Does Steppenwolf really wanna tell mere people about his family anyway? (Like I get Victor’s dad isn’t mere, but to Steppenwolf he is). I’m not disagreeing with you, just have a doubt to clarify
3:30 the snydercut is an obvious winner here in terms of overall quality. But for this moment, i like wonder woman's dialogue better (josstice league). Seems more badass when she said "you overestimate yourself" rather than the "i belong to no one" could just be me but that's my opinion.

for the general criticism that "Snyder doesn't understand comics/superheroes" @4:28 negates just that. Joss-tice league made flash travel at the speed of light while being in contact with people without taking into consideration that only barry has speedforce. A normal human will be reduced to mere atoms if something was such as that happened to anyone IRL or in the comics. However, Snyder neatly addressed this issue.
while i agree that snyder does understand super heroes ..I don't think you understand flash's powers, the speedforce protects people he carries too, or the girl he saved at the start of the movie would be fucking dead
@@FelipeA81 he can still save people, but not transport them with light speed. You can see him save a girl carefully, and he just put her on ground, not transport her to another saver place
@@flaviogarza746 He does, though. Read his interviews about Batman. In fact, his view on Batman is aligned with Nolan. You know, the guy who directed the most successful Batman franchise to date. He understand that these superheroes has to face not just supervillains but also their "inner demons" so they would grow as characters. They may fall along the way, but they'll manage to get back up again. Contrary to the popular belief, Batman did kill. He killed several people for different reasons in comics & in movies by Burton, Schumacher, & Nolan. Difference is, BvS didn't glorify nor justify his killing. Everybody in the movie hated it when Batman started to kill or just let his enemies die. Not just criminals were afraid of him, the innocent citizens too. Snyder showed that it's wrong, but he also showed that it doesn't make sense if Batman never kills even once. Batman bounds to make mistakes/flaws, then he learns from those flaws. It shows that no matter how skillful Batman is, he's still a mortal. That's how the characters can grow, which he did by the end of BvS (he refused to dead-brand Luthor) & he became more hopeful contrary to the beginning of the film where he's faithless & didn't give a shit. Snyder Cut shows how Batman changes from a loner who distrusts anyone but Alfred, to a faithful team player who leads other heroes in the absence of Superman. Snyder, whilst not always perfect in story plotting, is spot on when it comes to character developments. He immersively showed the fall & the rise of a character with their dilemmas & conflicts, thus makes the characters more relatable & able to sympathise with because what they face is similar to what the audience face in daily life to some extend. Snyder treats these fictional characters like living persons. Snyder shows that superheroes can experience self-doubt, life choices, confusion, love, hatred, happiness, sadness. Haven't we all experienced them at some point of our lives?
Because Joss only included Victor due to him being part of the league (if he was some random guy like the other black people in ZSJL, he would have been cut in Josstice League). And he turned Diana into a sex doll just because she’s female
In my opinion, I think the phrase from 3:37 - 3:42 should have been in the Snyder Cut, but that he says it in a more threatening or intimidating way. The phrase fits perfectly into the context of the Snyder Cut.
uhm, I would say it wont suit Steppenwolf's character arc. He is already sorry for being banished and trying hard to prove himself. He wont be speaking proud about him or his ancestors.
I thought of this too. But I think it makes ZS version of Steppenwolf a bit out of character. Steppy in ZSJL seems more of a trained general who doesn't utter words that underestimates his opponents. Didn't portray a bad guy who feels he's always the big badass. He sees WW a threat capable of going one on one with him. Steppy also was being careful not to fail so he doesn't underestimate. At the end where he mentioned about WWs sisters, I think it is a way of mentally attacking her, to put her out of focus and desperation to make her less of an effective fighter against Stepwolf. Just my opinion.
The Whedon cut kept trying to make him like one of marvels villains saying philosophical things and acting all wise and crap, snyder just did it the correct way and made him more intimidating, not really caring about this world until he realized it had the anti life equation on it
one of my favourite improvements of the snyder cut is a 3:49, just a change in music and slight extension of Batman's fight scene changes the feeling from a somewhat insignificant action filler, to a moment where we see this human, among all these super-powered beings, absolutely slap some Parademons around. I feel like with Snyder's version just hits a lot harder and displays Batman's significance to the team alot better than a guy who punches people and tells jokes, and not much else.
Zack Snyder Flash: almost terrified of the big guy because he's not used to fighting Intergalactic alien from a whole different dimension. Which is pretty much understandable meanwhile Josh Whedon interpretation of the Flash: says stupid crap like "I'm afraid of bugs and guns"... okay bug thing I can somewhat understand that it was there just for laughs but it doesn't make sense for him to be afraid of guns you're literally thousands of times faster than a speeding bullet!
I mean, I love ZSJL, and I consider it part of not just the snyderverse but also the main DCEU timeline like most DC fans, I guess, however while Snyder's steppenwolf is much better than Whedon's, it is 2017 version that's closer to the original Steppenwopf from the comics and animated series. Nonetheless, #RestoreTheSnyderVerse
While yes the 2017 version is closer to the one from the comics and animated series, the Snyder Cut version is more fitting for the Snyderverse because of his brief cameo in the Batman vs Superman ultimate edition

