exactly!!! Best example is Hayao Myjazaki. His movies are so beautiful with all the slow moments where one just gets to be. I think that older Disney Movies were so much more enjoyable. But I guess most of us always like the movies from our childhood more than newer stuff :-)
My late uncle's best friend was Eleanor Audley who was the voice of Maleficent and Lady Tremaine. When I was a young teen, I did a drawing of Lady Tremaine for her and she sent me an autographed photo that was taken of her when she was dressed in the costume and being filmed for the animator's reference. It's one of several Disney artifacts in my possession that I treasure.
So Matteo is 100% CORRECT about those long, slow sequences from the older animated movies. The ones in which you got to really appreciate hand-drawn animation. I think of the bubbles sequence from Cinderella, when she's singing that da-da-da-da, so this is love, kinda song. That was BEAUTIFUL! And i feel like if you tried to make a child of this current age sit through that, they'd be bored, or completely fail to see the magic they were looking at. He's totally right.
OK now I need an entire video of Disney and Broadway biggest hits as sung by Matteo. With Nick commenting from a balcony seat like Statler and Waldorf.
Honestly, I think it's great - it's such a cool reinterpretation of the story, and the blending of 2D and 3D animation feels like the perfect choice for the film. But unfortunately, it was also incredibly expensive and didn't even come close to making that money back, so it was definitely a flop in that sense. I feel like that leads some people to remember it as an actual bad movie when it really isn't!
There is an argument to be made that Treasure Planet was a good film that was not properly marketed ruclips.net/video/b9sycdSkngA/видео.htmlsi=spuu3Vc9TiR5ynh_
I wish this were the 1.5 hour podcast because WOW I love you two together. Also, everyone always says Nick sounds like Squidward, which he does. But the things he says are much more Roger from American Dad which he also sounds like hahah
1000% agreed about Sleeping Beauty. The movie is an absolute MASTERPIECE! It’s incredible that it was the second highest grossing movie of that year besides Ben Hur, and it still lost Disney money. Being the last ink-&-paint animated Disney film, you can definitely tell a quality difference between that and 101 Dalmatians, the next Disney animated film. The art direction, music, voice cast, writing, all flawless.
"Imma fill that bastard up" Best line I've heard in a long time. I'm stealing it and using it whenever I want. Doesn't even need to make sense. I look forward to confusing people.
The way I gasped when Nick placed Mulan and Hercules as one and two because I've been advocating for that exact order for many years to much opposition - thank you ☺
What is Coco about? Had to take a break from Disney for awhile but now have an almost 4 year old who is getting into Disney. All I know is that it's about a Spanish tradition like Day of the Dead right? I could be very wrong lol but either way he needs to learn different cultures❤
Nick Smith reminds me of my flight commander when i was active duty. Best officer I ever worked for. Had the exact same sass and vibe. Loved that dude.
My favorite Disney animation style forever points to 101 Dalmatians and Sleeping Beauty, the unparalleled elegance and movement of hand drawings, just divine
Princess and the frog is a sleeper HIT and nobody gives it enough love. The music is phenomenal. The villain is the best villain since Jafar, it's GREAT.
90s kids had the Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast. I’m afraid I’m _much_ older, boys. My first Disney movie in a theatre (which was the only way to see them back then) was Bambi … with dozens of other children also crying inconsolably and registering their first core traumas. Yes, Disney has _changed._
I'm horribly dating myself but the first three movies I saw were The Sound of Music, Bambi and 2001: A Space Odyssey, which really explains a lot about how demented I am.
Aerial,Cinderella, and Bambi were my favs as a kid. Still to this day if I get sick and have to be in bed for the day I’ll put on Bambi and feel nostalgic and cozy.
The way I have watched this episode so many times and honestly here we go again. I live when Matteo sings and thank you for always knowing the illustrators/performers etc. No one spoke about Brave though and thats jail.
I love the Pod so much because Matteo has the tendency of being obnoxious and I love how Nick can take him down a peg sometimes. It truly is a SpongeBob and Squidward dynamic.
OMIGOD!!! So many voice impressions, Matteo's best one without a doubt was Snow White! Not only did he capture the tone of her voice, but he also captured the scratchy noise that old film made!! It's kind of hilarious he (understandably) hates the character, yet he still graced us a great impersonation!
Omg Matteo...Sleeping Beauty is mine too. It was my mom's favorite too. I'm 47, and my mom died young at 53 from cancer. I just watched it this past weekend, I love everything about it. Especially the woodsy scenery. Please take me there! ❤ I need a cottage in the Glen.
