Didn't realize cleanliness was so critical. Also didn't know def crystalized as it does. That's what happens when your away from it for so long.

Would have loved to see the diag on this one. Any time you crack out the IDS on one of the Super Duty 6.7s and have the time to shoot it,I'd love to see it. Even if it's BCM B.S. LOL.

You might want to check your vein and mileage because there is extended coverage for that component

@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARodwhen they do this under 21MO1 the CSP states “replace the reductant heater and sender assembly” am I understanding correctly that to be reductant heater and sender (being the pump)? Or does this not include the pump??
Like how it’s got indefinite repairs for these DTC’s within the 11 years / 120k miles from warranty start date too. That’s kinda good after having to go through the R&I process.

Hello ol wise one! Started doing 2011 6.7 this late this afternoon, covered in cow poop and mud. Might send a pic. If you look hard on top of the new heater "top" you will see an arrow stamped into the black plastic. On the def tank there are 2 line marks molded into the tank top. If you line the arrow up in the middle of the two line marks, your pump will be pointing factory perfect. Take a look at your next def/pump replacement mission in the future and you'll see what I'm talking about. I think you stole my air blower... I got the same one! Happy Easter man!

I agree. I've done my share of these tank heater/senders. What was the DTC? P20BA? I have to admit there's very little range of acceptable for that part. What is it, 1 to 2.5 ohms? I just finished a line heater on a '13 Cab and Chassis yesterday for P20BD and P20BE. The line heater range is 3 to 5 ohms, and every single one I've installed ohm'd new out-of-box has been exactly 4.5 ohms. By they way, your question at 15:00 about which recall was out in the 2000s, was it 03N01 by any chance? I believe that was the recall where a revised fuel pump/sender was installed using the "toenail clipper" to cut out the inside of the tank prior to installation of the revised pump.

I wouldn't worry quite so much about racing against the clock once the Def tank is open. Quite a bit of water has got to evaporate out of the solution before the urea will begin to crystallize. Unless the tank is almost completely empty that's not going to happen in a few minutes.

Should be an arrow on the top of your sender molded into it, and marks on your tank for the arrow. Looks like chevy parts, tank is a little different but looks exactly the same. Do you have a recall for the heaters too? Neet seeing how others do these. Rather than spending five minutes going to the special tool room, we use a prybar laid across the top, it cataches between two ribs of the lock ring and you push down and twist the prybar. Really quick and nobody has ever broken one. I also noticed that we don't prime the pump. Interesting.

N ice work as usual. You and me the same, everytime I have any parts that come with plugs or caps, I always keep them, have a huge jar full of them cause they are so nice to have to plug and cap stuff off then you dont have a lot of mess to clean up, nothing worse than puddles and drips everywhere. I hadn't seen a cheap tool to get the hold down ring off Now that I see OTC has one I will have to nab one, I was using a c-clamp to spin them off.
You need to add some jeopardy music when your doing the next time constraint part of the video... you know, no pressure...lol