ruclips.net/video/7Agol0IFdDc/видео.html Kinda like the same thing here when Iron Man fights Captain America with ACDC Music on. Its cool on its own, but not with context
It doesn't make sense in any way, Flash is literally the most powerful person in there, he can actually beat Steppenwolf on his own there is no point why he should be afraid of anything he mentioned. Parademons can't smell fear that is Whedon's stupid idea which he doesn't even follow because as you say they should sense him but they don't. This is such a mess compared to the real Justice League
A lot of things in JL 2017 don't make sense. But that's par for the course with Whedon. Watch The Avengers and you'll find a lot of plot holes and things that don't make sense narratively.
two things i like from the whedon cut: - the "save one" speech batman gave barry (however i found the things of him saying his fears pretty corny) - diana's line when steppenwolf says "this one's mine". the one in the snyder cut felt so forced
I do have to say, Whedon's version did actually have two lines I liked more than Snyder's. Both versions of Steppenwolf's lines after the one guy says "we have families" fit very well, but I honestly think Whedon's is better. Him saying "Why does everyone keep telling me that?" shows exactly how much he doesn't care. Then there's Wonder Woman's line after Steppenwolf says "This one is mine". Her saying "You overestimate yourself" fits much better than "I belong to no one" None of this is anywhere near enough to redeem Whedon's version, obviously, but it's just something I thought was interesting
I'd disagree there. It is even incongruous with the character. Whedon's Steppenwolf spends and entire movie talking about his "mother" and he wouldn't understand why others talk about having families under duress? Not only that but the phrase doesn't help stablish any character trait for the character since it is so generic. I'd say it is even a detached phrase which doesn't flesh out the character nor move the story forward. It is probably more head scratching why the phrase was changed from Snyder's script since "Then you have a weakness!" would have worked just fine in Whedon's version. On the other hand Snyder's Steppenwolf saying "Then you have a weakness!" shows how threatening and determined he is as he is already thinking (and willing) to use any means necessary to force the information out of his victims.
@@patfer1189 I mean it's not like he has their families available at the moment, honestly if you wanted him to be more serious you could just have give no response.
Steppenwolf should care though, that’s what makes him a better character. Also Wonderwoman saying that weak line allows Steppenwolf to hit her back with an insult of his own whereas Steppenwolf can’t say anything good in the Zs version
3:30 what the hell they removed "i belong to no one", which is a good line regarding feminism, and changed it to "you over-estimate yourself", which shows WW as judgemental and over-confident for no reason it feels counter-productive
Hot take: I’m not a big fan of the voice filter of Steppenwolf in the Snydercut. It’s intimidating but there’s something a bit special about the Josstice version of it. Maybe it’s because I’m not a big fan of thick gravel voiced characters. Still hate the Josstice league

Honestly the only good addition from josstice league is “save one” in my opinion. I feel like it’s good heroing advice from a expert to a rookie. Don’t over think it save someone and you’ll know what to do next.
I like Justice League, although I was disappointed that multiple scenes in the trailers and television spots were either reshot or excised. Although the musical nods to Superman (1978) and Batman (1989) are appreciated, they do not fit this iteration of the characters; however, Elfman's score managed to sound epic when Steppenwolf invaded Themyscira, and when Diana was telling Bruce about the first time Steppenwolf invaded Earth. However, Tom Holkenborg's score is MUCH BETTER. I do not mind The Flash falling on Wonder Woman's soft bosom, since he was saving her from falling debris in the tunnel and because he saw her as the mother he lost. I also did not mind Cyborg's story arc being deep-sixed, since I am not a comic booke reader. The shots of Miss Prince's backside were also not an issue for me. Superman's computer generated lip was AWFUL. Zack Snyder's Justice League is MUCH BETTER. I also highly recommend Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice Is Gray Edition, and it must be released on home video. I have a few minor cavillations with the photo play, but I LOVE Zack Snyder's Justice League. Watch Justice League first, and then Zack Snyder's Justice League so you can easily compare the differences betwixt both photo plays. #RestoreTheSnyderVerse