Omg matteo is so good at singing! I kmew that but im constantly impressed. The country, disney songs. I listen to go the distance bc i love it. We need a cpver!
I love the review of going down memory lane of Disney movies. I am definitely not the biggest fan of these live action remakes, but my favorite adaptation of a Disney movie is Cinderella, Everafter with Drew Barrymore and Roger and Hammerstein version of Cinderella. My favorite Disney movies are Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and The Beast.
Matteo please consider making a whole video of yourself singing one of these songs. Your voice is so melodic! The way you started to sing that Hercules song gave me goosebumps 😁.
As someone who got ready for work this morning in front of a glass cupboard, with interior lights, filled with Sleeping Beauty merchandise, I can safely say that my wife and Matteo would get on famously. Also, his falsetto is on point!
Love this episode!! I’m the same age as Matteo so I’m very nostalgic for older Disney movies, man these new age ones are something else! Matteo you are so talented!! Nick, your expressions are priceless, I can’t even! Love the blouse you are rockin!!
That snowwhite impression just murdered me. Dead. And Nick would be Ariel EVEN IF ONLY because of the massively huge knowledge gaps. Nick could easily call a fork a dinglehopper and we would BE THERE FOR IT. Tricked by a witch? Not even a headline 😂 no matter what. Nick is still perfection.
Nick’s face while Matteo sings is a whole mood
😂😂 are you done?
💀 💀
His faces are my essence. It’s how I feel all the time when I’m awake. With or without other people there
Nick reminds me of C3PO sometimes.
It's funnier that Nick can also sing but refuses to 😂
matteo uses every episode to find an excuse to sing and nick has BEEN over it
Jesus loves you ❤️
Like an honourable Disney character
@@thandoxginindza if only his love could save him from a handful of romans, two wooden planks and a couple of nails
He had to know what he was getting into with this topic 😂
I love his voice so I don't mind 😂
Matteo “Hey guys, today were going to be talking about Disney movies” then instantly asks Nick “Whats your favorite country artist” 😂
It wasnt Matteo going off topic-was Matteo riffing off of Nick's singing "Jesus Take the Wheel"- a country song.
I saw the title and ALREADY 👏 KNEW 👏 THE VIBE.
Matteo: Broadway singing
Nick: over his singing
Matteo is the literal Kristen Wiig SNL character "don't make me sing"
Oh my god it's so true
But he can sing...sooo. yeah
The point that Matteo made about long slow moments in kids movies was perfect
Exactly!
And also backed by science.
YES!
exactly!!! Best example is Hayao Myjazaki. His movies are so beautiful with all the slow moments where one just gets to be. I think that older Disney Movies were so much more enjoyable. But I guess most of us always like the movies from our childhood more than newer stuff :-)
@@GwenCobainmy god those moments in Miyazaki films are so damn beautiful

Maleficent was my idol when I was a little girl. All my friends wanted to play the princess and I lived to play Maleficent 🖤🖤
So Matteo is 100% CORRECT about those long, slow sequences from the older animated movies. The ones in which you got to really appreciate hand-drawn animation. How dare you, Matteo! The Aristocats is amazing! One of my favorites!
❤Everybody wants to be a cat 🐈
This video should be titled “Nick being done with Matteo for 15 minutes gay” 😂
- Who killed him?
- You know, Nick? Warners Brothers.
- He died during Jungle Book?
- Buggs Bunny did.
I can't even with these two. 😆😆😆
My favorite part of this episode. 😂
OK now I need an entire video of Disney and Broadway biggest hits as sung by Matteo.
With Nick commenting from a balcony seat like Statler and Waldorf.
Matteo’s slaying with that completely accurate Snow White adaptation
Vibrato is not a style lolol
Matteo - bursts into song, Nick - stares blankly into camera XD XD love u guys
Hunchback of Notre Dame has and EXCELLENT sound track
When Frollo sings about being a virgin in love with Esmeralda lmao
God help the outcasts is a great song too.
Omg so beautiful
It’s so much more sinister than that because it is Frollo lusting after Esmerelda but then blaming her for his sexual desires. It’s horrible
I always thought that the gargoyles were only in Quasi's head
Bells of Notra Dame gives me chills every time. That high note at the end!!!
Matteo's Liza "It was my father.." about how mermaids are made.. 💀
Loved Mateo saying that also. 🎉
"90s kids had the BEST Disney experience." Truer words were never spoken ❤
the way my jaw DROPPED when matteo said treasure planet was a flop
Honestly, I think it's great - it's such a cool reinterpretation of the story, and the blending of 2D and 3D animation feels like the perfect choice for the film. There is an argument to be made that Treasure Planet was a good film that was not properly marketed ruclips.net/video/b9sycdSkngA/видео.htmlsi=spuu3Vc9TiR5ynh_
and then followed up with "Pocahontas was a bad movie"
I love Nick's exasperation with Matteo and the impromptu musical performance
Alice in Wonderland and the original Fantasia are my favorites
I think people forget about Fantasia. I love it.
