Totally spot on in saying "you don't need more than 480 hp".
In these day an age we expect to see huge numbers constantly or else it's "slow", but my daily is a sedan with 'only' 300 hp and truthfully I don't see a need for much more in city or highway traffic at all.

As much as I want the Taycan Turbo, realistically speaking, the 4S with the Performance Battery Plus is much more realistic. It can still do 0-60 in as little as 3.4 seconds.

oh look an EV that has gauges and numbers behind the steering wheel like a proper driver's car. But I guess Tesla wants to sell you the autonomous driving so you really won't drive anymore at some point. I can see there is a market for that. But for me, I still want to enjoy driving for years to come even on long road trips.

yup, thats exactly right about Tesla for sure. Wish they also made packages that were more driver centric, but I think as an enthusiast that also wants to go electric I'll be waiting for the Taycan-style EV tech to trickle down to something like a hot hatch.

You'd think that by now this question is pointless. If Porsche thinks it's a Porsche. Why do people keep asking if it is. In any case.. What even is a "real" Porsche? If the definition is 911 badging and an engine in the back. Then no. If a definition is Porsche deciding putting a new car on the road, and putting a badge on it. YES! Yes it is a real Porsche! Electrify America was seeded with $2BN from Volkswagen as part of their penance for Dieselgate. The question now is whether the widespread customer dissatisfaction with EA was due to VW not putting their heart into the project, which seems insane given their product roadmap even back then, or VW just screwing up the infrastructure side of the EV business with typical German auto company hubris. Perhaps this is a moot point with Tesla opening up Superchargers to other EVs but it bears watching the infrastructure side as we perhaps see Tesla pivot to a services company in addition to a product company longer term.

    Garbage
    1. EVs don't go where I want to go when I want to get there. 20-40 minutes to charge to 80% at select locations? I can fill up 100% in under 5 minutes anywhere.
    2. EVs cannot be easily rescued. Someone can bring me a gallon of gas if I run out on the side of the road. I can also carry an extra gallon in the trunk.
    3. EVs weigh tons more and will cause more infrastructure damage to roads and bridges.
    4. EV accidents create catastrophic fires from their batteries that can be incredibly hard to fight by fire departments, making them a death trap. These fires consume thousands of gallons more drinking water to put out.
    5. EV batteries lose their ability to store a full charge over time and will dramatically decrease their range the longer you have the EV.