Joss steppenwolf is more gleefully evil and honestly has better lines, but the character as whole is significantly more generic. The “Why does everyone keep saying they have a family line is good in showing how merciless and alien steppenwolf is but fails to convey personal goal he would have. Snyder’s lines are far more generic but strengthens steppenwolfs identity as a whole.
I hate how Steppenwolf looks like in Josstice league. It's like they wanted him to look like a monster but didn't want to commit so they made him look a little bit human too.
I like Justice League, but I was disappointed that multiple scenes featured in the trailers and television spots were either reshot or excised. Danny Elfman's score was epic in two scenes, but Junkie XL's music was EVEN MORE EPIC. And I love Elfman's nods to Superman (1978) and Batman (1989), but they do not fit this iteration of Batman and Superman, although I do not mind them in Justice League. I did not mind Cyborg's arc being butchered, since I do not read comic bookes, and the shots of Miss Prince's backside did not bother me (I am heterosexual). The shot of The Flash falling on Wonder Woman's bosom also did not bother me because he was saving her from falling debris in the tunnel. Still, I secretly hoped for a director's cut on home video. When Snyder announced that his version of Justice League was green-lit, I was beyond excited. However, when I read about a black-and-white version of the cut confirmed to be released a week after the regular version, I swore not to watch Zack Snyder's Justice League unless I could view both the colour and black-and-white versions, since the latter is Snyder's preferred version of his cut. Although I had read about Snyder's plans, I somehow managed to eschue reading spoilers and seeing full clips. I bought Justice League on home video last year so I would be able to compare both when I could. I saw Justice League for the third time on home video two days before a family member was able to pay for a subscription to HBO Max so I could watch Zack Snyder's Justice League, Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice Is Gray Edition, and several other photo plays to make the subscription worth it. The day after Thanksgiving, I was finally able to watch it. I LOVE Zack Snyder's Justice League. It is ABSOLUTELY EPIC. A MASTERPIECE. The aspect ratio and running time are nothing new to me. It is well worth spending four hours and two minutes (or eight hours and four minutes if you also decide to watch Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice Is Gray Edition). The narrative, thematic, and musical continuity established in Man Of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Ultimate Edition, and Wonder Woman has finally been restored. I have seen Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice Is Gray Edition V times. It is never boring, and always thrilling. A director's vision must always be respected by the studio. Watch Justice League first. Then view Zack Snyder's Justice League to compare both. And then gaze upon Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice Is Gray Edition to fully immerse yourself in Snyder's vision. Then when you are ready to take the full plunge, watch Man Of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Ultimate Edition, Wonder Woman, and Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice Is Gray Edition. #RestoreTheSnyderVerse #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague #JusticeIsGray #UsUnited

And lastly the ultimate asspull, the time travel, there is no setup on how he know and can do that. Lucky he turned back just the right time when the more seasoned version of him fucked it, the scene leading up to it is also stupid, he could just bust it in and air out the bugs and keep running all the while but no, he just keep running in circle in range of enemy's fire. I don’t agree because it gives room for Steppenwolf to give her a decent jab back.
1:55 this scene from snydercut is emotional and powerfull whereas in Whedon cut, he is just testing out his new weopone!!
for the general criticism that "Snyder doesn't understand comics/superheroes" @4:28 negates just that. Joss-tice league made flash travel at the speed of light while being in contact with people without taking into consideration that only barry has speedforce. A normal human will be reduced to mere atoms if something was such as that happened to anyone IRL or in the comics. However, Snyder neatly addressed this issue.
while i agree that snyder does understand super heroes
..I don't think you understand flash's powers, the speedforce protects people he carries too, or the girl he saved at the start of the movie would be fucking dead
@@FelipeA81 eh I disagree, he doesn't understand Superman and Batman but it's entertaining nonetheless.
@@FelipeA81 The girl at the start would be dead if he wasn't cautious.
These comparison videos remove all doubt about what a shit show we got in 2017
It amazes me that only one or two of Steppenwolf’s lines are the same.
One difference that stood out to me was Diana and Victor's lines had no emotion in the whedon version.
Because Joss only included Victor due to him being part of the league (if he was some random guy like the other black people in ZSJL, he would have been cut in Josstice League). And he turned Diana into a sex doll just because she’s female
2:34 I like the scene where steppenwolf hesitates at first to pick up his axe
In my opinion, I think the phrase from 3:37 - 3:42 should have been in the Snyder Cut, but that he says it in a more threatening or intimidating way. The phrase fits perfectly into the context of the Snyder Cut.
He says that phrase later on, but in a different way. It's when he asks Wonder Woman why she abandoned her sisters.
uhm, I would say it wont suit Steppenwolf's character arc. He is already sorry for being banished and trying hard to prove himself. He wont be speaking proud about him or his ancestors.
nothing from the whedon cut should've made in the Snyder Cut. Zack Snyder made a vow not to include any of those in his movie.
@@TheCycloneable No he was talking about the Whedon scenes, he still only used what he shot and the scenes that were his that they messed up he used.
The Whedon cut kept trying to make him like one of marvels villains saying philosophical things and acting all wise and crap, snyder just did it the correct way and made him more intimidating, not really caring about this world until he realized it had the anti life equation on it
3:37 no joke that was a really good line
I like how Stepenwolf just throws the guy against the wall and the spider thing has to get up and crawl all the way back to him again...like wtf bro😂
Steppenwolf glancing to his axe is a kind of tension I havent seen in movies for a very long time.
one of my favourite improvements of the snyder cut is a 3:49, just a change in music and slight extension of Batman's fight scene changes the feeling from a somewhat insignificant action filler, to a moment where we see this human, among all these super-powered beings, absolutely slap some Parademons around.
Nonetheless,
#RestoreTheSnyderVerse
While yes the 2017 version is closer to the one from the comics and animated series, the Snyder Cut version is more fitting for the Snyderverse because of his brief cameo in the Batman vs Superman ultimate edition

