-that will come later:) Did you get new tires/tyres mounted and balanced? If so, what size? Thank you, and best regards!

    • @MotoWrenchers
      @MotoWrenchers  2 года назад

      Thanks for the update. The big bore conversion sounds amazing. I don't know if you already have considered it but a nice little upgrade that isn't too expensive and would go very well with the increased power are progressive fork springs. I haven't installed my but I've heard from multiple people that they are a game changer.
      Regarding tires, I went with Heidenau K60. Here are the sizes:
      130/80/18 S & 100/90/19 S
      Unfortunately, 130 is the widest that fits in the back (I would have liked a slightly wider tire).
      Are you also thinking about changing the looks of the bike?
      Keep me updated regarding your progress if you like :)

    Great video, I am very excited about your project. The brake cleaner suggestion is a very good one for installing rubber grips.
    Figuring out solutions and using new techniques is one of the most exciting aspects of any project for me.
    Stepped drill are one possible solution to the drill chuck capacity issue . The drill shanks are smaller than the drill bit size. Silver and deming drill bits can be very helpful.
    Keep up the great work, I eagerly await your next video!

      Hi Mark! Thank you so much for your feedback. Really makes my day hearing something like that and the stepped drills are the ones I'll go for in the future. • @portergieske

    It is at these points in the project that you have to make everything a custom fit. You could have created an adapter hollow cylinder that would have fit into the bar ends, and then becomes 13.5 mm ID on the outside of the bars to hold the turn indicator. Also, for the loose button switch, you can put an aluminum strap around the bare bars to increase its diameter, then screw down the button switch to hide it. Custom outer cable lengths need to be cut, and inner cables need to have the barrel ends soldered on to be the proper length and fit to each end. Measure twice. Good luck.

    • @MotoWrenchers
      @MotoWrenchers  3 года назад

      Hi Porter! Thanks for your tips. The adapter is a nice idea. I'm not yet at the point where I have mechanical creativity (I would call it). But constantly working on it...and really appreciating your tips. :) Regarding the loose button switch, I've called them and they said I might have to turn one of the two pieces because they are not 100% identical. Then it should work. Need to check that. Otherwise I'll try your solution. And I'll make sure to measure twice! I'm looking forward to that. I've just ordered kits from Vanhill. Thanks again bro!

    I really like the northern German landscape.... nice intro! 🫠
    And having some Punks like Andi around the corner is definitely a plus..... although when he plays with brake cleaner, things can escalate...😎🤣
    Dear Joshua, forgive me for asking a stupid question: is it seriously motogadget's intention to drill out the handlebars for these extremely stylish indicators? 🤔.....

    • @MotoWrenchers
      @MotoWrenchers  7 месяцев назад +1

      Northern Germany definitely has it's pros and cons. At the moment (late spring) it is beautiful. The rain from the side is something I could have a little bit less of hahaha :D
      Andi is a unique character that often comes up with explosive ideas. Great to have him living just around the corner. I've learned a lot from him already.
      Regarding the handlebars' ID...no, that was my mistake. I can't imagine that that is the right way to do it. You are supposed to use handlebars made of steel. Then the indicators and the mo.button fit. At some point I ordered a new one.
      Already after the first project, my parts collection is growing...which I very much like.
      At some point I'd like to have a spare parts collection like Andi. He can probably build not just one but multiple custom bikes just from his parts collection :D

      Nice! How do you like the USD set up? Yeah, wiring will also be one of the next steps. • @MotoWrenchers

      Until now I just drilled one hole in the front. I think it will be possible to run the backside cables through the same hole. I'll need to check whether it will be big enough. I'll definitely make a video about that.

    Sehr gut, sieht gut aus, und nur das edle Zeug verbaut ;-) Ist die Lenkerklemme noch Serie? Mit den Tools geht mir genauso, aber ich denke, wenn man bzgl. schrauben mal Blut geleckt hat, werden die Tools auch in der Zukunft noch hilfreich sein. Hattest du in einem anderen Video schon erwähnt, welchen Lenker genau du da verbaut hast ?

    • @MotoWrenchers
      @MotoWrenchers  3 года назад +1

      Moin! Vielen Dank für drin Feedback 🙏 Die Lenkerklemmen waren auf jeden Fall von Anfang an am Bike. Ich glaube, dass die original sind aber ich kann's aus'm Kopf nicht garantieren.
      Der Lenker ist dieser hier:
      www.sport-evolution.de/bmw-boxer-spezial/bmw-fahrwerk/BMW-Zweiventiler-Gabelbruecken/BMW-R45-R65-R80-R100-Lenker.html?language=de
      von Sports Evolution.
      Die Tools werden sicher noch häufiger zum Einsatz kommen. Es soll ja nicht das letzte Bike sein ;)
      An was schraubst du zur Zeit oder was war dein letztes Projekt?

    • @Juma-fw4jn
      @Juma-fw4jn 3 года назад +1

      @@MotoWrenchers vielen Dank, ich denke, den Lenker werde ich mir auch bestellen, der sieht von der Breite und Kröpfung aus, als könnte das Bike damit gut zu fahren sein. Ich habe mir ne cx500 zum Caferacer aufgebaut, damit bin ich jetzt bis auf TÜV fertig. Und da hab ich noch Bammel, weil ich wie du gerne alles selbst probiere, und so auch den Heckrahmen selbst gekürzt und geschweißt hab. Für den nächsten Winter hab ich mir ne r65 Bj87 Monolever zum umbauen geholt, bis dahin fahr ich mit der und schauen dir zu und sammle Inspirationen:) D.h. es kann sein, dass ich noch öfters bei Teil xyz genauer nachfrage, woher du das hast :) mach weiter so, schaue dir gerne zu 👍

    • @MotoWrenchers
      @MotoWrenchers  3 года назад

      Ja, ich finde den Lenker auch sehr gut (ohne, dass ich ihn schon gefahren wäre). Mich hat am Wochenende ein Freund angerufen und meinte, dass der Innendurchmesser Probleme machen könnte beim Kabelverlegen. Ich habe dann direkt nach Alternativen mit gleichen Maßen aber größeren Innendurchmesser gesucht aber nicht wirklich was gefunden. Allerdings gibt es bei Louis welche, die ähnliche Maße haben (auch zum ähnlichen Preis) aber schon von Werk aus an den Enden auf 14mm aufgebohrt sind und auch so die ABE haben. Das könnte vielleicht interessant für dich sein. Wenn du willst, kann ich dir meine Teileliste per Mail schicken. Vielleicht hilft dir das :)
      Schreib mir gerne einfach ne Mail an motowrenchers.blog@gmail.com
      Wenn du das mit dem Lenker kurz erwähnst, dann packe ich dir auch die Links zu den Alternativen noch rein :)
      Ich finde es übrigens richtig nice, dass du dir auch alles selbst beibringst und einfach alles selbst ausprobierst. Ich drücke dir die Daumen für den TÜV! Wie hat das mit dem Schweißen beindir geklappt? Musstest du viel üben?
      Schöne Grüße und sorry für die verspätete Antwort - Joshua :)
