    Again, no mention of carbon core, suspension components or setup, etc. The journalist needs to be the one citing the interior, design, place in segment, and price. The racing driver needs to be the one talking about engine, gearbox [not mentioned at all] differentials, suspension, etc. I get these episodes are only 10 minutes, but please remove half the glitzy track b-roll and replace with useful information

      Why list info you can easily search up on Google? The worst part about this show is spewing specs instead of talking about things only their hands on driving experience and understanding of the car can give. It just sounds like a bad car salesman pitch.

    The biggest problem is the lack of TT V12, especially when we *KNOW* the //M division already developed one for the 7-series! The 8 series is supposed to be the pinnacle of BMW, a top trim 7-series in sporting coupe form. This is just a slightly bigger, more expensive M6.

      I disagree. I’ve had my M8C for a year now and it beats super cars off the line, goes to Costco just fine as well. Handles and drifts like a beauty. I can’t imagine a better GT car honestly. My nit picks are the lack of engine volume and the styling as said could be about 70% more agressive

      I mean i cant see this car starting under 100k either, not going to happen. The interior comes standard with a lot to start under 90k. For a car thats capable of 60 in 2.5 seconds by car and driver and quarter mile of 10.7 seconds which 0.1 sec slower than a 200k audi r8 and lambo, which the m8 comes with more tech and luxury i think its not too far off. The m8 is overpriced but is it extremely over priced like an i8? I dont think so. The car is underrated, the video talks about irrelevant crap that no ones going to do, tracking it seriously isnt going to happen even if it was doing 6:50 at the green hell. The M8 is proper fast, to most eyes a really beautiful car, has real carbon fiber inside and out, real materials, real wood, like nothing on this car was cheap or in after thought, comes with premium audio, the underside of the car has incredible engineering for what it is. This car is set to be a real machine, the cooling system and the multi personality nature this car has is not worthy of anything below 100k, no car i mean no car under 100k can do 60 as fast or the quarter mile in comfort like this car can and offer a gorgeous premium paint job. Go search a car up your just not. I would see this car starting minimum at 120k, anything below that is ridiculous any just finding reasons to bash on price. Only someone without money for a car like this would claim its worth below that. Dont even claim theyre junk in a few years these s63 v8s are pretty reliable ive heard almost 200k miles out of them, original s63 has rod bearing issues after 100k miles, cooling issues after 90k and thats really the major issues everything else was sensor related, i dont even think ive heard too many oil leak issues. Now were in the s63 TU which means improved reliability, s63 has been out for 12 years now i dont think theres any issues anymore with these v8s so your getting fast, tech, luxury and reliability out of this car.

      The M8 uses different components more performance oriented parts most of that money went into the handling of that car. The car also a different chassis than the M5, the M8 uses a unique chassis shorter than 5 and 7 series and depending on options also lighter than M5, Better bracing, stiffer suspension, comes standard with more options, wheels are more complex to make than the simpler M5s. I think stiffer engine mounts as well, a slightly different trans mapping. This car isn’t how it use to be back then BMW had the 5 and 6 share chassis and similar components the M5 and M8 only share engine trans, steering wheel and I think same front seats

      @@aidenp5768 the problem is when one can't identify a car - is it a 8-series, 2-series or 4-series?! As a comparison, take the E63 model, you knew what it was when you saw one cause it was so different than everything else in the lineup. And they want how much money for the M8?!?! Something doesn't add up when you have to justify the price. And yes, it does share the same platform(production wise) with the 5 series.

      Personally im a car guy and a huge bmw guy like I know from any angle what bmw it is, so I don’t understand the perspective of other people but when I see an M8 i see an M8 period, I know what’s an m850 vs M8 from far away, now when people say 2 series vs 4 vs 8 now I really don’t understand I can’t see how even others can’t tell, I can tell usually from the size and curves and definitely by wheel options. I don’t work at a dealer I just know my BMWs really well. The identity crisis doesn’t exist in bmw guys world, maybe someone who’s not familiar with cars like that. The cars soul is unique from any bmw in the lineup that’s for sure when you drive it or even consumers review, there summary on driving experience is much different to a 7 or 6 a 5 or a 4 or any M version of the cars mentioned.

Now that I’ve watched the video, I obviously haven’t driven the car so I can’t contest the claims about the handling and noise and stuff, but I definitely disagree about the styling of the car. The grill IS big, at least big enough, and I think that it nails the quintessential “Big sporty BMW” design. It’s wide and mean, but well-proportioned enough that you can still arrive at a formal event without looking outrageous. Maybe the fenders could use some beefing up for the Competition version, but that’s it. I mean, do you really want a grill like on the new M3/M4 on this car? It would be ruined.

      A C8 corvette has also done a sub 3 second 0-60 LOL haha so what’s your point? That a bmw is overpriced and a 60k Chevy sports that cost 3x less is just as quick and sounds better LOL I’m sorry but I don’t understand your point

    • @lordmaster5522
      @lordmaster5522 3 года назад

      @@dnice362 You can’t compare a Chevy to a BMW like I did to the GT3.
      •First of all, both the BMW and GT3 are premium German luxury brands. The Chevy is not premium, maybe if they badge it as a Cadillac.
      •Second, the C8 doesn’t even have as much power as the GT3, let alone the M8. The Corvette is in the 400hp club, the GT3 is in the 500hp club, and the M8 is in the 600hp club. Very different level you see?
      •Both the C8 & M8 have V8. However, the C8 doesn’t have twin turbo and also no X-Drive.
      •And this M8 have many options to bring the price to $175K. If you check the options boxes for the C8, it will no longer be anywhere close to $60K.
      Now do you understand my points?

    • @dnice362
      @dnice362 3 года назад

      How does it not compare LOL? It compares and way less of a cost. Number 1 and number 2 you cannot compare a bmw to a Porsche it’s like comparing a Chevy to a bmw LOL. Third that’s my point the M8 has no business being even close to that price. Also sports the first thing I’m looking for is sounds and that overpriced bmw has no sound. The Porsche screams and will sound waaay better. The vette also sounds way better. I’m talking about price. For the price, it has no business being that expensive. Watch the video it sounds like you didn’t they don’t agree with price either. I don’t bimmers except the M2 outside of that all are way overpriced. I don’t mind the M8 but it’s to expensive. Also to more of my point go to RUclips and watch the motortrend comparison between the M4 and camaro ss 1LE then let’s also continue this conversation

    • @lordmaster5522
      @lordmaster5522 3 года назад

      @@dnice362 I guess you still don’t get it. The reason is because you can’t compare an average Joe’s Chevy that’s built by Chuck in Kentucky to two of German’s finest and precision driving machines.
      And to your point, there is NO WAY a 6-cylinder GT3 will sound as good as an 8-cylinder engine. And the C8’s V8 will not sound as good as M8’s high revving V8 since the redline is very low for the push rod engine.