As much better the snyder cut is, some of Whedon's Steppenwolf lines on their own were pretty cool. They just didn't fit in this movie.
ruclips.net/video/7Agol0IFdDc/видео.html
Kinda like the same thing here when Iron Man fights Captain America with ACDC Music on. Its cool on its own, but not with context
flash's fear doesn't make sense, shouldn't the parademons sense he's there since they smell fear...
Fear and loud frequency..........
two things i like from the whedon cut:
- the "save one" speech batman gave barry (however i found the things of him saying his fears pretty corny)
- diana's line when steppenwolf says "this one's mine". the one in the snyder cut felt so forced
save one sounds stupid imo. kinda sounds like "save one, leave the rest". and steppi said "this one will be mine" showing he want a 1 on 1 duel.
True
Thank you, Zack
I love the brief reprise of Batman's theme written by Elfman as Batman jumps into the Nightcrawler.
I was bummed when the Snyder cut clip ended.
Her saying "You overestimate yourself" fits much better than "I belong to no one"
None of this is anywhere near enough to redeem Whedon's version, obviously, but it's just something I thought was interesting
I give you the wonder woman line that was so badass
@@patfer1189 I mean it's not like he has their families available at the moment, honestly if you wanted him to be more serious you could just have give no response.
Steppenwolf should care though, that’s what makes him a better character.
Also Wonderwoman saying that weak line allows Steppenwolf to hit her back with an insult of his own whereas Steppenwolf can’t say anything good in the Zs version
Steppenwolf just would not shut up in Josstice League
3:30 what the hell
they removed "i belong to no one", which is a good line regarding feminism, and changed it to "you over-estimate yourself", which shows WW as judgemental and over-confident for no reason
it feels counter-productive
4:06 When you have a cough
This shows how talented Snyder really is too bad he's held back by his own pretentious ideas and WB
Ngl the little scene of Batman mentoring Flash was pretty cool, probably the only good thing about the Josstice League.
Nice video
I'll never forgive Pitch Meetings for making me realize just how often Wonder Woman's theme plays
I’m going to go rewatch the Snyder cut now
2:07 Steppenwolf (2017) is good there
Is it even the same guy playing Steppenwolf
The music belike: "Everytime wonder woman on the screen"
Hot take: I’m not a big fan of the voice filter of Steppenwolf in the Snydercut. It’s intimidating but there’s something a bit special about the Josstice version of it. Maybe it’s because I’m not a big fan of thick gravel voiced characters.
Still hate the Josstice league

Technically, the Snyder cut was shot before Joss Whedon got involved.

I prefer some dialogues in josstice and in snydercut Its really annoying hearing that wonderwoman scream backround music its so stupid
I hate how Steppenwolf looks like in Josstice league. It's like they wanted him to look like a monster but didn't want to commit so they made him look a little bit human too.
Josstice league's steppenwolf is softer than zack version.

@@zhengyingli And none of that matter cause everything's an ass pull. Let's break it down.
He could've just grab all those people and bring them to a safe spot instead of zooming around giving encouragement for people going up stairs, it already established in the retarded extra scene that he can manipulate and move people at high speed without turning them into mush, yet he went and do the stupid debris stunt, if someone could just have him grab all the civilians and move them to a safe spot and avoid the dumb scene altogether, oh wait...
The resurrection is a total ass pull, there is no explanation of how he could just use the energy from him running fast to revive Supes, this design in the plot is stupid and there's no way Joss know how to fix it.
Even when Victor told him he need the charge, Barry was still running in circle, not giving it and lead to the world ending. The time reversal itself is literally all style, no substance, it cost him nothing, no time paradox, no drawbacks, test nothing of him and you're suppose to celebrate it? I wish there is a fix where Barry is actually being useful by airing out the bugs and did something actually meaningful like saving a family. Oh yea, Joss did that.