I wish this were the 1.5 hour podcast because WOW I love you two together.
Also, everyone always says Nick sounds like Squidward, which he does. But the things he says are much more Roger from American Dad which he also sounds like hahah
Omg! Yes! Finally someone has said it 😂
I really need this now. Like, Kaio could animate these 🤣
Pocahontas is a mood and aristocats is a banger. Plus treasure planet is alright. Matteo has never been so wrong
I’ve never disagreed with something he’s said until now lol
Seriously, I am feeling like a foe rn I'm so angry
Treasure planet is great!
Pocahontas was so good! And I hate cats but Aristocrats is so so good!! I do think the dogs in that movie stole the show for me
Aristocats and Treasure Planet are two of my top favs. He's so wrong.
3:08 I love that Matteo is a Disney history nerd like me!! How did they not talk about Ursula during this whole episode?! 😠
Seriously though she's my favorite villain.
The black Cauldron and The Aristocats are my favorite Disney cartoons!……😂😂😂
7:50 that sudden Liza sneak got me together
Who facked a fish? “It was my father” 💀💀💀
So funny!
I love it when she appears!!
"It was my father."🤣🤣🤣

“My voice always says you need to leave”. 😂😂😂
Am I the only one that can't unlisten Nick as Squidward thanks to Matteo's stand up?😅
Completely
No, you are not. 😂❤
"there's a key change at the bridge" 🤣. Yes there is!
Timeline of Disney songs sung by Matteo Lane. Love it 😂❤
"Imma fill that bastard up" Best line I've heard in a long time. I'm stealing it and using it whenever I want. Doesn't even need to make sense. I look forward to confusing people.
The way I gasped when Nick placed Mulan and Hercules as one and two because I've been advocating for that exact order for many years to much opposition - thank you ☺
I'm Glad you mentionned "Coco" at the end because its one of my Fav and yes I cried at the end. Keep up the good work, we love you guys ❤
What is Coco about? Had to take a break from Disney for awhile but now have an almost 4 year old who is getting into Disney. All I know is that it's about a Spanish tradition like Day of the Dead right? I could be very wrong lol but either way he needs to learn different cultures❤
Im obsessed with this podcast. This episode hit home. I love doing disney songs and my friends drag me for it😂
6:33 Matteo doing the snowhite impression sounds just like Bjork 🤣
Nick had me at “my voices always says you need to leave.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nick's face when Matteo sings is priceless.
Matteo constantly going from character to character is killing me 😂 "TaLe As OlD aS tImE"😅😅
So the trick to keep you guys on topic for 15 whole minutes is Disney lol. There was such intent engagement by both of you, amazing 😂❤
“No I wanna be a princess” - Gurl. Same.
CAN we have like a 20min podcast because theyre soooooo good everytime!
The lack of princess of the frog being mentioned is wild 😂
Nick Smith reminds me of my flight commander when i was active duty. Best officer I ever worked for. Had the exact same sass and vibe. Loved that dude.
Matteo singing my favorite song from Mulan is AMAZING!
Your Mrs Teapot impersonation is the best British impersonation by an American I've ever heard 😂 absolutely killed me
Ok but matteo is such a Disney prince singer! His voice is Perfect for it
Treasure Planet is highly underrated. It’s amazing.
right?! I loved Treasure Planet!!
It's amazing! It's gorgeous
Agreed. And talk about an amazing cast!
Treasure Planet is one of my favorite Disney movies!
My favorite Disney animation style forever points to 101 Dalmatians and Sleeping Beauty, the unparalleled elegance and movement of hand drawings, just divine

I love how Liza always shows up in the podcast, even if just for the briefest of moments. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Matteo was hyped up during this episode. 😂. “ARE YOU DONE?”
Lol but he so wasn’t. Nick was the impatient babysitter
Matteo saying he hated Treasure Planet broke my heart. And then saying he hated Encanto…I’m so upset 😭
Nick’s look at the camera when Matteo sings too long for his liking.
😂😂😂
Me queuing this up, "How much is Matteo about to sing through this . . ." Not disappointed, lol.
Okay Matteo sounded so much like Brad Paisley when he pretended to be a country singer. 😂
That's who it is! I was trying to figure out who Matteo sounded like, and it's definitely Brad Paisley.😂
This episode is about Disney animated films.
