My late uncle's best friend was Eleanor Audley who was the voice of Maleficent and Lady Tremaine. When I was a young teen, I did a drawing of Lady Tremaine for her and she sent me an autographed photo that was taken of her when she was dressed in the costume and being filmed for the animator's reference. It's one of several Disney artifacts in my possession that I treasure.
Maleficent was my idol when I was a little girl. All my friends wanted to play the princess and I lived to play Maleficent 🖤🖤

Honestly, I think it's great - it's such a cool reinterpretation of the story, and the blending of 2D and 3D animation feels like the perfect choice for the film. But unfortunately, it was also incredibly expensive and didn't even come close to making that money back, so it was definitely a flop in that sense. I feel like that leads some people to remember it as an actual bad movie when it really isn't!

So Matteo is 100% CORRECT about those long, slow sequences from the older animated movies. The ones in which you got to really appreciate hand-drawn animation. I think of the bubbles sequence from Cinderella, when she's singing that da-da-da-da, so this is love, kinda song. That was BEAUTIFUL! And i feel like if you tried to make a child of this current age sit through that, they'd be bored, or completely fail to see the magic they were looking at. He's totally right.

What is Coco about? Had to take a break from Disney for awhile but now have an almost 4 year old who is getting into Disney. All I know is that it's about a Spanish tradition like Day of the Dead right? I could be very wrong lol but either way he needs to learn different cultures❤

1000% agreed about Sleeping Beauty. The movie is an absolute MASTERPIECE! It’s incredible that it was the second highest grossing movie of that year besides Ben Hur, and it still lost Disney money. Being the last ink-&-paint animated Disney film, you can definitely tell a quality difference between that and 101 Dalmatians, the next Disney animated film. The art direction, music, voice cast, writing, all flawless.

I love the review of going down memory lane of Disney movies. I am definitely not the biggest fan of these live action remakes, but my favorite adaptation of a Disney movie is Cinderella, Everafter with Drew Barrymore and Roger and Hammerstein version of Cinderella. My favorite Disney movies are Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and The Beast.
Well zippity--do-dah! Anyone remember SONG OF THE SOUTH? Disney would rather forget that one! Everyone knows that PINOCCHIO is the greatest animated Disney film of all time. Everything else pales before it. "When You Wish Upon a Star" is almost as iconic as "OVER THE RAINBOW" in the Hollywood songbook. Can we move on from Disney and start discussing our favorite John Waters movies next time? There would still be enough songs for Matteo to belt out. I'd love to hear his rendition of "The Girl Can't Help It" or "Hairspray".