*timer starts*
Matteo: "So, who's your favorite country singer?"
Aerial,Cinderella, and Bambi were my favs as a kid. Still to this day if I get sick and have to be in bed for the day I’ll put on Bambi and feel nostalgic and cozy.
I LOVE when you sing Matteo. You have such a beautiful voice! The fact that it pisses Nick off...*chef's kiss* 😂 Love you both!
It really just kicks it up a notch that Nick is SO Over It doesn't it🤣🤣🤣
I love Encanto. I've watched it several times. Also I love how done Nick was with all the singing. 😅
The way I have watched this episode so many times and honestly here we go again. I live when Matteo sings and thank you for always knowing the illustrators/performers etc. No one spoke about Brave though and thats jail.
I'm here for Matteo whatever he wants to do, sing, stand up or cooking ❤
Patiently waiting for someone to acknowledge the absolute GEM that the Tarzan soundtrack was.
Also we need a part 2 please, this was amazing
Meg is such a good choice, love her sassiness❤
Treasure Planet is a FANTASTIC movie! I now question your Disney experience!😂😂😂
I love the Pod so much because Matteo has the tendency of being obnoxious and I love how Nick can take him down a peg sometimes. It truly is a SpongeBob and Squidward dynamic.
I love when Matteo sings and I love how Nick gets so annoyed, it’s EXTRA lol
Matteo I love your serious answers about art and music and pacing in these movies! I know eps are only 15 min but I could listen for hours

Matteo is giving Cher from the Cher Show doing West Side Story. "I will be playing all the parts. Thank you."
More Matteo doing impressions and singing!! (Saw you at the Mtl show, it was a much needed hilarious night!❤)
I didn’t want this one to end! The balance in this friendship ❤ 😂
The black cauldron is amazing!!!
Mateo singing voice - I never liked you, please we need that episode
1:47 The way that snap was ready without any hesitation
The one time they stay on topic. I don't know what's worse, two grown men discussing Disney movies or the fact that I'm here for it in every way
🎶 Singing along with Matteo as I cut cabbage in my kitchen 🤣🙌
Omg matteo is so good at singing! I kmew that but im constantly impressed. The country, disney songs. I listen to go the distance bc i love it. We need a cpver!

101 Dalmatians remake was amazing with Glenn Close!! AMAZING
I also liked Brandy and Whitney Houston in Cinderella
The Black Cauldron is UNDERRATED.
Matteo's impressions and singing are everything to me
I need 15 minutes of Matteo and Nick singing their conversation!
As someone who got ready for work this morning in front of a glass cupboard, with interior lights, filled with Sleeping Beauty merchandise, I can safely say that my wife and Matteo would get on famously. Also, his falsetto is on point!
Rocked the blouse Nick! Mateo? How could you not love Chip? He was adorable. 😊 Please keep these coming! ❤❤
Love this episode!! I’m the same age as Matteo so I’m very nostalgic for older Disney movies, man these new age ones are something else! Matteo you are so talented!! Nick, your expressions are priceless, I can’t even! Love the blouse you are rockin!!
Not the Treasure Planet slander... I love that movie and just rewatched it recently!
Can we talk about the Cinderella live action with Lily James? Am I the only one who’s still obsessed with it? Yes. All right, then 😅
Matteo will interrupt a sentence to sing if it kills him haha
Nick's face when Matteo said "Bugs Bunny killed him" was almost like he believed him
That snowwhite impression just murdered me. Dead.
And Nick would be Ariel EVEN IF ONLY because of the massively huge knowledge gaps. Nick could easily call a fork a dinglehopper and we would BE THERE FOR IT. Tricked by a witch? Not even a headline 😂 no matter what. Nick is still perfection.
Are you done?
Jesus loves you ❤️
I just knew this would be an early comment 😂
😅😂😅
Spoilers: he was not
No crowd has ever cheated for you.. *starts snapping along*
Nick’s “are you done?” Is me every time someone sings. Matteo really does have a beautiful voice though lol.
Thank you for mentioning Eyvind Earle-a true master.
Nick looked like he wanted to throw a bagel at Matteo's face when he was singing.
I could listen to matteo sing Disney songs for hours and hours
So can Matteo
Oh my gosh, I love nick! “Disney Renaissance- Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire??”
Matteo blessing us with the next biggest Country hit: "🎤🎵😩." Nick:"😒Get the f*g of the TV. I'm not watching THAT!!!" 😂🤣😂🤣 HE'S OVER IT!!!
I Never Liked You and Beautiful and Bothered are my two favorite podcasts right now! Thanks for making my Thursdays a little brighter. 💙💙
